Samsung Electronics сообщает о получении сертификата Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) 1.3 серией вычислительных модулей Samsung Artik 05x.

Микрокомпьютеры Samsung Artik 05x стали первыми в мире одномодульными системами, получившими сертификат OCF 1.3.

Samsung Announces World’s First Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) 1.3 Certified System-on-Module

Ltd. today announced Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) 1.3 certification for the Samsung ARTIK™ 05x series of modules, the first system-on-module family to be certified using new OCF standards for trust and connectivity for IoT. With the ARTIK™ 05x series, companies can quickly build Wi-Fi™ enabled edge products that meet OCF standards for interoperability, and take advantage of the ARTIK™ platform’s built-in hardware and software solutions to ensure reliability, safety and privacy for connected products.
The OCF certification program ensures companies can create products that work seamlessly with other OCF certified IoT devices regardless of their form factor, operating system or service providers. Бытовая техника южнокорейских марок Samsung и LG может начать работать в единой экосистеме "интернета вещей" уже до конца текущего года, сообщает бизнес-портал The Investor со ссылкой на анонимные источники в отрасли.
Два техногиганта в настоящее время разрабатывают продукты, сертифицированные в соответствии с требованиями Фонда открытых коммуникаций (Open Connectivity Foundation или сокращённо OCF), что предусматривает соединение по беспроводным интернет-протоколам девайсов от различных производителей.
OCF, созданный в феврале прошлого года, в настоящее время объединяет 300 компаний-участниц, включая Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Intel, Microsoft, Qualcomm и Electrolux.
"Помимо смарт-холодильников и кондиционеров мы планируем получить сертификат для большего числа продуктов, включая стиральные машины и кухонные приборы для приготовления пищи. Сертифицированные продукты могут быть запущены уже в этом году", - сказал неназванный источник в Samsung.
Новые флагманские смартфоны Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, как сообщается, уже имеет сертификат OCF.
Представитель другого южнокорейского конкурента Samsung - LG Electronics, также подтвердил разработку смарт-холодильника, соответствующего требованиям OCF, однако не уточнил дату его появления на рынке. При этом отраслевые источники говорят, что эта модель должна быть выпущена до конца 2017 года.
Когда упомянутые продукты появятся в домохозяйствах, пользователи смогут без проблем объединять "умные" девайсы различных марок и контролировать всю экосистему посредством смартфона, планшета, телевизора или смарт-часов. Уже имеющиеся в продаже на некоторых рынках смарт-холодильники серии Samsung Family Hub, работающие на операционной платформе TIZEN OS, уже позволяют подключать к ним различные приборы по беспроводным протоколам.
При этом Google, Apple и Amazon пытаются выстроить свои собственные домашние смарт-платформы, игнорируя рекомендации OCF. Принесёт ли такая политика технологического изоляционизма пользу, ещё неизвестно. 
Samsung и LG, доминирующие на глобальном мировом рынке бытовой техники, имеют шанс укрепить свои позиции в секторе "интернета вещей", широко внедрив сертифицированные OCF подключённые смарт-девайсы в нашу повседневную жизнь, говорят отраслевые эксперты.
По данным аналитической компании Gartner, количество подключённых IoT-устройств превысит отметку в 20 миллиардов единиц ещё до 2020 года, а объём этого рынка составит  $2,9 триллиона.

Samsung, LG products may become compatible this year

Samsung and LG’ s home appliances and devices may become compatible with one another as early as this year, according to sources on June 13.
The two Korean tech giants are currently each developing products certified by the Open Connectivity Foundation, an industry group developing specification standards to connect devices made by different brands.
The OCF, which was set up in February last year, currently has around 300 member firms including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Intel, Microsoft, Qualcomm and Electrolux.
Samsung’s premium air conditioners and refrigerators have already been certified by the OCF and more products are expected to be certified this year, according to sources. 
“Apart from the air conditioners and refrigerators, we plan to get a certification for more diverse products including washing machines and cooking tools this year. (The certified products) can be launched as early as this year,” an anonymous source from Samsung told The Korea Herald.
Samsung’s new flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 was also reportedly certified by the OCF. 
Samsung’s local rival LG Electronics said it is also “developing a smart refrigerator to get the OCF certification” without clarifying on the time frame.
Industry sources said LG aims to get the certification and launch the smart refrigerator this year.  
When Samsung and LG launch the interoperable products this year or next year at the latest, consumers will be able to control one brand’s product through the other. 
For instance, a user can check food inside LG’s smart refrigerator through Samsung’s smart television screen. Currently, their products are not compatible with each other. 
The latest move of the Korean tech giants comes as more global firms competitively join the race to take the lead in the Internet of Things-based smart home market. Google, Apple and Amazon are building their own smart home platforms without joining the OCF. 
Google and Amazon are upgrading their artificial intelligent speakers Google Home and Amazon Echo, respectively, which can be connected with diverse devices and home appliances. Apple unveiled its artificial intelligence speaker HomePod this month, which features Siri voice integration and will function as a home assistant. 
“But, when Samsung and LG produce more interoperable appliances in the smart home market, their influence may become bigger in the market because they have a relative upper hand in the home appliances market,” Kim added.
According to market research firm Gartner, the number of IoT-based devices will reach more than 20 billion units by 2020, with a market volume of US$2.9 trillion.

Samsung и LG возглавили организацию по стандартизации в сфере "интернета вещей" (IoT)

Примерно через месяц будут приняты первые международные стандарты в сфере IoT (Internet of Things/интернет вещей), установленные организацией, во главе которой доминируют южнокорейские техногиганты Samsung Electronics и LG Electronics. Об этом сегодня сообщил портал ETnews.
Стандарты предполагают создание единых протоколов для соединения любых смарт-устройств (в том числе посредством систем ультраскоростной мобильной связи 5-го поколения 5G) различных производителей электроники, что позволит избежать дублирования и повысит безопасность в нарождающейся IoT-индустрии.
Мало того, что Samsung и LG взяли на себя ведущую роль в области стандартизации, но они также создали полную линейку собственных передовых решений для глобального внедрения ToT буквально во всех современных отраслях.
Фактически возглавляемая южнокорейскими специалистами организация «OCF» (Open Connectivity Forum), являющаяся глобальной группой стандартизации (в неё входят 350 крупнейших компаний) для IoT-бизнеса, намерена завершить работу по выработке первого пакета стандартов под названием «OCF 1.0» к концу следующего месяца, после чего документы будут представлены всем заинтересованным сторонам. 
OCF представил проект OCF 1.0 22 марта прошлого года и в настоящее время рассматривает вопросы прав на интеллектуальную собственность. Если никаких возражений от проверяющих комиссий не последует в течение 60 дней после обнародования всех документов 21-го мая, OCF 1.0 будет принят в качестве глобального международного стандарта. Вполне вероятно, что пакет стандартизирующих регламентов будет окончательно принят в конце мая - начале июня. 
Стандарты описывают условия и технологии обмена данными в шести различных областях: ядро системы, устройства для "умного дома" (Smart Home), отображение интерфейса и безопасность. Суть устанавливаемых стандартов заключается в создании условий для "бесшовной" свзи любых IoT-устройств между собой в сочетании с поддержкой передовых систем защиты данных.
Предполагается, что внедрение OCF 1.0 историческим поворотным моментом в развитии всемирной IoT-экосистемы, поскольку новые стандарты способны сломать барьеры, которые "отсекают" устройства одних производителей от других. Иными словами, если сравнить смарт-девайсы с автомобилями различных марок (у них могут быть весьма отличающиеся "двигатели", то есть операционные системы), то можно констатировать, что OCF 1.0 - это единое "топливо" на котором все эти автомобили смогут ездить. 
Это также прекрасная возможность для Samsung Electronics и LG Electronics, которые являются ведущими мировыми производителями бытовой техники. Установленные стандарты позволят совершить настоящий прорыв в сфере IoT и уже к 2020 году практически все новые электронные устройства будут оснащены набором "интеллектуальных" функций, что значительно повысит бытовой комфорт многих миллионов людей.
Корпорация Samsung не изменила своей официально провозглашённой программе "интернетизации" всей выпускаемой ею продукции на базе универсальной операционной платформы TIZEN, которая станет "мозгом" создаваемой IoT-экосистемы. Уже сегодня на TIZEN работают десятки миллионов различных устройств Samsung - от телевизоров до смартфонов и от стиральных машин до кондиционеров. Все они обладают способностью "общаться" со своими владельцами и предоставляют огромное количество невиданных доселе возможностей. International Standards for IoT Field That Is Led by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics to Be Established Next Month

First international standards for IoT (Internet of Things) field that has been led by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are going to be finalized at the end of next month. When these standards are applied, there will be a generation where all of IoT products are connected to each other regardless of different countries and manufacturers. Not only did Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics take the lead in standardization but they have also made their current technologies compatible and grabbed opportunities to seize upper hands in global IoT industries.
According to industries on the 19th, ‘OCF (Open Connectivity Forum)’, which is a global standardization group for IoT, is going to finalize and announce IoT standards called ‘OCF 1.0’ by end of next month at the earliest.
OCF introduced a draft of OCF 1.0 on the 22nd of last March and is currently reviewing intellectual property rights. If there are no objections during a review period that will last 60 days starting from the 21st of May, it is going to finalize OCF 1.0 as global standards. It is likely that announcement will be made at the end of May at the earliest and early June at the latest.
Standards are composed of six different fields such as core, Smart Home device, interface mapping, and security. Main point of these standards is to link all of IoT products through these standards.
It seems that establishment of standards will become the biggest turning point in developing IoT ecosystem as they are able to break down barriers that had been interfering with connectivity.
This is also a great opportunity for Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics that are leading global home appliance markets. As members of OCF, they have been leading standardization and supporting related technologies. Foundation of OCF 1.0 especially is built by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. OIC, which was the previous name for OCF, was led by Samsung Electronics and Intel while LG Electronics had been participating as the major member of AllSeen Alliance, which is a standardization organization that merged with OCF last year, and had led development of technologies. This indicates that Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have been leading development of technologies that will become foundation of OCF 1.0.
Samsung Electronics’ goal is to apply IoT to all of its products by 2020. According to its plan, it is actively increasing number of its products such as Family Hub refrigerator, Smart TV, breeze-free air conditioner, and Smart Oven that are applied with IoT. LG Electronics also has its eyes on Smart Home including IoT as the future of its home appliance business. Not only LG Electronics is going to apply IoT to variety of its home appliance products but it has also developed ‘Smart ThinQ’ that changes normal home appliance products into Smart home appliance products.
“Because about 350 companies are participating in OCF, IoT ecosystem will expand rapidly when standards are established.” said a representative for an electronic industry. “When technologies that are presented by a particular member become standards, its technologies will be similar to standards. From this point of view, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will have opportunities to grab upper hands in related markets while IoT ecosystem is expanding.”
When international standards are established, it is likely that Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will also work on making standards for South Korea. They are planning to establish domestic standards as TTA (Telecommunications Technology Association) standards with OCF Korea Forum, which was established as the OCF national forum for the first time in the world, at the center.
“If South Korea’s small and medium companies including Samsung and LG apply domestic standards as soon as possible, it will be an opportunity for them to grab upper hands in global IoT markets.” said a representative for OCF Forum Korea.
OCF is a group that has its name changed when OIC, which was established in 2014, absorbed UPnP Forum in 2015 and had Microsoft and Qualcomm join. It has grown as a clear-cut representative group for IoT standards as it merged with AllSeen Alliance in last October.
