В ходе международного форума канал транслирует в прямом эфире на больших экранах по всей территории Fira Gran Via, а также в лобби и номерах более 280 отелей Барселоны. Mobile World Live TV – это сервис видеотрансляции, который предоставляет информационный контент на всей территории MWC каждый год. В этом году впервые в истории Mobile World Live TV проводится первый пробный запуск прямого эфира в формате 5G.
Во время трансляции используется инфраструктурное решение Samsung 5G, которое состоит из блока радиодоступа (5G Radio) и маршрутизатора 5G (CPE) – устройств, которые обеспечивают передачу контента, снятого видеокамерой высокой чёткости, на пульт Mobile World Live TV в Broadcast Village.
Ранее для организации трансляций использовалось решение на базе оптоволокна, а также сетей мобильной связи стандарта 4G. В этом году передача поддерживается сетью Samsung 5G, которая обеспечивает сверхнизкую задержку передачи файлов большого объёма, таких как видеоконтент.
В партнёрстве с крупнейшими операторами мобильной связи (Deutsche Telekom, EE, Orange, Sunrise, Swisscom, TIM, Telefonica, Vodafone) Samsung представляет доступ к связи 5G во Франции, Германии, Италии, Испании, Швейцарии и Великобритании.

Как заявлено в официальном пресс-релизе, 3 компании наращивают усилия по развитию технологий 5G, позволяющих управлять беспилотными летательными аппаратами и промышленными роботами благодаря минимальной задержке при передаче сигнала и высокой скорости передачи потока дынных, которую предлагает 5G.

MWC19: Samsung, Cisco and Orange Demonstrate 5G-Powered Drone and Industrial Robot

The three companies step up their 5G efforts with pilots of drone and industrial robot, leveraging the low latency and high speed that 5G offers

Samsung Electronics, Cisco and Orange unveiled today two promising industrial 5G applications – a drone and an industrial robot, at the MWC19 in Barcelona. From February 25th to the 28th, the three companies will demonstrate the 5G-equipped devices at the exhibition for the first time.

5G Drone Application

A Drone carrying a very low latency, high-quality video system is piloted from the Orange booth at the Fira de Barcelona. The drone, which is located outdoors at an Orange datacenter, carries a 5G router (CPE) that is used to transfer commands to the drone and transmit a high-quality video feed with low latency. At the Orange booth, the pilot can be seen controlling the drone by using a 5G tablet. Aeromedia, a leading drone operator, collaborated in this demo.

5G Industrial Robot Application

An autonomous robot carrying manufacturing parts transmits live video feeds taken by a 360º camera and a Full HD camera, both installed in the robot. The video streams allow operators to monitor the robot’s environment remotely, and to react and control it when its autonomous operation is interrupted due to unexpected obstacles in its path. The video and the commands controlling the robot are transmitted through a 5G network. This demonstration was done in cooperation with Acciona, a global company providing renewables, infrastructure and services.
The demonstrations show industrial use cases powered by 5G’s ultra-reliability, low-latency and high-capacity.
Samsung and Cisco joined forces for this live demonstration. Samsung used its 5G solutions including virtualized RAN, one of the smallest 5G access units, multiple indoor and outdoor 5G routers, and 5G tablets. Cisco’s Ultra Gateway Platform delivers a 5G virtual packet core on top of Cisco NFV Infrastructure that brings enhanced throughput and flexibility. Leveraging the wide bandwidth available at mmWave bands, like 26GHz, and advanced antenna technologies like massive MIMO and beamforming, the companies were able to achieve mobility, a very low end-to-end latency, and high capacity enabling the transfer of high-quality video feeds.
“Thanks to this successful test of 5G industrial applications, Orange has been able to verify use cases for verticals that are enabled by this technology,” said Mónica Sala, Chief Technical and Information Officer at Orange Spain. “We can now better understand the way in which this technology works in real industrial environments. This is a major step in driving forward the development of 5G.”

Samsung Live Broadcasts ‘Mobile World Live TV’ Over Its 5G Network at MWC19 Barcelona

The first live broadcasting of GSMA MWL using Samsung’s 5G solutions showcases a 5G real-world experience for MWC19 Barcelona attendees

Samsung Electronics today announced that it will live broadcast the GSMA’s ‘Mobile World Live TV’, the official media channel of MWC19 Barcelona, using its 5G network. During MWC19 Barcelona, the channel will air live on big screens throughout the Fira Gran Via venue and the lobbies and bedrooms of more than 280 hotels in Barcelona, as well as stream live globally. Interviews, features and keynotes from renowned industry leaders will be broadcast live over five days.
Mobile World Live TV is the video broadcast service that provides telecommunications content throughout MWC each year. This year marks the first trial of 5G live broadcasting in the history of Mobile World Live TV.
Throughout the broadcast, Samsung’s 5G solutions will be used, which are composed of a radio access unit (5G Radio) and a 5G router (CPE), powering the content shot by the High Definition Television Video (HDTV) camera at the booth of Mobile World Live TV located in Broadcast Village, Gran Via.
Previously, fiber-based backhaul was used for transmission from Mobile World Live TV’s booth to its production facility. This year’s transmission will be supported by Samsung’s 5G network, which is effective in overcoming the physical limitations of a fiber-based network. 5G broadcast offers ultra-low latency for the transmission of large files such as video content.

As the power of broadcasting lies with immediate engagement and interaction with viewers, the network used for broadcasting a live channel should be able to support seamless transmission of high-quality and large-capacity content via televisions and other electronic devices without experiencing latency. User experiences with broadcast are essential in determining the capabilities of 5G network solutions to support live broadcast more broadly in the future.
Meanwhile, following its world’s first complete commercialization of 5G FWA solutions, comprised of 5G radio (access unit and virtualized RAN), 5G routers and next-generation core in February 2018, Samsung brought one of the smallest integrated FCC-certified 5G radio base stations and 5G home routers (CPEs) to the market. In addition to its successful commercialization of 5G services across the U.S., Samsung has been selected by one of the major Korean operators as a 5G vendor.
