Корпорация Samsung Electronics представила план развития RCS сервиса обмена сообщениями (Rich Communication Services) в рамках интеграции компании NewNet Communication Technologies.
RCS сервис Samsung – это комплексное решение, которое включает в себя совместимые с RCS устройства, собственные и загружаемые клиенты, облачный сервер RCS приложений, центр межсетевого взаимодействия для операторов связи и стороннюю платформу монетизации.
Пользователи обновлённого сервиса получат доступ к таким функциям, как групповые чаты, видеозвонки и передача файлов большого размера без необходимости загружать на смартфон дополнительные приложения. RCS сервис Samsung совместим с новейшими спецификациями GSMA RCS. Это основанное на стандартах решение представляет собой следующий – после SMS и MMS – этап развития сервисов обмена сообщениями. В перспективе он позволит вендору быстро выйти на глобальный уровень.
RCS сервис Samsung позволит операторам связи быстро запускать на рынке новые услуги, избегая затрат времени и финансов на выстраивание собственной сетевой инфраструктуры. Кроме того, RCS центр поддержит и упростит взаимодействие между Samsung, провайдерами RCS услуг и сторонними облачными RCS, что обеспечит пользователям глобальную возможность отправки SMS и MMS. Samsung работает над расширением доступности сервисов RCS совместно с несколькими поставщиками услуг, в том числе с такими компаниями, как Deutsche Telekom, KT, SK Telecom, T-Mobile и Vodafone. Ожидается, что количество партнёров увеличится уже в ближайшее время.
Решение RCS будет поддерживаться на смартфонах Samsung на базе операционной системы Android (начиная с Marshmallow и выше).
Samsung to Expand its RCS (Rich Communication Services) Messaging Service
Samsung Electronics today announced its plan to expand its Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging service using the recently-acquired NewNet Communication Technologies RCS solution. Samsung’s RCS service is a complete end-to-end solution that includes RCS-enabled devices, native/downloadable device clients, cloud-based RCS application servers, an interconnectivity hub among operators and a third-party monetization platform.
Users will enjoy rich messaging features such as group chats, video calls and large file transfers, while continuing to use their phone numbers without the need for an additional app.
Samsung’s RCS cloud will allow mobile network operators to quickly launch the service and avoid the costly and time-consuming efforts of building their own network infrastructure. Additionally, Samsung’s RCS hub will support and simplify the interconnectivity among other RCS-enabled operators, Samsung and third-party RCS clouds, allowing for the same service ubiquity for users as SMS and MMS.
Samsung’s RCS solution is compliant with the latest GSMA RCS specifications. As a standards-based solution, it will be a true messaging evolution post SMS/MMS, making it possible to achieve a global footprint very quickly.

To suit each partner’s specific needs, the solution is offered not only as a full packaged partnership but also in a variety of modular options. More partners are expected to join in the near future.

The RCS solution will be supported by Samsung smartphones running Android Marshmallow or later.
