Скандал с замедлением работы старых моделей iPhone сразу после выхода новых разрастается как снежный ком. Как мы сообщали накануне, Apple специально ухудшает работоспособность аппаратов , чтобы они не выключались при повышенных нагрузках. В результате смартфон перестаёт соответствовать заявленным техническим параметрам, что возмутило пользователе iPhone, заплативших за них большие деньги. На фоне происходящего журналисты нескольких ведущих западных изданий обратились за официальными комментариями к другим производителям и настоятельно попросили ответить, делают ли они нечто подобное.
Вчера от такой практики открестились HTC и Motorola. Сегодня аналогичные разъяснения поступили от южнокорейских вендоров Samsung и LG.«Никогда не делали, никогда не будем! Мы заботимся о том, что думают наши клиенты», — цитирует PhoneArena официальный ответ LG.
«Качество продукции было и всегда будет главным приоритетом Samsung Mobile. Мы обеспечиваем продление срока службы батареи мобильных устройств Samsung с помощью многоуровневой системы контроля, включая программные алгоритмы, которые обеспечивают оптимальную работу зарядных устройств и время зарядки», — говорится в официальном ответе Samsung.
Samsung and LG also confirm they do not slow down phones with older batteries
Two of the biggest Android phone makers - Samsung and LG - have just confirmed that they do not slow down phones with older batteries, a tactic that Apple has admitted it uses on some iPhones with aging batteries to prevent them from unexpected shutdowns.
In emails to PhoneArena the companies denied ever reducing the speed of the processor in its phones and LG explicitly committed it "never will" do slow down its phones.

Samsung Electronics Co.,LTD.: Product quality has been and will always be Samsung Mobile's top priority. We ensure extended battery life of Samsung mobile devices through multi-layer safety measures, which include software algorithms that govern the battery charging current and charging duration. We do not reduce CPU performance through software updates over the lifecycles of the phone.
Just yesterday, HTC and Motorola also confirmed that they are not slowing down phones with aging batteries.
Meanwhile, Apple has apologized for slowing down users iPhones without their knowledge and now offers a new battery replacement program with the price of the replacement reduced by $50, down to $29. The iPhone 6 and later are eligible, but the company will only replace those batteries that have have aged to the point where a replacement is needed. Currently, nobody knows exactly when this happens. Apple officially says that an iPhone battery loses a significant amount of its capacity after 500 charge cycles, but this information is hard to access. Apple will issue an update in early 2018 that will make information about battery health easily available on the iPhone.
