Но со временем Samsung перехватил инициативу, вложив максимальное количество финансовых и интеллектуальных ресурсов в развитие TIZEN, поскольку больше других был заинтересован в наличии собственной операционной платформы, позволяющей не зависеть от сторонних разработчиков софта типа Google.
TIZEN изначально создавалась как универсальная "ОС для всего" благодаря своей модульной структуре, позволяющей использовать её практически на любом "умном" устройстве - от робота-пылесоса до смартфона и персонального компьютера. В настоящее время Samsung портировал TIZEN почти на все свои IoT-девайсы и до конца 2020 года планирует использовать эту ОС на всех устройствах "умного дома".
Наиболее массовое использование TIZEN сейчас наблюдается в сегменте Smart TV и умных часов. В конце 2019 года Samsung объявил, что открывает свою версию TIZEN Smart TV для сторонних производителей телевизоров и мультимедийных приставок, поскольку TIZEN заняла всшую строчку в списке наиболее популярных платформ Smart TV, опередив конкурентов в лице LG (WebOS), Google (Android TV) и прочих более мелких игроков.
Что касается премиальных смарт-часов, то Samsung занимает здесь вторую строчку (после Apple) и стремится закрепить успех, продлевая жизнь даже старым носимым устройствам на этой платформе.
Несмотря на небольшой объём программного обновления для Gear S2 (около 7Мб), оно приносит такие важные опции как поддержка обновлённого фирменного интерфейса в стиле One UI, дополнение в систему безопасности и, самое главное, увеличение срока службы аккумуляторной батареи.
По мнению рыночных экспертов, такие действия Samsung укрепят доверие к брэнду и уверенность пользователей в длительной поддержке его операционной системы, что может благотворно повлиять на объёмы продаж электронных девайсов этой марки.

Opponents from Cupertino in every possible way emphasized that this became possible only due to the fact that the watch has its own closed operating system developed by Apple programmers.
However, now the leader’s crown has passed to Samsung, which supports the open Linux-based TIZEN operating system, which is also available for third-party smart device manufacturers.
It should be noted that initially TIZEN was the fruit of joint work of the world's leading players in the field of IT, including Intel, Samsung, Nokia, Linux Foundation and other eminent participants. But since then, Samsung has seized the initiative by investing the maximum amount of financial and intellectual resources in the development of TIZEN, since it was more interested in having an operating platform that would allow not to depend on third-party software developers such as Google.
TIZEN was originally created as a universal “OS for everything” thanks to its modular structure that allows you to use it on almost any “smart” device - from a robot cleaner to a smartphone and a personal computer.
Currently, Samsung installs TIZEN on almost all of its IoT devices and plans to use this OS on all smart home devices by the end of 2020.
The most widespread use of TIZEN is now observed in the segment of Smart TV and smartwatches. At the end of 2019, Samsung announced that it will open its version of TIZEN Smart TV for third-party manufacturers of TVs and multimedia consoles, as TIZEN took 1st place in the list of the most popular Smart TV platforms, ahead of competitors from LG (WebOS), Google (Android TV) as well as other lesser-known players.
As for premium smartwatches, Samsung takes the 2nd place here and seeks to consolidate its success, extending the life of even old wearable devices based on the TIZEN platform.
Despite the small file size for updating (about 7MB) Gear S2, it brings such important options as support for a proprietary interface in the style of One UI, an addition to the security system, and increased battery life.
According to market experts, such actions by Samsung will strengthen brand trust and user confidence in the long-term support of its operating system, which may have a beneficial effect on sales of electronic devices of this brand.
