Жители стран Балтии теперь могут оплатить технику Samsung криптовалютой

Торговые площадки южнокорейского электронного гиганта Samsung в Литве, Латвии и Эстонии начали принимать криптовалюты в качестве метода оплаты. Процессинговую поддержку обеспечивает децентрализованная платёжная система CopPay.
Помимо биткоина, расплатиться за технику Samsung можно с помощью Ethereum, Dash, Nem, Steem, Litecoin и Ripple. В настоящее время воспользоваться такой возможностью могут жители Таллина, Риги, Вильнюса и Каунаса.
В январе стало известно, что Samsung начал производство чипов для ASIC-майнеров. В I квартале 2018 года за счёт продажи оборудования для майнинга корпорация увеличила операционную прибыль на 58%.

Samsung stores accept cryptocurrencies via CopPay

Customers in Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius and Kaunas can buy Samsung smartphones, tablets, laptops, TV-sets, and more with digital money.
Stores in the Baltic States now accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, Dash, Nem, and Steem as a means of payment using CopPay technology.
The full list of store addresses can be found on the CopPay merchant map at http://coppay.io. The crypto-payment feature will be available soon at Samsung’s internet stores.
There is a growing trend toward business digitalization and allowing customers to pay for goods and services in cryptocurrency, whether at global retailers or local restaurants. CopPay initiates Referral Program designed to accelerate cryptofication all over Europe.

Samsung откроет в столице Латвии центр исследований и развития

Президент Латвии Раймонд Вейонис и руководство корпорации Samsung во время сегодняшней встречи в Сеуле договорились о создании в Риге центра исследований и развития Samsung.
Как сообщили в президентской канцелярии, Вейонис дал высокую оценку деятельности Samsung в Латвии по развитию цифровых навыков у молодёжи.
"Латвийское правительство, отрасль ИКТ и ученые совместно работают над тем, чтобы добиться прорыва в экономике, обеспечив путём дигитализации широкий доступ к имеющимся в распоряжении государства данным и содействуя их использованию в коммерческих целях. Достигнутая с Samsung договорённость о создании в Риге центра исследований и развития будет не только способствовать сотрудничеству Латвии и Южной Кореи в области ИКТ, но и станет поддержкой на пути к этой цели", — сказал президент.

Samsung to open a research and development center in the capital of Latvia

South Korea is one of Latvia's most important partners in Asia, Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis said during his meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in today.
LETA was told at the president's office that the meeting between the two presidents was intended to build closer political and economic cooperation between Latvia and South Korea. "South Korea is one of Latvia's most important partners in Asia. We still have a great potential to develop this cooperation in various areas - investment, trade, tourism, education, culture and air transport, as well as other spheres of transport and logistics," said Vejonis.
To promote economic exchange between the two countries, the first Latvian-South Korean business forum will also take place during Vejonis' visit to Seoul. During the forum, the Latvian side plans to sign a cooperation agreement with the Korea Importers Association on the promotion of mutual economic relations and international trade, the Latvian president's representatives said.
During his visit, President Vejonis is also scheduled to meet with Chung Sye-kyun, Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea, participate in the opening of the new building of the Latvian Embassy in Seoul and meeting with managers of Korean electronics giant Samsung. An agreement was reached to open a research and development center in Riga.
Vejonis' visit to South Korea is the first visit of a Latvian head of state to this country. Vejonis is accompanied on his trip by Economics Minister Arvils Aseradens (Unity) and Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (Unity), as well as a delegation of entrepreneurs.
