Samsung Electronics в 2019 году поставил на мировой рынок более 6,7 миллиона смартфонов Galaxy 5G, предоставив потребителям возможность испытать скорость и производительность сетей 5-го поколения.(1) В ноябре 2019 года Samsung занял 53,9% мирового рынка смартфонов 5G(2), представив 5 устройств Galaxy с поддержкой ультраскоростной связи: Galaxy S10 5G, Note10 5G и Note10 + 5G, а также Galaxy A90 5G и Galaxy Fold 5G.
В 2020-м году Samsung планирует расширить портфолио подобных устройств, оснастив модулем 5G ещё большее количество категорий девайсов. Так, на CES 2020, транснациональный техногигант представил Galaxy Tab S6 5G – первый планшет 5G, который появится в продаже в Южной Корее в 1-м квартале 2020 года. Galaxy Tab S6 5G с премиальным дисплеем, мультимедийными функциями и поддержкой сетей 5-го поколения поддерживает работу в режиме высококачественной видеоконференцсвязи, а также позволяет смотреть стримы, как онлайн, так и в записи или играть в онлайн-игры с друзьями.

Samsung Brings 5G to World by Shipping More than 6.7 Million Galaxy 5G Devices in 2019

Consumers are eager for a new mobile experience as Samsung looks to expand its 5G Portfolio to bring next-generation technology to more people in 2020

Samsung Electronics today announced that in 2019 it shipped more than 6.7 million Galaxy 5G smartphones globally, giving consumers the ability to experience next-generation speed and performance.1 As of November 2019, Samsung accounted for 53.9% of the global 5G smartphone market2 and led the industry in offering consumers five Galaxy 5G devices globally, including the Galaxy S10 5G, Note10 5G and Note10+ 5G, as well as the recently launched Galaxy A90 5G and Galaxy Fold 5G.

The Galaxy Tab S6 5G, which will be available in Korea in the first quarter of 2020, will be the world’s first 5G tablet bringing ultra-fast speeds together with the power and performance of the Galaxy Tab series3. With its premium display, multimedia capabilities and now, 5G, the Galaxy Tab S6 5G offers high-quality video conferencing, as well as a premium experience for watching live and pre-recorded video streams or playing cloud and online games with friends.

По итогам 2019 года Samsung занял 2-е место по количеству зарегистрированных патентов в США

Согласно данным ведущей организации по анализу патентных операций IFI Claims Patent Services, опубликованным в среду, Samsung Electronics Co. по итогам прошлого года занял 2-е место в США по выдаче патентов. 
Крупнейший в мире производитель смартфонов, телевизоров и микросхем памяти получил 20117 патентов США в 2019-м, что на 11% больше, чем годом ранее. 
Samsung стабильно занимает 2-е место в патентном рейтинге IFI в США с 2006 года.
Корпорация IBM возглавила список с 9.262 патентами, что на 2% больше, чем годом ранее, поддерживая звание лидера уже 27 лет подряд. 
Canon Inc. заняла 3-е место с 3548 зарегистрированными документами, за ней следуют Microsoft Corp. (3081) и Intel Corp. (3020). 
LG Electronics Inc., южнокорейский производитель электроники №2, получил 2.805 свидетельства, став №6 в рейтинге. Это на одно место ниже, чем годом ранее. 
Другими южнокорейскими корпорациями в топ-листе стали Hyundai Motor Co. с 1505 патентами (20-е место), Kia Motors Co., дочерняя структура Hyundai, поднялась на 58 позиций, заняв 41-е место с 921 патентами. 
В 2019-м году выдача патентов США достигла рекордного уровня в 333.530, что на 15% больше, чем годом ранее. 
Разбивка по лидирующим странам выглядит следующим образом: США (49%), Япония (16%), Южная Корея (7%) и Китай (5%). 
Данные также показали, что Samsung Electronics удерживает 1-е место по количеству действующих семейств патентов (76.638), за ним следуют IBM (37.304) и Canon (35.724). 
Активные семейства патентов относятся ко всему набору патентов, охватывающих одно и то же изобретение, действующее в одной или нескольких странах, и отображает размер глобального портфеля патентовладельца, сообщает агентство Yonhap News.

Samsung ranks 2nd in 2019 US patent grants

Samsung Electronics Co. took the No. 2 spot in US patent grants last year, industry data showed Wednesday.
The world's top smartphone and memory chip maker, received 6,417 US patent grants in 2019, up 11 percent from the previous year, according to the data from IFI Claims Patent Services, a provider of a top global patent data platform. 
Samsung has been the runner-up in IFI's US patents grants rankings since 2006.
IBM Corp. topped the list with 9,262 grants last year, up 2 percent from a year earlier, maintaining the US company's position as the patent leader for the 27th consecutive year.
Canon Inc. was No. 3 with 3,548 grants, followed by Microsoft Corp. with 3,081 and Intel Corp. with 3,020.
LG Electronics Inc., South Korea's No. 2 electronics firm, received 2,805 grants to come in at No. 6, down one spot from a year earlier. 
Other South Korean firms were Hyundai Motor Co., which ranked 20th with 1,505 grants. Hyundai's sister company, Kia Motors Co., moved up 58 spots to rank No. 41 with 921 grants. 
Last year, US patent grants reached a record high of 333,530, up 15 percent from a year earlier. 
By country, the US took up the largest share, at 49 percent, followed by Japan with 16 percent, South Korea with 7 percent and China with 5 percent. 
The data also showed Samsung Electronics holding the top spot in terms of active patent families with 76,638, followed by IBM with 37,304 and Canon with 35,724.
Active patent families refers to the whole set of patents covering the same invention in one or more countries, measuring the size of a patent owner's global portfolio.
