Samsung и LG потратят на исследования и разработки рекордные суммы

Бизнес-портал The Investor сообщил, что электронные подразделения Samsung и LG в этом году выделят своим отделам исследований и разработок рекордно высокие суммы, перекрыв все предыдущие показатели.
В 1-й половине текущего года Samsung Electronics направило в соответствующее подразделение $6,9 миллиарда. Это на 5,7% больше, чем годом ранее. Общая сумма инвестиций за год должна превысить $13,4 миллиарда долларов. Подобный рекорд был зафиксирован в 2014-м году.
LG Electronics в 1-м полугодии 2017-го выросли на 0,8% и составили $1,8 миллиарда. Если LG Electronics во 2-й половине года вложит в это направление такую же сумму, то впервые в истории корпорации она превысит $3,5 миллиарда.
Таким образом, за 1-е полугодие на исследования и разработки Samsung и LG потратили 7,1% и 6,9% от своих доходов.

Samsung, LG set to spend record amount on R&D this year

South Korea’s two biggest electronics firms, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, are expected to allocate record-high investments in research and development this year, industry watchers said Aug. 18.
According to the sources, Samsung Electronics invested 7.9 trillion won (US$6.9 billion) in research projects over the first half of 2017, up 5.7% from a year earlier.
As South Korea’s No. 1 tech giant plans to maintain such investment to secure new sources of growth, industry watchers said the yearly amount is set to hover far above the previous record of 15.3 trillion won posted in 2014.
Over the January-June period, LG Electronics also allocated 2.02 trillion won to research projects, 0.8% more than the year earlier. If LG spends the same amount in the second half, it will be the first time the firm has spent more than 4 trillion won on research in a year.
Expenditures on research were equivalent for 7.1% of Samsung’s sales in the first half, and LG held a comparable figure of 6.9%.
