Научно-исследовательский центр Samsung Electronics в России (Samsung Research Russia) в сотрудничестве с компанией «Моторика», разработали систему управления высокотехнологичными протезами конечностей при помощи носимых устройств Galaxy Watch.
При поддержке инженеров Samsung была реализована интеграция носимых устройств в роботизированный бионический протез «Моторики». Это позволило использовать функции Galaxy Watch и возможности платформы TIZEN для управления протезами. В частности, команда «Моторики» при помощи Bluetooth-соединения между протезом и гаджетом обеспечила возможность подзарядки часов от батареи протеза. В работе над этим решением также приняли участие специалисты из Университета ИТМО в Санкт-Петербурге.
В рамках сотрудничества было создано два вида протезов: тяговый, в котором Galaxy Watch будет передавать телеметрию об активности пациента в «облако», и роботизированный бионический. Устройство второго типа получило собственное управление через электро-миографический датчик, измеряющий усилие мышц, что позволяет регулировать сжатие руки и захват пальцев. Управление протезом выведено на Galaxy Watch, где можно регулировать порог срабатывания ЭМГ-датчика, сжатие-разжатие и блокировку схвата, управлять протезом с помощью безеля, а также получить доступ к общему информационному экрану с отображением текущих настроек и состояния протеза.
В дальнейшем компании намерены расширить доступные функции управления бионическими протезами. В их планы входит доработка приложения для отправки данных технической телеметрии на сервера компании, исследование применимости инерциальных датчиков носимого устройства Samsung для дополнения системы управления протезом, и интеграция системы питания часов в общую силовую сеть протеза. Помимо этого, разработчики проведут тестирование с участием пользователей для оценки реального удобства и различных UX-сценариев.

The TIZEN-powered Samsung Galaxy Watch is integrated into smart prostheses
Samsung Research Russia, in collaboration with the local company Motorika, has developed a system for managing high-tech prosthetic limbs using Galaxy Watch wearable devices.
With the support of Samsung engineers, the integration of wearable devices into the Motorika robotic bionic prosthesis was implemented. This made it possible to use the capabilities of the Galaxy Watch and the TIZEN operating system to control prostheses. In particular, the Motorika's team, using a Bluetooth connection between the prosthesis and the gadget, made it possible to recharge the watch from the prosthesis battery. Specialists from ITMO University in St. Petersburg also took part in the work on this decision.
Within the framework of cooperation, two types of prostheses were created: traction, in which the Galaxy Watch will transmit telemetry about the patient's activity to the cloud service, and robotic bionic.
The device of the second type received its own control through an electro-myographic sensor that measures the muscle force, which allows you to regulate the compression of the hand and the grip of the fingers. The control of the prosthesis is displayed on the Galaxy Watch, where you can adjust the EMG sensor response threshold, compression-unclenching and locking of the gripper, control the prosthesis with the bezel, and also access the general information screen displaying the current settings and the status of the prosthesis.
In the future, the companies intend to expand the available functions for managing bionic prostheses. Their plans include finalizing the application for sending technical telemetry data to the company's servers, studying the applicability of inertial sensors of a Samsung wearable device to complement the prosthesis control system, and integrating the watch power system into the general power network of the prosthesis.
In addition, developers will conduct user-driven testing to assess real-world usability and various UX scenarios.

The Motorika company is a developer and manufacturer of robotic functional hand prostheses with an individual design. The number of the company's clients is more than 1000 people in 11 countries of the world.By 2021, the company's specialists intend to develop artificial muscles for fine motor skills of fingers with artificial intelligence-based control, and by 2025, to create a robotic prosthesis with mobility identical to the motor ability of the hand.
Motorika is a member of the Samsung Startup Membership (SSM) startup support program, which was launched by the Russian division of Samsung Electronics in 2019.

Samsung назначил на пост главы мобильного подразделения в России (Samsung Mobile) Александра Углова, экс-руководителя департамента продаж бытовой техники российского подразделения LG, основного конкурента Samsung. На новой руководящей должности, как сообщили представители южнокорейского техногиганта, Углов будет отвечать за реализацию стратегии Samsung в сегменте мобильных и носимых устройств, развитие и продвижение продуктового портфеля, вывод инновационных продуктов и сервисов, а также за укрепление позиций корпорации на российском рынке мобильных устройств.
Александр Углов, согласно информации с его личной страницы в Facebook, окончил московскую школу №434 в 1990 году. В 2006-м он стал выпускником МГТУ им. Баумана, окончив его по двум специальностям – «Информатика и управление» и «Автоматизация и управление».
Помимо этого, он также окончил программу «Корпоративные финансы» Высшей школы бизнеса при Российской академии народного хозяйства и государственной службы при Президенте России (РАНХиГС). Год выпуска неизвестен.
По информации, опубликованной на официальном новостном ресурсе Samsung Russia, за свою карьеру Александр Углов получил более чем 20-летний опыт управления и планирования стратегии продаж. Он несколько лет работал в ведущих международных IT-компаниях и в разное время отвечал за взаимодействие с ключевыми клиентами, вывод новых категорий и продуктов на рынок, разработку продуктовой маркетинговой стратегии и ценообразование, стратегическое и операционное управление коммерческой деятельностью компаний, развитие розничных и партнёрских каналов сбыта федерального масштаба.
Одним из мест работы Александра Углова, по данным местного ритейлера Merlion, стала компания LG Russia, где он был руководителем департамента по продажам бытовой техники. Эту должность он занимал, по меньшей мере, с ноября 2012 года и, как пишет портал Retail Loyalty, в конце марта 2017-го он по-прежнему находился на этом посту.

Свой профессиональный путь в Samsung Гостев начал в 2006-м году, а в 2014-м он возглавил направление продаж Samsung Electronics в России. «За этот период он максимизировал объёмы продаж на российском рынке, обеспечив постоянный рост доли рынка, API и доходности бизнеса», – охарактеризовали его в пресс-службе Samsung.
Дмитрий Гостев стал руководителем мобильного подразделения Samsung Russia вместо Александра Графа, занимавшего этот пост с 2014 года и оставившего его в начале июня 2017-го. Граф, по его словам, покинул Samsung по собственному желанию. В общей сложности он проработал в корпорации более 12-ти лет.
В период руководства Александра Графа российским подразделением Samsung Mobile произошёл конфликт с крупными российскими ритейлерами, который начался в 2015-м году. Профильне СМИ тогда сообщали, что из-за "особых отношений" Samsung и крупнейшего российского оператора мобильной связи МТС, получавшего большие преференции, продукцию Samsung перестали продавать «Евросеть», «Связной» и розничные сети операторов «Вымпелком» (торговая марка «Билайн») и «Мегафон».
Наиболее острым был конфликт между Samsung и «Евросетью». «Евросеть» подала иск против Samsung в Международный коммерческий арбитражный трибунал при Торгово-промышленной палате России (МКАТ), требуя взыскать с южнокорейской корпорации штраф размере 150 миллионов рублей за поставки якобы бракованной техники.
В ответ Samsung подал встречный иск против «Евросети» на сумму 1,22 миллиарда рублей в качестве компенсации за задержки в платежах. Иск был удовлетворён МКАТ. «Евросеть» попыталась опротестовать вердикт МКАТ в Арбитражном суде Москвы, и в итоге стороны заключили мировое соглашение в декабре 2016 года. По неофициальной информации, «Евросеть» не выплатила Samsung никаких компенсаций, но взамен продукция лидера мобильной индустрии вернулась на прилавки ритейлера.
Ранее, летом 2016 г., продажа устройств Samsung была возобновлена в розничной сети «Вымпелкома». В январе 2017 года стало известно, что «Связной» также возобновил продажи продукции Samsung.

The claim was satisfied by the ICAT. Euroset tried to challenge the ICAT verdict in the Moscow Arbitration Court, and as a result, the parties entered into an amicable agreement in December 2016. According to unofficial information, Euroset did not pay Samsung any compensation, but the products of the leader of the mobile industry returned to the retailer's counters.
Earlier, in the summer of 2016, the sale of Samsung devices was resumed in the VimpelCom retail network. In January 2017, it became known that Svyaznoy also resumed sales of Samsung products.
