Samsung выводит на южнокорейский рынок специальную версию умных смарт-часов Galaxy Watch, предназначенную для игроков в гольф. Соответственно, этот носимый гаджет, работающий на самой новой версии операционной системы TIZEN 4.0, получил название Galaxy Watch Golf Edition. Единственным отличием от базовой модели является наличие специального приложения для гольфистов Smart Caddie. Оно разработано в кооперации с командой GolfzonDeca.
Это ПО должно помочь игроку, так как позволяет отслеживать количество ударов, направление в котором находится лунка, расстояние до неё, а также сохраняя результаты хода состязания. Smart Caddie содержит информацию о 60.000 полей для игры в гольф.
По заявлению производителя, автономность работы при самом активном использовании часов Galaxy Watch Golf Edition позволит осуществить мониторинг в течение 3-х раундов в гольф (54 лунки). Цена большой 46-миллиметровой модели составляет примерно $410, а малая 42-миллиметровая версия оценена в $350.
Нынешние Galaxy Watch Golf Edition не являются эксклюзивом, поскольку ранее Samsung уже выпускал аналогичный девайс на базе предыдущей модели смарт-часов Gear S3.
Будут ли доступны "гольф-версии" за пределами Южной Кореи, пока неизвестно.
Samsung releases smartwatch for golfers
Samsung has launched a new smartwatch designed specifically for golfers, the Galaxy Watch Golf Edition. The watch itself is the same as the Galaxy Watch; the big difference lies in the software, which includes a Smart Caddie app to help golfers keep track of their record and shots, learn about the green, and more.
The TIZEN-powered Galaxy Watch Golf Edition packs information on approximately 60,000 golf courses, according to Samsung, offering details like distance and green height. As mentioned, the watch can track the number of shots, that enabling the creation of a personal “Yardage Book” with historical game information.
Users can access that digital book using their smartphone or online, as well, making it easier to check out stats after the game ends. This isn’t the first time Samsung has offered a smartwatch for golfers — it previously launched a similar variant for its Gear S3 model.
As for the watch itself, everything remains the same as with the regular Galaxy Watch. Samsung claims this model’s battery can power the device across 54 holes and three rounds a day. Users can get the Golf Edition variant in 42mm Midnight Black and 46mm Silver color and size options.
The 46-mm edition will be sold at 409,700 won (US$367), with the price tag on the 42-mm version set at 389,900 won.
The model is only available in South Korea, unfortunately.
