Samsung запустил в производство однокристальную систему SoC Exynos 7872 для мобильных устройств среднего класса. Накануне процессор уже был замечен во время презентации смартфона Meizu M6s.
Сегоднябыл опубликован официальный пресс-релиз с характеристиками платформы. Она производится по 14-нанометровому техпроцессу и содержит 2 процессорных ядра Cortex-A73 с частотой 2ГГц, 4 Cortex-A53 с частотой 1,6ГГц и GPU Mali-G71. GPU состоит из одного ядра, что, однако, не помешало новинке показать графическую производительность на уровне Snapdragon 625/630.
Однокристальная система поддерживает дисплеи с разрешением до 1920 х 1200 пикселей, память LPDDR3, флэш-память eMMC 5.1 и камеры с разрешением до 21,7Мп. В конфигурацию также входит модем LTE Cat.7 со скоростью передачи данных до 300 Мбит/с. Решение способно кодировать видео Full HD с частотой до 120 к/с и поддерживает кодеки HEVC(H.265), H.264, VP8 и VP9. Кроме того, стоит отметить поддержку Bluetooth 5.

The Exynos 7872 processor features an LTE modem that supports Category 7 with 2CA(Carrier Aggregation) for 300Mbps downlink speed and Category 13 with 2CA for 150Mbps uplink speed for faster yet reliable mobile communication. The modem also supports almost every network of 2G, 3G and 4G such as CDMA, GSM, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD modes. For global location positioning coverage, the processor embeds a GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver. Along with diverse connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi and FM radio, the Exynos 7872 processor also integrates Bluetooth 5 which offers longer range, faster speed and larger broadcasting messaging capacity.

Multimedia, Now More Entertaining

For enjoyable video and photography experiences, the Exynos 7872 features an improved ISP (Image Signal Processor) and MFC (Multi-Format Codec). In addition to its support for 21.7MP for each of rear and front camera, the ISP also enables smartphone to feature an iris camera sensor up to 8MP for enhanced authentication. Furthermore, the ISP embeds a hardware block for Smart WDR(Wide Dynamic Range) that generates a WDR image with just a single shot. The MFC supports full HD video encoding and decoding at 120fps with HEVC (H.265) and H.264 codec. With the Mali-G71 GPU providing enhanced performance with better power efficiency, the Exynos 7872 processor enables user to enjoy mobile games with long lasting battery life.
