Официальный анонс этих портативных компьютеров состоялся в рамках ежегодной конференции разработчиков софта Samsung Developer Confernce (SDC), которая проходила в Сан-Хосе (штат Калифорния, США).
Производитель особо подчёркивает, что Galaxy Book Flex и Galaxy Book Ion являются первыми в мире ноутбуками, которые оснащены QLED дисплеем, предлагая яркие и реалистичные впечатления от просмотра. При активированном «уличном» режиме, дисплей включает режим повышенной яркости в 600 нит, гарантируя чёткость каждой детали даже в безоблачный полдень. В пресс-релизе отмечается, что оба устройства позволяют без проблем работать от аккумулятора по 20 часов благодаря долговечным батареям и энергоэффективным дисплеям. А функция Samsung Wireless PowerShare может подзаряжать без проводов любой из Qi-совместимых смартфонов, наушники Galaxy Buds или смарт-часы прямо с сенсорной панели ноутбука.
Созданные совместно с Intel в рамках программы Project Athena, компьютеры Galaxy Book Flex и Galaxy Book Ion прошли тщательное тестирование, чтобы соответствовать целям программы по расширенным вычислительным возможностям и спецификациям, обеспечивая малое время отклика, высокую эффективность работы от батареи и мгновенные действия. Galaxy Book Flex и Galaxy Book Ion также оснащаются 10-м поколением процессоров Intel Core, сетевой картой Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) и высокоскоростным интерфейсом Thunderbolt 3.
Galaxy Book Flex, оснащённый шарнирным механизмом поворота дисплея, позволяет разворачивать его на 360 градусов и работать с ноутбуком в режиме планшета благодаря наличию сенсорной панели на дисплее и встроенной поддержке фирменного электронного стилуса S Pen.
Модель Galaxy Book Ion была специально разработана для той категории профессиональных пользователей, которые не «привязаны к столу». Для этих целей корпус ноутбука изготовлен из прочного и лёгкого магниевого сплава, обладая при этом небольшой толщиной и весом.
Начиная с декабря Galaxy Book Flex, и Galaxy Book Ion будут доступны в двух размерах: с дисплеями диагональю 13,3 и 15,6 дюймов. Цена будет объявлена ближе к дате релиза.
К сожалению, в последние годы Samsung поставляет свою компьютерную технику на ограниченное количество рынков (в основном в США, Китай, Бразилию и Южную Корею), поэтому ожидать появления этих продуктов в России не стоит.
