"Медовый месяц" между Samsung и Google продолжается. Видимо в знак благодарности за то, что южнокорейский техногигант отказался от конкуренции с Google на рынке мобильных девайсов и прекратил выпуск так напугавших американцев смартфонов на безе TIZEN OS, "партнёры" из калифорнийского городка Маунтин-Вью (там находится основной офис Google) согласились на интеграцию с Samsung в сегменте "интернета вещей" (IoT), что открывает возможность совместимости смарт-девайсов Google Nest с фирменной технологией Samsung SmartThings на базе TIZEN.
Такое внезапное дружелюбие со стороны Google вполне объяснимо. Если бы Samsung перевёл свои смартфоны на фирменную TIZEN OS по примеру китайской Huawei, которая заявила о внедрении HarmonyOS во все свои продукты, то по позициям Google и её устаревшей Android был бы нанесён смертельный удар. Чтобы этого не допустить, Google решил закурить "трубку мира" с Samsung. Правда, в качестве встречного шага американцы выторговали возможность более глубокой интеграции своих сервисов в смарт-устройства южнокорейского техногиганта. Независимые наблюдатели не в восторге от такого "симбиоза", поскольку в долгосрочной перспективе это может привести к деградации бизнеса Samsung в области искусственного интеллекта и помешать построению собственной экосистемы на базе голосового помощника Bixby. Кроме того, это разрушает былые планы южнокорейцев иметь единую операционную платформу для всех своих устройств. Таким образом, Samsung, останется с целым "зоопарком" операционных систем, на которых работают его девайсы (TIZEN, RTOS, Android, Android Go, Chrome OS, Windows). Это будет требовать всё большего количества согласований с партнёрами и постоянного увеличения штата сотрудников. Большинство опрошенных нами специалистов склоняются к мнению, что Samsung необходимо форсировать внедрение TIZEN абсолютно во все свои продукты, а таких "друзей" как Google понуждать к добровольной интеграции своих сервисов в южнокорейскую платформу.
Между тем, в опубликованном накануне официальном пресс-релизе Samsung говорится следующее:
Samsung SmartThings, лидер в области автоматизации умного дома, объявил о партнёрстве с Google, в результате чего портфолио продуктов Nest станет частью SmartThings, одной из крупнейших экосистем «Интернета вещей». Вскоре владельцы смарт-девайсов смогут транслировать контент со своих устройств Nest непосредственно на телевизор Samsung или холодильник Family Hub.

Samsung SmartThings and Google Join Forces to Enhance Smart Homes With Nest Integration
The honeymoon between Samsung and Google continues. It seems that in gratitude for the South Korean tech giant's refusal to compete with Google in the mobile device market and stop releasing the TIZEN-powered smartphones that frightened Americans, the Mountain View "partners" agreed to integrate with Samsung in the Internet of Things (IoT) segment. This opens up the possibility of compatibility of smart devices Google Nest with proprietary technology Samsung SmartThings based on TIZEN.
This sudden friendliness from Google is understandable. If Samsung switched its smartphones to the proprietary TIZEN OS, following the example of the Chinese Huawei, which announced the introduction of HarmonyOS into all its products, then the positions of Google and its outdated Android would be dealt a fatal blow. To prevent this, Google decided to smoke a "pipe of peace" with Samsung. However, as a reciprocal step, the Americans bargained for the possibility of deeper integration of their services into the smart devices of the South Korean tech giant. Independent observers are not happy with this "symbiosis", because in the long term it could lead to degradation of Samsung's AI business and prevent building its own ecosystem based on the voice assistant Bixby. In addition, it destroys the old plans of the South Koreans to have a single operating platform for all their devices. Thus, Samsung will remain with a whole "zoo" of operating systems on which its devices run (TIZEN, RTOS, Android, Android Go, Chrome OS, Windows). This will require more and more agreements with partners and a constant increase in the staff. Most of the experts we interviewed are inclined to believe that Samsung needs to speed up the implementation of TIZEN in absolutely all of its products, and compel such "friends" as Google to voluntarily integrate their services into the South Korean platform.
Meanwhile, the official press release from Samsung published the day before says the following:
Samsung SmartThings, the leader in smart home automation, announced a partnership with Google, bringing the company’s portfolio of Nest products into SmartThings, one of the largest IoT ecosystems. Through the integration, Google Nest devices, including thermostats, cameras and doorbells, will be “Works With SmartThings” (WWST) certified, allowing users to seamlessly control their smart homes through SmartThings.
For the first time, SmartThings users will be able to adjust a Nest thermostat, view live camera feeds from outdoor Nest cameras and hear who is at the door with Nest Hello, all through their smart devices. SmartThings users can also incorporate Nest devices into their current WWST-certified devices to create Scenes and automated experiences, controlling the functions with simple voice commands or through the SmartThings app. Soon, users will be able to stream right from their Nest devices directly to their Samsung TV or Family Hub fridge.
SmartThings technology powers endless possibilities for enhancing everyday life. Scenes can seamlessly adjust the lighting. Automations can signal to a Nest thermostat when it’s time to adjust the temperature or if a window is open. It can set the optimal temperature for a baby’s nap or even a home alone pet, taking into consideration details such as its fur length. Users can also activate outdoor and indoor lights ahead of arriving home.
