Samsung официально представил на китайском рынке новый мобильный гаджет Galaxy C8. Это третий смартфон Samsung с двойной камерой. Первым стал флагманский Galaxy Note 8, а несколько дней назад дебютировал Galaxy J7+ среднего уровня.
Смартфон получил металлический корпус, сканер отпечатков пальцев в домашней кнопке, функцию Always On Display (постоянно выведенная на экран информация о времени, погоде, получении сообщений) и приложение Bixby Home.
Аппарат оснащается 5,5-дюймовым Super AMOLED-дисплеем (Full HD / 1920х1080 пикселей), 16-Мп фронтальной камерой со вспышкой и двойной основной камерой 13+5 Мп. Аппаратной основой стал 8-ядерный процессор MediaTek Helio P20, 3 или 4Гб ОЗУ и 32 или 64Гб встроенной флэш-памяти с возможностью расширения карточками microSD объёмом до 256Гб.
Ёмкость аккумулятора составляет 3000 мАч. В смартфоне предустановлена операционная система Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Поддерживаются две SIM-карты, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11), Bluetooth 4.2 и GPS. Размеры составляют 152,4x74.7x7,9 мм, а вес - 180 граммов.

Samsung Galaxy C8 Is Official With Dual Rear Cameras

Samsung Electronics on Thursday officially announced the Galaxy C8, the latest addition to its mid-range smartphone family and yet another one of its handsets with a dual camera setup after the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy J7+. The latter model is essentially the one that the South Korean original equipment manufacturer (OEM) also unveiled today, save for a new name and some minor differences. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 system-on-chip (SoC) and comes in two variants, with the more affordable one having 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory, whereas the other model ships with 64GB of storage space and 4GB of RAM. The rear side of the Galaxy C8 houses a dual camera setup entailing a 13-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel module, with the two being arranged in a vertical manner and accompanied by a dual-LED (dual tone) flash unit beneath them.
The handset itself features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display panel with a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution and a conventional aspect ratio of 16:9. Beneath its surface is a 3,000mAh battery which doesn’t seem to be removable, with the Galaxy C8’s hardware also coming with support for 4G LTE, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.2. The dual-SIM smartphone is equipped with a USB Type-C port and compatible with MediaTek’s proprietary Pump Express 3.0 fast charging technology. The Galaxy C8 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with this particular version of Google’s operating system being modified with Samsung’s mobile software suite which the company is nowadays advertising as the Samsung Experience. Bixby is apparently part of the package here, meaning that Samsung’s artificial intelligence (AI) assistant is now finally available in China after being delayed on several occasions. However, unlike the Galaxy S8 lineup and the recently announced Galaxy Note 8, the Galaxy C8 doesn’t seem to be equipped with a physical Bixby key for activating Samsung’s digital companion.
The Seoul-based consumer electronics manufacturer has yet to reveal pricing and availability details on the Galaxy C8 in China, though the device is likely to start at around 2,000 yen, or $307. The company has been struggling to make an impact in the Far Eastern country in recent years and it remains to be seen whether the Galaxy C8 ends up being the device that will finally help it bounce back and regain some of the market share it lost to local OEMs.

Если эту информацю принять за основу, то база TENAA указывает, что смартфон получит 5,5 дюймовый AMOLED-дисплей с разрешением Full HD, 8-ядерную платформу (скорее всего MediaTek Helio P20), 3 или 4Гб ОЗУ, 32 или 64 Гб флэш-памяти. Сдвоенная камера должна комплектоваться сенсорными модулями разрешением 13 и 5 Мп, фронтальная - 16Мп. Ёмкость аккумулятора должна составить 3000 мА·ч.

Even though Samsung has been doing its best in order to keep Galaxy C8 hidden so that it can use the element of surprise when it finally decides to launch it, the smartphone was still leaked by a Chinese online retailer. Moreover, Galaxy C8 appeared under the “SM-C7100” build number. In addition, Samsung’s upcoming device is said to feature high-end specs and an affordable price at the same time. However, things get better now since an official press render and the smartphone’s launch date have been leaked on Weibo, the Chinese version of Reddit.

Right off the bat, the most important piece of information that this recent Weibo leak unveils is the fact that Galaxy C8 will be launched on September 7th. The smartphone’s launch date seems to be a jab that’s thrown directly at Apple since iPhone 8 is scheduled to come out on September 12th. However, this is certainly not the case since Galaxy C8 and iPhone 8 don’t fit in the same category.
As previously mentioned, Galaxy C8 is said to be affordable and premium at the same time. Even though the words premium and affordable don’t usually match together, it seems like Samsung managed to find a way to do it. The leaked press render shows us that Galaxy C8 will ship with a standard Samsung design and that it will lack a rear mounted finger print sensor and Infinity display. The reason why Samsung decided to use this type of design is because it had to compromise on key design features in order to still be able to equip it with high-end hardware specs.

Premium Hardware Specs

While features such as a dual camera setup and fingerprint sensor are nice to have, high-end hardware parts are what make a smartphone fit in the premium category. The smartphone will feature an octa-core processor that’s been clocked at 2.3GHz and which is also coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Moreover, Galaxy C8 will also sport 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage space.
