Впервые индийские зрители получили возможность смотреть фильмы с непревзойдённым качеством, какого ещё не достигала кинопромышленность.
На церемонии открытия Samsung Onyx Cinema в Нью Дели присутствовали известные персоны Болливуда, представители кинопрокатных организаций, а также топ-менеджеры подразделений Samsung India и Samsung Southwest Asia.

Светодиодный экран Onyx Cinema станет настоящим подспорьем для отображения такого контента, и мы полагаем, что новая технология станет «блокбастером» в киноиндустрии. Onyx будет революционизировать опыт просмотра фильмов для истинных любителей кино», - сказал г-н Пунит Сетхи, вице-президент по корпоративному и потребительскому бизнесу Samsung India.

Напомним, что светодиодные кинотеатры Samsung Onyx впервые были запущены в Южной Корее в 2017-м году, а на сегодняшний день они уже действуют в таких странах как Китай, Таиланд, Малайзия, США, Германия, Мексика и Швейцария.
В ближайшие месяцы залы Onyx, оснащённые оборудованием от Samsung и JBL (подразделение американского конгломерата HARMAN, принадлежащего Samsung Electronics), будут открыты в Австрии, Индонезии и ряде других стран.
LED-экарны Onyx, обладающие рекордными характеристиками, примерно в 10 раз превосходят даже самые новейшие проекторы с лазерными излучателями по яркости, а также способности отображать всю цветовую палитру, включая идеальный белый и чёрный. Срок наработки на отказ - не менее 11 лет непрерывной (круглосуточной) эксплуатации, что в 3 раза дольше, чем в случае с лазерными проекторами.
Экраны Onyx собираются из отдельных высокопрецизионных модулей и работают по принципу самой передовой "эмиссионной" технологии, аналогичной microLED, где каждый отдельный пиксель может самостоятельно излучать свет невероятной интенсивности (или не излучать вовсе, чтобы отобразить идеальный чёрный), что позволяет получить рекордные параметры яркости/контраста и цветовой насыщенности. А поддержка технологии HDR гарантирует идеальное отображение всех доступных человеческому глазу цветовых градаций.
Система окружающего звука, разработанная компанией JBL Professional, впервые предоставляет зрителям возможность ощутить впечатляющие объёмные эффекты вне зависимости от расположения его места в зале.
Кинотеатры Samsung Onyx позволяют демонстрировать 2D и 3D контент в максимально возможном качестве, недостижимом в залах с традиционными проекторами.
В настоящее время Samsung предлагает своим клиентам поставки комплектов кинотеатрального оборудования с шириной LED-экрана 5 (разрешение 2K) и 10 метров (разрешение 4K). К концу текущего года южнокорейский техногигант запустит в эксплуатацию 15-метровые 4K-экраны Onyx.
Что касается России, то пока неизвестно, поступил ли хотя бы один заказ на монтаж такого экрана от какой-либо местной киносети.
Samsung and PVR Launch India’s First Onyx Cinema LED Theatre

Samsung India announced the launch of Onyx Cinema LED with the leading film entertainment company, PVR Cinemas. Film projectors have been the medium of cinema display for over 120 years now. About Onyx Cinema LED
The Onyx display easily accommodates any venue configuration while delivering unmatched visual quality, technical performance and reliability over traditional projectors. The screen maintains its advanced presentation capabilities in ambient lighting conditions, regardless of the featured on-screen content. Glass-wearing viewers can now have the benefit of watching subtitle texts, images and even minor visual details with unprecedented clarity, sans the dark, blurry shadowing and potential dizziness that can occur in traditional 3D movie theatres.
Samsung and PVR will extend this partnership and come up with more theatres equipped with Onyx Cinema LED screens in the recent future.
