Over the past several years, we have repeatedly published materials where it was said that in order to preserve its technological advantage, the alliance of developed democracies cannot afford to turn a blind eye to the actions of totalitarian China. We foresaw the situation, which was confirmed on April 19 by reports in the international press.
The invited expert of the Samsung World blog Nikolai Iznov has long pointed to the erroneousness of the actions of the Samsung leadership, which is overly keen on building advanced factories in China. This primarily concerns the semiconductor business, which is a key element of modern electronic technologies.
Even during the Donald Trump administration, the United States began to impose significant restrictions on the supply of strategically important technologies to its ideological rival. The current administration of Joe Biden, contrary to the hopes of short-sighted businessmen, has continued this course, and it is unlikely that it will be changed in the foreseeable future.
It has now become known that the United States intends to prevent the supply of sophisticated lithographic equipment developed by the Western Alliance to China. In particular, this applies to companies from Japan and the Netherlands, which are the main suppliers of components and systems for the production of the most advanced chips.
The embargo will directly affect the interests of Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, which recently built huge semiconductor factories in China and planned their further expansion. The Chinese communist government has already begun to put pressure on South Koreans, urging them to invest as soon as possible in expanding their production in order to have time to assemble new production lines before a possible ban goes into effect. Should the United States promptly block the supply of equipment for these businesses, the flagships of the South Korean economy will almost certainly suffer losses, which worried left-wing populists in South Korea. However, it has long been understood by a qualified expert that sooner or later the confrontation between the United States and China will move into the field of high technologies and one could hardly expect any other outcome other than limiting the exorbitant ambitions of the Celestial Empire.
The electronic version of the Business Korea newspaper reports that Hanyang University professor Park Jae-keun has called on the South Korean government to intervene to prevent major financial losses for Samsung and Hynix. However, these companies have driven themselves into a trap, turning a blind eye to the escalating situation of ideological and technological confrontation between superpowers.

На протяжение нескольких лет мы не раз публиковали материалы, где говорилось, что ради сохранения технологического преимущества альянс развитых демократий не может позволить себе смотреть сквозь пальцы на действия тоталитарного Китая и предвидели ситуацию, которая была подтверждена 19 апреля сообщениями в международной прессе.
Приглашённый эксперт блога Samsung World Николай Изнов давно указывал на ошибочность действий руководства Samsung, чрезмерно увлекающемся строительством передовых заводов на территории Китая. В первую очередь это касается полупроводникового бизнеса, который является ключевым элементом современных электронных технологий. Ещё при администрации Дональда Трампа США начали вводить существенные ограничения на поставку стратегически важных технологий своему идеологическому сопернику. Нынешняя администрация Джо Байдена, вопреки надеждам недальновидных бизнесменов, продолжила этот курс, и вряд ли он будет изменён в обозримом будущем.
Теперь стало известно, что США намерены предотвратить поставки в Китай сложного литографического оборудования, разработанного в странах Западного альянса. В частности, это касается компаний из Японии и Нидерландов, которые являются основными поставщиками компонентов и систем для производства наиболее передовых чипов.

Однако квалифицированным экспертом было давно понятно, что рано или поздно противостояние США и Китая перейдёт в область высоких технологий и вряд ли можно было ожидать какого-то другого исхода, кроме ограничений непомерных амбиций Поднебесной.
