В прошлом году мы уже сообщали о приобретении известного британского аудиобрэнда ARCAM американским конгломератом HARMAN, который, в свою очередь, принадлежит южнокорейскому техногиганту Samsung. Однако тогда новость о поглощении ARCAM не была озвучена официально. Теперь же специализированный журнал CE Pro cообщил, что сделка действительно состоялась в середине июля 2017 года.
Как пишет CE Pro, Harman International Industries, дочерняя компания Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., (KSE) объявила о приобретении A&R Cambridge Ltd. (Arcam), дочерней компании Jam Industries, Ltd.. Условия сделки не были раскрыты.
Основанная в 1976 году двумя студентами из Кембриджского университета, Arcam разрабатывает высокопроизводительные цифровые аудиопродукты для любителей музыки и кино во всём мире. Имея порядка 35 сотрудников в Кембридже, Великобритания, Arcam обладает обширным портфелем продуктов, включая AVR, усилители, ЦАПы, колонки, а также комплекты оборудования, созданного для прослушивания музыки и просмотра кинофильмов в бескомпромиссном качестве.
Чарли Брэннан, управляющий директор Arcam, и нынешняя команда менеджеров остались в Кембридже, но стали частью подразделения Harman Lifestyle Audio.

Торговая марка Arcam используются в качестве более доступной линии на фоне люксовых брэндов HARMAN, таких как Lexicon и Mark Levinson.

Harman Acquires Arcam for Undisclosed Sum

Harman International, a subsidiary of Samsung, rounds out its already-deep amplifier, AVR brands with purchase of Arcam for undisclosed sum.

Harman International Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., (KSE) announced it has acquired A&R Cambridge Ltd. (Arcam), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jam Industries, Ltd. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded by two Cambridge University students in 1976, Arcam develops high-performance digital audio products for music and movie lovers around the globe. With approximately 35 employees in Cambridge, UK, Arcam has an extensive product portfolio, including AVRs, amplifiers, DACs, speakers, and lifestyle music and movie technologies.

The purchase offers Harman dealers another choice to go with its already-deep line of electronics that include JBL, Lexicon, Mark Levinson, Harman Kardon, Revel, Infinity, AMX and Harman Kardon.
For integrators, the Arcam brand slots in as a lower cost line to Harman's Lexicon and Mark Levinson brands. Harman was acquired by Samsung in March 2017.
