Samsung регистрирует систему Neuro Game Booster для смартфонов

Samsung Electronics регистрирует на территории Евросоюза торговую марку Neuro Game Booster (NGB) — специализированное аппаратно-программное решение для смартфонов и других мобильных гаджетов.
Задачей системы Samsung Neuro Game Booster станет увеличение быстродействия графической подсистемы мобильных устройств. Такой инструмент будет использовать возможности нейровычислительного модуля NPU (Neural Processing Unit), который, в частности, входит в состав мощного чипа Exynos 9820.
Не вызывает сомнений, что технология Neuro Game Booster появится, прежде всего, во флагманских аппаратах Samsung, рассчитанных в том числе на игры. Возможно, что NGB может дебютировать на смартфонах юбилейной линейки Galaxy S10, официальная презентация которых состоится 20 февраля, за несколько дней до открытия ежегодного мероприятия Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019).

Samsung 'Neuro Game Booster' Trademark Spotted

With mobile gaming catching on at a rapid pace, smartphone makers are shifting their attention to providing the best gaming experience with powerful hardware and software optimisations. Samsung is gearing up to make a big splash in the domain with an AI-assisted GPU acceleration technology to provide a superior gaming performance. Samsung's gaming performance acceleration solution might end up being called “Neuro Game Booster”, if the trademark filing is anything to go by, and will likely debut on the Galaxy S10 flagship which is set to be announced next month. 
Samsung has filed a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (UIPO) in the EU for a technology called  ‘Neuro Game Booster' that is described in the application with words such as "Electronic game software for smartphones" and "computer programmes for playing games." The trademark application, which was first spotted by GalaxyClub, was filed for rights over the name in the European Union. The filing also defines the technology as "artificial intelligence software", suggesting that Samsung's Neuro Game Booster will employ AI to intelligently allocate system resources and boost the gaming performance.
Additionally, the "Downloadable computer game software" description indicates that Samsung might bring the technology to older smartphones as well through updates or as a separate download package. There is no word when Samsung will announce the Neuro Game Booster technology, but at this moment, the upcoming Galaxy S10 appears to be the prime candidate for the debut of Samsung's game performance acceleration technology. The Exynos 9820 SoC, which was launched in November last year and is most likely to power the Galaxy S10, certainly has the firepower in the form of a powerful Mali-G76 MP12 GPU and an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to bring Neural Game Booster to life.

Samsung Electronics планирует выпустить в Южной Корее свой первый смартфон с отверстием для камеры в дисплее в конце этого месяца, сообщили отраслевые источники. 
Вендор намерен вывести Galaxy A8 на внутренний рынок в ближайшие недели, после его дебюта в Китае месяцем ранее, согласно данным чиновника из Samsung.
Galaxy A8s оснащается 6,4-дюймовым дисплеем с 24-мегапиксельной сэлфи-камерой. Он также имеет тройной фотмодуль на задней панели. Ёмкость аккумулятора составляет 3400 мАч.
Новый смартфон заметно выделяется на фоне предшественников, так как дисплей полностью перекрывает лицевую часть устройства, за исключением небольшого отверстия для камеры. Соответственно, он обеспечивает большую площадь обзора по сравнению с конкурентами, в том числе iPhone от Apple, которые используют так называемую "монобровь" или "чёлку". 
На южнокорейский рынок смартфон будет выпущен под маркой Galaxy A9 pro. Ожтдается, что цена составит от 500.000 вон (442 доллара США) до 600 000 вон, согласно официальному сообщению. 
Смартфон также является первой трубкой Samsung, в которой отсутствует разъём для наушников. Отраслевые источники сообщают, что вендор, скорее всего, откажется от использования такого разъёма и во флагманских моделях Galaxy S10, которые будут представлены в феврале.
Приглашённый эксперт блога Samsung World Николай Изнов говорит, что у него не вызывает энтузиазма идея ликвидации мини-джека для проводных наушников, равно как и наличие отверстия в дисплее.
"До последнего момента Samsung был одним из немногих, кто не шёл на поводу у сиюминутной моды "закоса под Apple", чем страдают многие "китайцы". Именно собственный "почерк" делал Samsung столь заметным игроком в мобильной индустрии. Однако нынешняя политика подразделения Samsung Mobile вряд ли будет способствовать увеличению спроса на указанные модели, поскольку грядущие "новации" не нравятся многим пользователям мобильных устройств." - резюмировал эксперт.
От себя же добавим, что фактический отказ Samsung от использования альтернативной операционной системы TIZEN в смартфонах окончательно убивает идею привнесения хоть какого-то разнообразия на стагнирующий рынок мобильных устройств.

Samsung to launch Galaxy A8s in Korea this month

Samsung Electronics plans to launch its first smartphone with a camera hole in the display itself in Korea later this month, industry sources said on Jan. 16. 
It plans to release Galaxy A8s in the domestic market in the coming weeks, following its unveiling in China last month, according to a Samsung official. 
The Galaxy A8s comes with a 6.4-inch screen with a 24-megapixel selfie camera. It also has three cameras on the back. The battery capacity stands at 3,400 mAh.
The new smartphone is significant as the display fully covers the front part of the device except for a small hole for the camera. Accordingly, it delivers a wider viewing angle for users compared with rivals, including Apple’s iPhone that use the so-called notch design.
The phone will be launched under a new name, the Galaxy A9 pro, in the domestic market, and the price tag is expected to be around 500,000 won (US$442) to 600,000 won, according to the official. 
The smartphone is also the first Samsung handset to exclude a headphone jack. Industry sources said the company is expected to ditch the jack for the upcoming Galaxy S10, which will be showcased in February as well.
Guest expert of the Samsung World blog Nikolay Iznov said that he was not enthusiastic about eliminating the mini-jack for wired headphones. He also noted serious criticism from users on the idea of introducing displays with holes.
“Until the last moment, Samsung was one of the few who did not go along with the momentary fashion of “cutting under Apple”, which many “Chinese” suffer from. It’s own “handwriting” that made Samsung such a prominent player in the mobile industry. However, Samsung’s Mobile current policy is unlikely to increase the demand for these models, since the upcoming "innovations" do not like many mobile device users." - summarized the expert.
From myself, we add that Samsung’s refusal to use the alternative operating system TIZEN in smartphones finally kills the idea of introducing at least some diversity into the stagnant mobile device market.
