Samsung официально представил серию потребительских твердотельных накопителей 870 QVO SSD. Её модельный ряд включает устройства для хранения данных объёмом 1, 2, 4 и 8 Тб. По сравнению с моделями серии 860 QVO в новых накопителях производитель обещает прировст производительности в 13% на уровне произвольного чтения и записи.
Серия Samsung 870 QVO SSD выполнена в 2,5-дюймовом форм-факторе и использует для подключения интерфейс SATA 3.0 с пропускной способностью до 6 Гбит/с. Устройства подходят для применения в настольных и портативных компьютерах.
В основе новинок используются микроконтролллеры Samsung MKX, а также микрочипы флэш-памяти 3D V-NAND, изготовленные по технологии QLC (Quad Level Cell), которая предусматривает хранение 4-х бит информации в одной ячейке. Кроме того, у новых накопителей предусмотрено наличие 1, 2, 4 и 8Гб скоростного кэша в виде микросхем стандарта LPDDR4.
Заявленная производителем максимальная скорость чтения и записи для серии SSD-накопителей 870 QVO составляет 560 и 530 Мбайт/с соответственно. Показатели производительности на уровне произвольного чтения и записи могут достигать 98 и 88 тысяч IOPS соответственно.
Samsung также указал приблизительный ресурс накопителей. Для модели объёмом 1Тб он составляет 360 Тб перезаписанной информации, для модели ёмкостью 2 Тб это значение равно 720 Тб, для модели объёмом 4 Тб общий объём перезаписанной информации может составить 1440Тб, а для самой старшей модели на 8Тб Samsung заявляет объём перезаписи в 2880Тб.
Модели твердотельных накопителей Samsung 870 QVO SSD объёмом 1, 2 и 4 Тб уже поступили в продажу. Южнокорейский техногигант оценивает их в 130, 250 и 500 долларов США соответственно. Версия на 8Тб появится в августе. Samsung пока не указывает цену на эту версию, но вполне понятно, что она будет весьма внушительной. На все предлагаемые модели даётся 3-летняя гарантия.
Samsung Electronics Debuts Industry-Leading 8TB Consumer SSD, the 870 QVO
Samsung Electronics today introduced its second-generation quad-level cell (QLC) flash drive, the 870 QVO SATA SSD, that is setting a new standard for high-capacity consumer storage. Featuring an industry-leading capacity of up to eight terabytes (TB),1 the new SSD delivers an uncompromising mix of speed, storage capacity and reliability for mainstream and professional PC users.

The 870 QVO offers best-in-class sequential read and write speeds of up to 560 MB/s and 530 MB/s respectively,2 with the drive’s Intelligent TurboWrite technology allowing it to maintain peak performance levels using a large variable SLC buffer.3 The 870 QVO also delivers a 13% improvement in random read speed4 compared to the 860 QVO, making it ideally suited for everyday computing needs such as multitasking, gaming and web browsing. The renewed Data Migration and Magician 6 softwares provide a host of improved and added features, enabling users to upgrade, manage and optimize their SSDs with greater ease.
In addition to the industry-leading capacity and performance, the 870 QVO provides an exceptional endurance rating of up to 2,880 terabytes written (TBW), or a three-year limited warranty.5
