65-дюймовый OLED-телевизор от LG Electronics (OLED65B8PUA) вышел на 1-е место, получив 88 баллов.
65-дюймовый QLED телевизор от Samsung Electronics (QN65Q65FN) получил 79 баллов, заняв 2-е место в списке. При этом телевизор Samsung предлагает вдвое меньшую цену ($1100), чем упомянутый выше LG ($2600). Модель получила высокую оценку за качество изображения и звука, а также за функции HDR и смарт-платформу Bixby на базе TIZEN OS. Это самое достойное предложение среди высококачественных телевизоров, учитывая цену, говорится в отчёте.
3-е место досталось LED-телевизору от LG (65SK9000PUA) и 81 балл соответственно.
65-дюймовый ЖК-телевизор китайской компании TCL занял 4-е место в списке (65 баллов), уступив по ряду параметров и качеству звука соперникам от LG и Samsung.
LG, Samsung top Consumer Reports' best big-screen TV bargains list
Three premium TVs made by LG Electronics Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. have topped Consumer Reports' list of best big-screen bargains, industry sources said Thursday.
The U.S. consumer magazine recently announced four can't-miss picks out of TVs with screens that are 65 inches or larger, which are on American store shelves.
LG's 65-inch OLED TV, with the model number of OLED65B8PUA, received the top mark of 88 points in terms of resolution, sound and other performance markers.
The model, which sells for about US$2,600 at Amazon and Wal-Mart, is more expensive than rivals, but has top ratings in most categories.
Samsung's 65-inch QLED TV, the QN65Q65FN, was ranked second with a score of 79 for its good-quality resolution and sound.
Consumer Reports also recognized its convenience, as the model is equipped with Samsung's smart TV platform and its voice-activated digital assistant, Bixby.
The evaluator said the Samsung QLED TV, which sells for $1,100 at Amazon and other outlets, is the cheapest among rivals of the same class.
LG's 65-inch LCD TV 65SK9000PUA, whose price tag ranges from $1,200 to $1,600, was rated the No. 3 best buy, with its score coming to 81 points.
Chinese electronics maker TCL's 65-inch LCD TV (65R615), which sells for $900, placed fourth with a score of 65 points.

Модули LPDDR4X (Low-Power Double Data Rate 4X) обладают ёмкостью в 12Гбт. Они объединяют 6 16-гигабитных чипов в одной упаковке. При производстве новых изделий применяется технология 10-нанометрового класса (1y-нм) 2-го поколения.
В анонсе отмечается, что толщина модулей составляет всего 1,1 миллиметра. Это позволит реализовать новую компоновку узлов будущих мобильных гаджетов, освободив больше места, например, для аккумуляторной батареи.
В Samsung отмечают, что наличие 12Гб ОЗУ в смартфонах откроет новые возможности. Такие аппараты смогут поддерживать работу более 5-ти камер, передовые решения в области искусственного интеллекта, большие экраны высокого разрешения, сервисы связи 5-го поколения (5G) и так далее.
Напомним, что совсем недавно южнокорейский техногигант представил флэш-накопители eUFS 3.0 ёмкостью 512Гб для флагманских смартфонов. Эти изделия обеспечивают скорость последовательного чтения информации до 2.100 Мбайт/с. Во 2-й половине текущего года планируется начать серийное производство модулей eUFS 3.0 объёмом 1Тб.
В качестве иллюстрации стремительного прогресса Samsung в области создания полупроводниковой продукции, вендор приводит таблицу основных технических характеристик модулей DRAM для мобильных устройств, начиная с 2009 года.

Samsung Electronics, the world leader in advanced memory technology, today announced that it has begun mass producing the highest-capacity mobile DRAM – the industry’s first 12-gigabyte (GB) low-power double data rate 4X (LPDDR4X) package – optimized for tomorrow’s premium smartphones. Featuring higher capacity than most ultra-thin notebooks, the new mobile DRAM will enable smartphone users to take full advantage of all the features in next-generation smartphones.

Thanks to the 12GB mobile DRAM, smartphone makers can maximize the potential of devices that feature more than five cameras and ever-increasing display sizes as well as artificial intelligence and 5G capabilities. For smartphone users, the 12GB DRAM enables more fluid multitasking and faster searches as they navigate through a myriad of apps on ultra-large high-resolution screens. Also, the 1.1-millimeter thickness allows for even sleeker smartphone designs.
The 12GB capacity was achieved by combining six 16-gigabit (Gb) LPDDR4X chips based on the second-generation 10nm-class (1y-nm) process into a single package, providing more space for the smartphone battery. In addition, by using the company’s 1y-nm technology, the new 12GB mobile memory delivers a data transfer rate of 34.1GB per second while minimizing the increase in power consumption inevitably caused by a boost in DRAM capacity.
Since introducing 1GB mobile DRAM in 2011, Samsung continues to drive capacity breakthroughs in the mobile DRAM market, moving from 6GB (in 2015) and 8GB (2016) to today’s first 12GB LPDDR4X. From its cutting-edge memory line in Pyeongtaek, Korea, Samsung plans to more than triple the supply of its 1y-nm-based 8GB and 12GB mobile DRAM during the second half of 2019 to meet the anticipated high demand.

Samsung's Vietnam operations see profit decline in 2018
Samsung Electronics Co.'s Vietnam business suffered a decline in profit last year due to tepid smartphone demand and toughening competition from Chinese rivals, its financial statement showed Thursday.
Samsung's four subsidiaries in Vietnam posted a combined operating profit of US$4.7 billion in 2018, down 20 percent from a year earlier, the Korean tech giant's consolidated statement showed.
The combined profit of the subsidiaries in the fourth quarter reached $100 million, much smaller than the previous record low of $500 million tallied in the third quarter of 2016 following the Galaxy Note 7 battery overheating fiasco.
Vietnam is the key production hub of the world's largest smartphone maker, with about half of its smartphones and tablets being produced in the Southeast Asian nation, according to the company.
Despite the decline in some enterprises, the total profit of Samsung Electronics for the 2018th year was a record for the entire 50-year history of the corporation.
