Из-за этого корпорация уступила в гонке форм-факторов китайцам, которые первыми явили миру смартфон с максимально полезной площадью дисплея. Сделать это удалось благодаря устранению блока сэлфи-камер с лицевой панели за счёт применения выдвижных модулей, которые позволяли прятать их в глубине корпуса.
Казалось бы, такое очевидное решение должно было давно стать мэйнстримом для лидера мобильной индустрии, но на раскачку ему понадобилось слишком много времени, чтобы осознать ошибочность увлечения дорогостоящей технологией "бурения дырок" в OLED-дисплеях ради того, чтобы встроить в них один или два объектива. Гаджетоманы, хоть и отметили старания южнокорейцев в плане развития лазерной резки экранов, всё же не были довольны тем фактом, что им приходится глазеть на не совсем экстетичное решение. В ходе сегодняшнего мероприятия A Galaxy Event был представлен первый по-настоящему "безрамочный" смартфон "предфлагманской" серии Galaxy A80, который стал первым в истории мобильным устройством с высококачественной поворотной камерой, способной делать великолепные снимки как в обычном, так и в сэлфи-режиме.
