Ёмкость аккумулятора составляет 3000 мАч, объём ОЗУ - 3Гб, а размер встроенной флэш-памяти - 32Гб. Устройство имеет слот для карт microSD, что позволяет расширить объём памяти ещё на 400Гб. Как и флагманская серия S, Galaxy A6 также поддерживает распознавание лиц и сканирование отпечатков пальцев. The device has a microSD card slot, allowing users greater storage options. Just like the flagship S series, the Galaxy A6 also supports face recognition and fingerprint scanning. The Galaxy A6 will come with a price tag of 396,000 won (US$353) and will be available in black, gold, and lavender.

На сайте Евразийской экономической комиссии (Eurasian Economic Commission - EEC) появились сведения о внесении в Единый реестр сразу 4-х моделей "носимых микрокомпьютеров торговой марки Samsung". Судя по нумерации (SM-R800, SM-R805, SM-R810, SM-R815), все они относятся к сегменту флагманских смарт-чаов, являющихся "наследниками" предыдущих моделей Gear S3. То есть практически не вызывает сомнений, что это долгожданные Gear S4. При этом никаких технических характеристик (включая габариты) в документе не указано. На основе перечня можно лишь сделать предположение, что модели могут отличаться размерами, отделкой корпуса и наличием/отсутствием LTE-модуля. До сих пор нет точных данных о применяемой операционной системе в этих девайсах, хотя всё указывает на то, что работать они будут на хорошо себя зарекомендовавшей фирменной TIZEN OS, а вовсе не на проблемной Wear OS (она же Android Wear) от Google, как предполагали некоторые "заслуживающие доверия источники".
