Флагманские смартфоны Samsung 2019 года стали получать функции флагманов 2020-го

В начале текущего года стало известно, что Samsung разрабатывает фирменную оболочку One UI 2.5 для своих смартфонов. Новое программное обеспечение дебютировало с Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Z Flip 5G и серией Galaxy Tab S7. В день запуска этих устройств южнокорейский техногигант выпустил One UI 2.5 для линейки Galaxy S20 и Galaxy Z Flip. Теперь развёрнут выпуск обновления One UI 2.5 для серий Galaxy S10 и Galaxy Note10.
Файл с обновлением имеет объём 963,49Мб и также включает исправления системы безопасности Android от сентября 2020 года. Обновление One UI 2.5 активирует режим Wireless DeX, который дебютировал в сериях Galaxy Note20 и Galaxy Tab S7. Он позволяет отображать экран DeX UI вашего смартфона по беспроводной сети на любом телевизоре с функцией Miracast. Появился быстрый переключатель для режима Wireless DeX и параметры для настройки масштабирования экрана и размера шрифта.
Прошивка также включает улучшенный режим Pro Video Mode в приложении камеры, более простой способ обмена учётными данными Wi-Fi с другими устройствами Galaxy и возможность поиска видео YouTube в приложении клавиатуры. Режим Pro Video позволяет выбрать разрешение видео и частоту кадров, микрофон (передний, задний, оба, USB или Bluetooth).
Другие функции, которые являются частью обновления, — это поддержка стикеров Bitmoji для режима Always On Display, разделённая клавиатура в альбомном режиме, предварительная конфигурация сообщений SOS и возможность отправлять сообщения о местоположении SOS каждые 30 минут в течение 24-х часов.
Прошивка также содержит другие исправления ошибок, улучшения безопасности и общей производительности устройства.
Если вы имеете прошлогодний флагман, но ещё не получили это обновление, не беспокойтесь. Распространение прошивки неравномерно запускается по разным странам и регионам. Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note10 series starts getting One UI 2.5 update

6 months ago Samsung developed One UI 2.5 for its smartphones. The new software debuted with the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Tab S7 series. On the launch day of these devices, the South Korean firm released One UI 2.5 to the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Z Flip. Now, the company has started rolling out the One UI 2.5 update to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note10 series.
The Galaxy S10 has started receiving the One UI 2.5 update in Germany. It’s a 963,49Mb update that carries firmware version G973FXXU8DTH7. The firmware versions for the Galaxy S10e and the Galaxy S10+ are G970FXXU8DTH7 and G975FXXU8DTH7, respectively.
The new software update brings along the September 2020 Android security patch. The One UI 2.5 update includes Wireless DeX, which debuted on the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Tab S7 series. It lets you mirror your smartphone’s DeX UI screen wirelessly to any TV that features Miracast. There is now a quick setting toggle for the Wireless DeX mode and options to adjust screen zoom and font size.
The new update also comes with an enhanced Pro Video Mode in the camera app, an easier way to share Wi-Fi credentials with other Galaxy devices, and the ability to search for YouTube videos in the keyboard app. The Pro Video Mode allows the selection of video resolution and frame rate, mic selection (front, rear, all, USB, or Bluetooth). The Galaxy S10 series also gets Single Take duration selection (5 seconds to 15 seconds).
Other features that are a part of the new software update for the Galaxy S10 are support for Bitmoji Stickers for the Always On Display mode, split keyboard in the landscape mode, SOS message pre-configuration, and the ability to send SOS location messages every 30 minutes for 24 hours. Bug fixes, security enhancement, and performance improvements are also a part of the update.
If you’re a Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, or Galaxy S10+ user in Germany, you can check for the update by navigating to the phone’s Settings menu, selecting Software update, and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware files from our firmware section. Other regions could soon get the update for the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e and the Galaxy Note10 series.
The latest iteration of Samsung’s custom mobile OS, One UI 2.5, is now rolling out to the international variants of the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+, as well as the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. It hence appears that the entirety of last year’s flagship range is now transitioning to this particular implementation of Android 10. And yes, that includes the Galaxy Note 10 Lite.

Сегодня в официальном пресс-релизе производителя сообщается, что модель Galaxy S10+ (128Gb) заняла 1-е место в рейтинге, составленном  автономной некоммерческой организацией «Российская система качества» («Роскачество»), набрав более 4000 баллов. Смартфон был высоко оценён в таких важнейших позициях как дисплей, качество камеры, видео и звука, производительность, прочность устройства, удобство использования, связь. Кроме того в тесте особое внимание было уделено новым параметрам оценки, таким как конфиденциальность и безопасность личных данных.
Согласно опросу «Роскачества», батарея – самый важный фактор при выборе мобильного устройства для каждого 4-го пользователя, поэтому этот параметр стал в 2 раза важнее при определении лидера.
Кроме того, эксперты в 2 раза подняли важность категории «Прочность». Все гаджеты по-прежнему подвергали испытаниям на устойчивость к ударам и царапинам, а водонепроницаемым устраивали тесты с погружением в воду и имитацией дождя.
В прошлом году Galaxy S10+ уже становился лидером рейтинга «Роскачества», а также не раз отмечался международными экспертными организациями, в том числе занимал 1-е место в рейтинге камер DxOMark Mobile, становился лучшим смартфоном по версии Consumer Reports и смартфоном года по версии Techradar.

The Dozens Triumph: Last year's Samsung flagship smartphones topped the Roskachestvo rating in April 2020

The jubilee 10th generation of the flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S once again celebrates its triumph in the tests of the Russian expert community.
Today in the official press release of the manufacturer it is reported that the Galaxy S10 + (128Gb) model took 1st place in the rating compiled by the independent non-profit organization Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), gaining more than 4000 points. The smartphone was highly appreciated in such important positions as the display, camera, video and sound quality, performance, device strength, usability, communication. In addition, in the test, special attention was paid to new assessment parameters, such as confidentiality and security of personal data.
According to a survey of experts from Roskachestvo, the battery is the most important factor when choosing a mobile device for every 4th user, therefore this parameter has become 2 times more important in determining the leader. In addition, experts 2 times raised the importance of the category "Strength". All gadgets were still tested for shock and scratch resistance, and waterproof smartphones were tested with immersion in water and simulated rain.
Last year, the Galaxy S10 + has already become the leader of the Roskachestvo rating, and has also been noted by international expert organizations more than once, including taking the 1st place in the DxOMark Mobile camera rating, becoming the best smartphone according to Consumer Reports and the smartphone of the year according to Techradar.

Samsung Electronics начинает распространять обновление программного обеспечения(1), которое делает ряд функций, представленных вместе с новейшими флагманами Galaxy S20, доступными на Galaxy S10|S10+|S10e и Note10|Note10+.

Улучшенный опыт съёмки фото и видео

C режимом “Мультикадр” смартфон создает подборку фото и видео в разных форматах, после чего искусственный интеллект рекомендует лучшие из них(2).
Усовершенствованный ночной режим и ночной гиперлапс откроют больше возможностей для съёмки в условиях низкой освещенности.
После того, как снимок готов, инструмент “Мой фильтр” позволяет создать свой собственный фильтр с цветами и стилем, как у понравившейся фотографии, а затем применять сохранённые настройки изображения для оформления других снимков.
Любители видео смогут самостоятельно устанавливать настройки с режимом Pro, в котором регулируются такие параметры, как светочувствительность, выдержка и уровень экспозиции. Они также смогут переключаться во время записи с фронтальной камеры на основную.

Интеллектуальная галерея

Обновление включает множество функций для приложения «Галерея», которые помогут организовать весь контент. Благодаря искусственному интеллекту приложение автоматически группирует похожие снимки (3). Пользователи могут легко просматривать фотографии и выбирать наиболее удачные, которые впоследствии будут использоваться в качестве миниатюры для каждой группы. При просмотре в галерее изображение можно увеличить и обрезать до желаемого размера, нажав на значок в верхнем левом углу экрана.

Новые инструменты для обмена контентом(4)

Делиться контентом стало ещё проще. С помощью инструмента для быстрой передачи файлов «Быстрая отправка» можно видеть, кто из списка контактов находится поблизости, и обмениваться фотографиями, видео и документами с несколькими людьми одновременно.
Инструмент Music Share позволяет не прерывать соединение с Bluetooth-колонкой или автомобильной аудиосистемой, чтобы воспроизвести музыку из плейлиста друга, для этого достаточно синхронизировать оба смартфона.

Advanced Photo and Video Experiences

This software update brings select Galaxy S20 photo and video experiences to the Galaxy S10 and Note10 series. Single Take uses the camera system and AI to capture a number of photos and videos at once and recommends the best shot for you2.
With an improved Night Mode on the Galaxy S10 series, and the addition of Night Hyperlapse on both Galaxy S10 and Note10 series3, you’ll be able to capture even more amazing photos and videos even in low light.
When you’ve captured that perfect image, Custom Filter lets you create your own filter with colors and styles you like from a favorite photo serving as inspiration. This creates a reusable filter that can be applied to future photos when captured.
For the aspiring filmmaker, Pro Video gives you even more control, allowing you to adjust settings like ISO, shutter speed and exposure level. You can also switch between the front and rear cameras while recording video.

Intelligent Gallery

This update also brings a variety of gallery features to help you organize your content. Thanks to AI technology, with Clean View enabled, the Gallery app automatically groups together similar shots of the same subject for a more organized gallery4. Users can easily review similar shots and select their favorite to serve as the photo group’s thumbnail. When viewing a photo in the gallery, you can zoom in on an image and press Quick Crop, located at the top left-hand corner, to crop photos to your desired size.

Easy Sharing Capabilities(5)

You can now share more content quickly. With Quick Share, you can see which of your contacts are nearby and share photos, videos, or even large files with multiple people. With Music Share, you can extend your paired Bluetooth connection and you don’t need to disconnect for a friend to play their music on a speaker or car stereo.

Новый сервис развивает идею облачного гейминга, который приобрёл популярность в 2019 году, и позволяет стримить игры из библиотеки мощного ПК на мобильное устройство. Приложение PlayGalaxy Link можно использовать на Galaxy Note10, чтобы подключаться к ПК с помощью Wi-Fi или мобильного интернета и не прерывать игровой процесс, где бы ни находился пользователь.

Setting Up PlayGalaxy Link

В Samsung сильно просчитались, приняв недоработанную систему ультразвукового сканирования отпечатков пальцев от Qualcomm. Зато владельцы недорогих смартфонов техногиганта могут спать спокойно, в отличие от обладателей новейших флагманов.

Чрезмерное стремление к совершенству, как ни парадоксально, на практике часто оборачивается всевозможными эксцессами. Например, мы уже наблюдали подобные явления в ходе эксплуатации электромобилей Tesla, когда там не срабатывал "сырой" автопилот, или скандал вокруг немецкого автоконцерна Volkswagen, когда выяснилось, что их дизельные машины обманывают автоматику в ходе тестирования в техцентре, когда там производят замер уровня вредоносных выхлопов.
Нечто подобное происходит и в индустрии электронных гаджетов. То вдруг внезапно выясняется, что китайские смартфоны, выпускаемые под брэндом Nokia и продающиеся в Европе, отправляют сведения о своих владельцах в Китай, то какие-нибудь фитнес-трэкеры "сливают" данные о тренировках и месторасположении американских военных, усердно тренирующихся на своих базах, то вдруг выясняется, что проекторы от дочерней фирмы китайской Xiaomi начинают терять резкость в ходе просмотра фильма из-за того, что при нагреве деформируются дешёвые пластиковые линзы, установленные в объективе. Вобщем, список подобных проблем можно перечислять очень долго.
Особенно неприятными считаются инциденты, связанные с безопасностью устройств. В первую очередь это касается смартфонов и планшетов, где практически ежедневно обнаруживаются "дыры" в программном обеспечении.
Не избежал подобной участи и Samsung в своей широко разрекламированной подэкранной системе распознования отпечатков пальцев.
Стремясь утереть нос китайским конкурентам, использующим проверенные временем оптические сканеры, южнокорейский производитель обратился к помощи американской Qualcomm, которая как раз заявила о разработке новейшей "самой совершенной" дактилоскопической системы для мобильных устройств.
Судя по всему, давние партнёры так спешили внедрить это "революционное" чудо, что, как говорится, "совсем нюх утратили", не проведя должного количества испытаний. Хотя вовсе не исключается и вариант, когда о проблеме знали определённые люди, но промолчали, ибо понадеялись на авось. Но не пронесло. И теперь скандал набирает обороты, поскольку уязвимость, как утверждают некоторые теcтеры, может касаться не только программной, но и аппаратной части, то есть того самого "революционного" сканера Qualcomm. На практике это означает, что применяя "несертифицированные" чехлы или защитные плёнки, любой человек может разблокировать последние флагманские смартфоны серии Galaxy S10 и Galaxy Note10. Иными словами, под удар попадает вся система идентификации владельца - от содержимого смартфона до мобильных платежей. В таком случае,  обладателям указанных гаджетов настоятельно рекомендуется круглосуточно держать свой Galaxy под контролем, не выпуская из рук (а если ложитесь спать, то заприте телефон в сейфе или, в крайнем случае, в прикроватной тумбочке).
Сможет ли грядущее программное обновление полностью ликвидировать проблему - большой вопрос, так как изначально Samsung предупреждал владельцев "юбилейных десяток" применять только одобренные производителем защитные плёнки, дабы не создавать проблем сканеру от Qualcomm. Теперь становится понятно, почему в инструкции по эксплуатации делался упор на этот момент. Но совершенно непонятно, зачем в Samsung отказались от собственной, гораздо более надёжной, системы распознавания по радужной оболочке глаз, установленной во флагманах 2017 - 2018 годов. Эксперты связывают это со стремлением инженеров мобильного подразделения максимально расширить полезную площадь дисплея, убрав систему оптических сканеров и подсветки для идентификации радужки. Но, в итоге, погнавшись за одним, упустили другое, гораздо более важное.
В результате получается, что владельцы недорогих аппаратов Samsung, включая самые бюджетные трубки J-серии, могут чувствовать себя куда спокойнее, чем обладатели дорогущих флагманов. Так что знаменитое резюме известной стихотворной сказки "Не гонялся бы ты, поп, за дешевизной" в Samsung смело опровергли.

Samsung made a gross mistake by adopting the unreliable Qualcomm's ultrasound fingerprint scanning system

Last week, news broke out that some Samsung Galaxy S10 users were experiencing an issue with the ultrasonic fingerprint which would allow their phones to be unlocked from non-registered fingerprints. Later on it became apparent that the issue was also replicated on the Galaxy S10+ and Note10 series which brought more attention to the problem.
Samsung issued an official statement on the matter claiming that “certain silicone screen protectors” were causing the issue and that users should stop using these protectors and re-register their fingerprints without them. In a new development, a Note 10 user managed to trick the fingerprint scanner by placing a TPU cutout over it. This shows the vulnerability is not just related to fingerprints that were registered over a screen protector.
The video above shows the user’s Note10 is without a screen protector and we even see him re-register both his thumbs and index fingers for the purpose of the test. At the 1:22 mark, the user places the TPU cutout over the lower part of the screen which manages to trick the scanner to unlock the phone with a non-registered fingerprint.
The same process is performed multiple times with different fingers and each time the scanner gets bypassed. It’s also worth mentioning that the test was performed on the Exynos variant of the Note 10 as we are yet to see if the Snapdragon models are also experiencing the same flaw.
Samsung did issue a software update for the Exynos Note 10+ 5G recently which provides improvements to the fingerprint scanner and should also offer one for the rest of the Note10 and S10 lines soon.

Samsung Electronics объявляет о скором выпуске программного патча с целью исправления уязвимости в подэкранном сенсоре отпечатков пальцев во флагманской серии смартфонов Galaxy S10. Корпорации приходится вносить исправления в максимально сжатые сроки, чтобы избежать повторения кошмара с отзывом в 2016-м году всех флагманских смартфонов Galaxy Note 7 из-за проблем с аккумуляторами.
Впервые об уязвимости системы дактилоскопирования сообщила британская владелица Galaxy S10, чей муж смог разблокировать её телефон своим отпечатком пальца. Произошло это из-за применения защитной плёнки экрана от стороннего производителя, которую хозяйка смартфона установила самостоятельно.
Южнокорейский техногигант признал, что проблема может возникнуть, когда структура некоторых защитных плёнок из силикона распознаётся как отпечаток пальцев владельца трубки, даже если палец прикладывает совершенно посторонний человек. Производитель заявил, что скоро выпустит патч, который не реагирует на струкутуру силиконовых защитных кожухов.
Запущенные в марте флагманы Galaxy S10 оснащены встроенным ультразвуковым датчиком, который спрятан под дисплей и обнаруживает отпечатки пальцев в случае прикосновения в нижней части экрана. Samsung рекламировал систему ультразвуковой аутентификации как «революционную», подчёркивая её повышенную точность и безопасность по сравнению с оптическими сканерами, которые используют китайские конкуренты, такие как Huawei и Xiaomi.

"За последние несколько лет мобильный бизнес Samsung пережил столько проблемных моментов, что их число просто недопустимо для лидера индустрии. Сначала это был скандал вокруг возгораний Galaxy Note7, затем, из-за нерешительных и непоследовательных действий имел место провал запуска операционной системы TIZEN на смартфонах (чего категорически нельзя было допускать, ибо теперь Samsung оказался в рабской зависимости от Google и её Android OS), далее произошёл конфуз с запуском первого складного смартфона Galaxy Fold, который, в итоге, появился на рынке с 5-месячной задержкой, и вот теперь проблемы с безопасностью флагманских аппаратов Galaxy S10 и Note10. Я уж не говорю о потерях позиций на крупнейших мобильных рынках Индии и Китая. Этих фактов более чем достаточно, чтобы глава мобильного подразделения ушёл в отставку или переместился на какой-нибудь менее ответственный участок.
В южнокорейских СМИ сообщалось, что после инцидента с Galaxy Note7 господин Ко Донг-джин хотел уйти в отставку, но Ли Джей-ён, фактический глава и наследник семейной бизнес-империи Samsung, тогда её не принял.

Expert: after the next scandal with vulnerability in the security system of flagship smartphones, the head of the Samsung mobile division should resign

Samsung Electronics Co. said it will soon release a software patch to fix a security flaw on the fingerprint sensor of its Galaxy S10 smartphone series, moving fast to tackle the technological glitch and avoid revisiting the 2016 recall nightmare of the fire-prone Galaxy Note 7. 
The issue was first reported by a British user whose husband was able to unlock her phone with his fingerprint when it was cased in a third-party screen protector. 
The South Korean tech giant acknowledged that the problem could occur when patterns of some silicon case protectors are recognized along with fingerprints. It said it will soon issue a patch that does not register the patterns on the silicon case. 
Launched in March, the Galaxy S10 phones have an in-display ultrasonic sensor that detects the ridges of fingerprints. The company had touted the ultrasonic authentication system as “revolutionary,” stressing its enhanced accuracy and security compared with optical readers used by Chinese rivals like Huawei and Xiaomi. 
The technology was developed jointly with Qualcomm, raising the possibility that the same problem could occur in other smartphones that use Qualcomm solutions. Similar issues are said to have been raised by some Galaxy Note 10 users as well.
The latest malfunction is reportedly due to several updates introduced in the new phone to enhance the fingerprint recognition capabilities. The company had issued software updates after complaints from some initial Galaxy S10 users of having problems with the fingerprint scanner. If the latest bug is due to loosened security to allow phones to more easily read wet or dirty fingers, the problem can be fixed with a software patch, according to experts. 
Industry observers say the company needs to act swiftly as the security flaw, if left uncontained, could lead to huge financial losses for users when abused in banking or card transactions. 
Samsung Electronics, whose performance has flagged due to the protracted downturn of its mainstay chip business, enjoyed a rebound in the third quarter with estimated earnings of 7.7 trillion won ($6.52 billion) on sales of 62 trillion won thanks to stellar sales of its two new flagship phones. Its final earnings report is due on Oct. 31.
Nikolai Iznov, a visiting expert at Samsung World’s information blog, believes that the head of the mobile division, DJ Koh, should resign for a variety of reasons.
“Over the past few years, Samsung’s mobile business has experienced so many challenging moments that their number is simply unacceptable to the industry leader. At first it was a scandal around the fires of Galaxy Note7, then, due to indecisive and ill-conceived actions, Samsung Mobile buried the idea of launching the TIZEN operating system on smartphones (as a result, Samsung now is slavishly dependent on Android), then there was an embarrassment with the launch of the first flexible flagship smartphone Galaxy Fold, which, in the end, appeared on the market with 5-month delay, and now there are security problems with the flagship Galaxy S10 and Note10. Not to mention the loss of positions in the largest mobile markets of India and China. These facts are more than enough for the head of the mobile division to resign or move to some less significant division of the corporation.
South Korean media reported that after the incident with the Galaxy Note7, Mr. DJ Koh wanted to resign, but Lee Jae-yong, the actual head and heir to the Samsung family business empire, did not accept her then. They say that the head of Samsung Mobile enjoys the increased trust of Lee Jr. and now it is not clear what else needs to happen in order for this so important business to finally be headed by a more competent and decisive manager. If the series of such shameful fiasco continues, then Samsung will not be able to maintain its leadership in the segment of mobile devices, which I have already warned about several times,” the expert noted.

Samsung Wins ‘Best Wi-Fi Innovation’ at WBA Industry Awards

On September 30, Samsung Electronics was awarded the 2019 ‘Best Wi-Fi Innovation Award’ by the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA). The honor was bestowed upon Samsung’s Galaxy S10 for its Intelligent Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi 6 innovations, making it the first smartphone to ever receive the award.

The Galaxy S10’s Intelligent Wi-Fi utilizes machine learning to ensure that users’ Wi-Fi connections are both smart and safe. The innovation enables the device to recognize when a user has entered a space where Wi-Fi connections are likely to be unstable, and automatically switch to LTE connectivity to avoid network interruption. And surprisingly, this added speed and reliability actually uses less battery power, not more, allowing users to conserve power for when they need it.

Software Update Brings Powerful Galaxy Note10 Features to the Galaxy S10

The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are packed with powerful tools designed to help users unleash their creativity and be more productive. Now, with an update set for release beginning in European markets from September 23,1 Samsung Electronics is introducing many of those same bar-raising innovations – including features like AR Doodle, a built-in video editor and Link to Windows integration – to the Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+ and S10 5G.2
Once Galaxy S10 users download the update, they’ll notice that their smartphone’s pro-grade camera has become even more powerful. Whenever Galaxy S10 users capture a memorable clip, the camera’s new, Gallery app-accessible video editor offers all the tools they’ll need to turn it into a share-worthy video. This versatile feature makes it easy to edit videos like a pro, and features simple tools for trimming clips, stitching them together, adjusting playback speed and more. You can even use the function to add subtitles and background music to clips to make your content more unique.
The update also incorporates support for Samsung DeX for PC. Once users download the app from SamsungDeX.com, they’ll be able to launch Samsung DeX on their PC or Mac simply by connecting their Galaxy S10 to their computer via USB cable. Link to Windows support has also been added, which means that Galaxy S10 users will be able to wirelessly connect their phone to their Windows 10 PC and easily view its contents, send and receive messages, and sync recent photos directly from their computer.

Wi-Fi 6 Enabling New Mobile Experiences
