Южнокорейские производители климатического оборудования в ближайшее время начнут продажи новых кондиционеров, оснащённых системами искусственного интеллекта и поддерживающих технологию Интернета вещей (IoT). Бизнес-портал The Investor сообщает, что Samsung Electronics готовится уже в январе представить новую модификацию своих топ-бестселлеров серии Whind Free, которые поддерживают работу с интеллектуальным голосовым помощником новой версии Bixby 2.0 на базе операционной системы TIZEN. Конкуренты из LG Electronics в ближайшее время проведут пресс-конференцию, на которой представят новые кондиционеры Whisen. В этих девайсах также используются технологии глубокого обучения в сочетании с виртуальным помощником ThinQ. Покупателям новых смарт-кондиционеров Whisen менеджеры LG сулят различные подарки и скидки. О подобных планах также заявили компании Dayou Winia и Dongbu Daewoo Electronics. Samsung, LG to release new AI-based air conditioners Korean air conditioner manufacturers will begin selling new air conditioners this month, well ahead of summer, promoting models with artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things technology, industry sources said on Jan. 16. Samsung Electronics said it will begin marketing new models of its TIZEN-powered best-selling WindFree air conditioners later this month. The new models have an updated voice assistant system, Bixby 2.0, which can be applied beyond smartphones to other home appliances. LG Electronics said it will hold a session at its headquarters in Yeouido, central Seoul, to promote 2018 models of Whisen air conditioners. The new models will provide optimized services to consumers through deep-learning technology with the help of LG’s AI brand ThinQ. LG said it will provide buyers of the new Whisen models with various gifts and discounts. Dayou Winia said that within January it will release new models of Winia air conditioners that are more energy efficient and can clean air with the help of a built-in AI system. Dongbu Daewoo Electronics said its new wall-mounted air conditioners will hit shelves next month.

Мощности предприятия позволяют собирать 1 миллион стиральных машин ежегодно. Следует напомнить, что в октябре 2017 представители Samsung предупредили, что дополнительный налог на южнокорейские стиральные машины негативно отразится на новом американском заводе корпорации. Окончательное решение по поводу 50% пошлины на такие девайсы иностранного производства должен принять нынешний глава страны - президент Трамп. Топ-менеджеры Samsung и LG предупредили, что в случае неблагоприятного исхода они будут вынуждены обратиться во Всемирную торговую организацию (WTO) по поводу нарушений администрацией США основополагающих принципов свободной торговли. Samsung’s new US plant goes online Samsung Electronics said on Jan. 15 that it has started production of washing machines at its latest home appliance factory in Newberry, South Carolina. The tech giant plans to churn out 1 million washers annually at the new factory, and will invest US$380 million by 2020 to help create up to 1,000 new jobs, the company said. In November last year, the US International Trade Commission announced safeguard measures, recommending a 50-percent tariff on imported washers of Samsung and LG Electronics in excess of the 1.2 million quota. US electronics firm Whirlpool had requested a probe claiming the Korean companies hurt the economy by dumping products. The Donald Trump administration is expected to take a decision on the ITC’s recommendation as early as this month. Samsung had sped up construction of the washer factory following the US government’s recent push for protectionism, aimed at creating jobs and invigorating the local economy. Samsung’s new factory was initially planned to go online in the second quarter this year. “I hope Samsung can take a leap forward with the opening of the new factory in South Carolina,” said Henry McMaster, state governor, in the opening ceremony held on Jan. 12 (local time). LG is investing US$2.5 million to construct manufacturing facilities in Clarksville, Tennessee, which is expected to start operations this year.
