Samsung официально представил новый планшет топ-уровня Galaxy Tab S4 (2018)

Сегодня на официальном youtube-канале Samsung опубликована видеопрезентация  нового планшета Galaxy Tab S4. 
Информация об этой новинке ранее уже неоднократно появлялась в профильных ресурсах, однако окончательные спецификации и возможности этого девайса были подтверждены в первый день августа 2018.
Практически все надежды, возлагаемые на новый девайс, подтвердились. Здесь вам и поддержка интеллектуального голосового помощника Bixby, и увеличенный объём оперативной (4Гб) и постоянной флэш-памяти, работа с картами microSD повышенной вместимости (до 400Гб), отличный Super AMOLED-дисплей (диагональ 10.5", соотношение сторон 16:10), улучшенные камеры и 4-канальный звуковой тракт от легендарного австрийского брэнда AKG с поддержкой Dolby Atmos, электронное перо S-Pen, работа в формате настольного PC благодаря совместимости с док-станцией, клавиатурой и Bluetooth-"мышкой", порт Type-C USB 3.1 (Gen 1), работа с беспроводными протоколами Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1.
Ёмкость аккумуляторной батареи составляет 7.300мАч, чего хватит для 16-часовой демонстрации видеоконтента. Время на полную подзарядку - не более 200 минут. 
В качестве "двигателя" применён 8-ядерный процессор Qualcomm MSM8998 (2.35GHz + 1.9GHz), а работает девайс на базе операционной системы Android O. Активировать планшет можно с помощью идентификатора лица и анализа радужной оболочки глаз. Если размера экрана планшета владельцу будет недостаточно, гаджет можно подключить к монитору или телевизору через фирменный адаптер Samsung DeX.
В зависимости от модификации и региона продаж Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 может комплектоваться разным объёмом встроенной флэш-памяти и наличием/отсутствием LTE-модуля.

Productivity with Samsung DeX and S Pen

With the Galaxy Tab S4, Samsung is bringing Samsung DeX to the tablet for the first time. When connected to the optional Book Cover Keyboard (sold separately) or launched from the Quick Panel, the Galaxy Tab S4 powers on Samsung DeX, giving users the option to switch from the Android interface to a desktop experience. With Samsung DeX, you can open multiple desktop-style windows for your Android apps, including the Microsoft Office suite, directly on the Galaxy Tab S4, and re-size them when needed. Мистер Дудл открывает мир креатива на Doodle World Exhibition

Услышав слово doodling (производное от doodle = чёрточки, каракули, прим.перев.), вы, вероятно, вспоминаете о бессмысленных рисунках в блокнотах во время бесконечных совещаний в конце дня или телефонных разговоров. Однако для Сэма Кокса (Sam Cox) doodling – это не способ избавиться от скуки, а возможность осуществить мечту. 24-летний британский художник, известный под псевдонимом Mr. Doodle, зарабатывает на жизнь, продавая через интернет свои уникальные граффити в стиле doodle.
В 2015 году Сэм Кокс получил широкую известность благодаря созданию pop-up онлайн магазина Appear Hear, который был трансформирован в большую инсталляцию произведений doodle-арт, собравшую 36 миллионов просмотров. Он запустил сайт www.mrdoodle.com, на котором можно найти информацию об этом виде искусства, а также приобрести печатные материалы и изделия с doodle-рисунками. В этом месяце в корейском музее современного искусства Ara Art Center Сэм Кокс открыл всемирную выставку Doodle World Exhibition. Mr. Doodle Unlocks the Creativity of the Galaxy Note With S Pen-Inspired Doodle Exhibition

When you think of doodling, you probably think of mindless scribbles on a legal pad made during those long, afternoon meetings. But for Sam Cox, doodling isn’t for staving off boredom – it’s a dream come true. The 24-year-old British artist, known as Mr. Doodle, has earned a dedicated online following for his unique graffiti style doodles.
In 2015, he made a viral hit with Appear Hear’s pop-up store, which he transformed into a massive doodle art installation, garnering 36 million views. Since then he has created www.mrdoodle.com, where you can find information about his art and appearances as well as purchase prints and merchandise. But he’s not just an online sensation, he also draws a crowd at his offline events.
In one such event, Cox participated in a doodle marathon to raise money for sick children. He was also appointed the spokesperson for the Korea Foster Care Center in May 2018. His success has led to collaborations with brands like Macy’s, MTV, New Balance, and most recently, Samsung.
Cox opened the Doodle World exhibition this month at the Ara Art Center — his first in Korea — featuring artwork drawn with Samsung devices. For just a small fee, visitors can borrow a Galaxy S9+ to be their audio guide as they walk through a variety of doodle installations, including a wall with a screen made of 132 Galaxy Note 8s showing Mr. Doodle’s work created with the S Pen. In another S Pen gallery, guests can take selfies with the Galaxy Note8 and decorate it with Mr. Doodle’s artwork, which they can then send to themselves via email as a souvenir.
The Doodle World gallery runs from July 4 to September 9, and a portion of audio guide fees will be donated to the Korea Foster Care Center.

Голландский портал LetsGoDigital продолжает публиковать сведения о всё новых патентных документах Samsung. На сей раз речь идёт о новом методе работы сенсорного экрана для мобильных устройств.
Независимо от того, какое приложение используется, владельцы смартфонов (видимо имеется ввиду серия Galaxy Note) смогут создать поверх него "дополнительный слой" с помощью электронного пера S Pen для написания оперативных заметок.
Для этой функции будет задействован датчик, определяющий силу нажатия на дисплей. После того, как пользователь закончит создание текста, мобильное устройство снова переключится на программу, поверх которой был открыт дополнительный слой.
Кроме того, патент описывает способ передачи записи, созданной на мобильном устройстве Samsung, на другой смартфон, планшет, компьютер, принтер или "умное" IoT-устройство. Предположительно, новые функции могут появиться в будущем флагмане Galaxy Note 9.
Также LetsGoDiDital упоминает ещё один патент Samsung, связанный с S Pen. Речь идёт о возможности одновременного использования как электронного стилуса, так и пальца, что позволяет оперативнее работать с отображаемыми на экране данными. Ко всему прочему патент описывает два новых варианта стилуса, обладающих расширенной функциональностью.  

Samsung patents new functions for S Pen

WIPO just published a new patent from Samsung. The patent, filed on February 2, 2017 describes a touchscreen operation method for an electronic device. Regardless of which application is in use, an extra layer can be created with the S Pen, on which users can create a note.
A force sensor will be able to sense a certain pressure level on the display. When a certain pressure is applied, an extra layer will be created on the content that is currently being displayed. The user can make a note on that extra layer. Once the user is finished making an entry, the other content will appear again.
In addition, the patent describes a method for transferring the created memo to other smart devices, including a smartwatch, another smartphone, a monitor, a printer or a smart refrigerator.
Should we see this functionality in the future, this will most likely be in the Galaxy Note 9.

S Pen for Galaxy Note 9?

Samsung Electronics patented an enhanced method of operating a touchscreen display with an S Pen and with your finger. The patent was filed on September 25th, 2017 with WIPO and has been published this week. The original Korean patent was already filed in 2013, one year later a similar patent was filed with the USPTO.
Usually Samsung patents contain very limited English text, but this time both the text and the images are available in Korean and English. Combined with the earlier applied patents it is likely for Samsung to use this technology in its next smartphone with S Pen: the Galaxy Note 9.
The patent shows an user interface with a quick-menu, which enables users to set per action and per application (especially notes) whether they want to operate it with the S Pen or with their finger or with both.
For example, you are writing a memo with the S Pen and you want to remove a letter. Erasing may be faster with your finger, so that sub-item can then be set to ‘finger’.
Furthermore, the patent describes two stylus pen variants. One design similar to the Note 8 and another one that looks like the S Pen with Eraser from 2013. This S pen allows users to write a letter with the pen point and to erase the letter with the opposite side of the pen. The stylus pen of the Note 8 offers users the ability to erase something by using the button on the pen. Both designs are shown in the patent drawings.
In addition to standard movements like; touch, a multi touch, a tap, a double tap, a long tap, a drag, a flick, a press, a pinch in, a pinch out and a scroll. Users can also draw patterns with their finger, including a Z-movement and a round, clockwise and counterclockwise.
Users will be able to set separate sub-settings, such as thickness, transparency and color for both the finger and the S Pen. The Galaxy Note will recognize which form of touch input takes place (finger or S Pen) and will use the corresponding settings.

14 апреля в российской сети фирменных магазинов Samsung, а также в торговой сети М.Видео начались продажи планшетов Galaxy Tab S3.
Версия со встроенным модулем Wi-Fi оценена в 54.990 рублей, а с поддержкой сотовой связи — 59 990 рублей.
Одна из главных особенностей Galaxy Tab S3 — наличие в комплекте нового стилуса S Pen. С его помощью можно редактировать изображения, монтировать видео, переводить текст и даже делать заметки на выключенном экране. Планшет оснащён дисплеем Super AMOLED с диагональю 9,7", который поддерживает контент вплоть до 4K с HDR. Кроме того, Galaxy Tab S3 — первый планшет Samsung с квадрофонической акустикой AKG/HARMAN. Напомним, что недавно Samsung приобрёл этот известный аудиоконгломерат за 8 миллиардов долларов вместе со всеми входящими в него филиалами (помимо AKG в империю HARMAN входят такие знаменитые брэнды как JBL, Harman/Kardon, Mark Levinson, Infinity, Studer, Lexicon и ряд других)
Galaxy Tab S3 оснащён 13-Мп основной камерой с автофокусом и 5-Мп фронтальной камерой. Время автономной работы — 12 часов, причём аккумулятор поддерживает функцию быстрой зарядки.
Технология Samsung Flow, использующая биометрическую аутентификацию, позволяет по беспроводной связи подключать к Galaxy Tab S3 совместимые устройства для передачи документов и другой информации.
Глобальная презентация Galaxy Tab S3 состоялась 27 февраля на Всемирном мобильном конгрессе MWC 2017 в Барселоне.
Уже 18 апреля Samsung начал рассылку нового обновления для своего премиального планшета. Прошивка под номером T825XXU1AQD6 предназначена только для LTE-версии. Обновление добавляет исправления в систему безопасности Android. Кроме того, обновление также содержит некоторые улучшения работы системы, что связано с исправлением ряда ошибок.
Как обычно в таких случаях, для появления автоматического уведомления о выходе OTA, может потребоваться некоторое время. Но владелец устройства может вручную проверить наличие свежей прошивки, выбрав соответствующий пункт в меню «Настройки».

Будущий флагман Samsung Galaxy Note 8 засветился на рендерах

Используя немногочисленные утечки в СМИ и различные слухи, энтузиасты решили создать наглядную визуализацию, демонстрирующую вероятный дизайн следующего флагмана Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
Дизайнеры учли слухи относительно сдвоенной камеры, которую Samsung использует впервые в смартфоне самого высокого класса, а также нескольких динамиков — их у фаблета сразу три. На динамическом рендере не видно сканера отпечатков пальцев, что подразумевает его перенос под стекло дисплея.
Стилистически Galaxy Note 8 повторяет нынешний флагман Galaxy S8, но традиционно корпус линейки Note имеет более чёткую форму без скруглений и плавных линий. Толщина смартфона минимальна, дисплей загнут по краям, но место для стилуса S Pen всё же нашлось. Есть аудиопрот и USB Type‑C.
Характеристики дизайнер не указывает, отмечена лишь диагональ дисплея в 6,4". Похоже, что фаблет станет чуть больше Galaxy S8 Plus, что ожидаемо. Начинка, отвечающая за производительность, по большей части должна быть унаследована от Galaxy S8. Изменения, скорее всего, последуют лишь в плане ёмкости аккумулятора, конструкции камер и аудиосистемы.
Анонс смартфона ожидается в конце лета или в начале осени в рамках выставки IFA 2017 в Берлине.
