Около года назад Samsung объявил о запуске в производство портативного компьютера серии Galaxy Book S с процессором Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx, а теперь сообщил о появлении его модификации с другой платформой — Intel Lakefield.
Это первый в мире ноутбук с гибридным процессором Intel Lakefield (Intel Hybrid Technology). Несмотря на высокую производительность, активное охлаждение устройству не требуется: тепло отводит трубка и металлический корпус. В результате обеспечена абсолютно бесшумная работа устройства.
Кроме того, ноутбук получил 13,3-дюймовый сенсорный дисплей с разрешением Full HD (1920×1080 пикселей), 8Гб ОЗУ LPDDR4x, 256 или 512Гб (в зависимости от конфигурации) хранилища eUFS, сканер отпечатков пальцев, 1 Мп камеру, аудиосистему AKG с 4-мя динамиками, датчик освещённости, клавиатуру с подсветкой, Wi-Fi 6 и Bluetooth 5.0.
За автономность отвечает аккумулятор ёмкостью 42 Вт·ч. Операционная система — Windows 10 (Home или Pro). Из разъёмов имеется 2 порта USB Type-C, 3,5-мм для наушников и слот для карты памяти microSD объёмом до 1Тб.
В официальном пресс-релизе отмечается, что этот высокопроизводительный ноутбук (для своего класса) получил тонкий и лёгкий корпус. Его габариты: 305,2×203,2×6,2–11,8 мм, вес — 950 г. На выбор предлагаются расцветки Earthy Gold и Mercury Gray.
Как уже давно повелось, Samsung предлагает свои компьютеры на ограниченном числе рынков во избежание конкуренции с крупными заказчиками его электронных компонентов для PC. Обычно свои фирменные PC южнокорейский техногигант продаёт у себя на родине, а также в США, Китае, Бразилии, Сингапуре и в некоторых странах Западной Европы.

Портативные PC Samsung Galaxy Book с QLED-дисплеями поступили в продажу, но официально доступны лишь в нескольких странах

Странная политика Samsung в отношении продаж своих персональных компьютеров (PC) почти заставила забыть об их существовании в большинстве стран мира, несмотря на очень высокое качество изготовления, отличные комплектующие и дизайн. Говорят, что южнокорейский конгломерат, получающий огромную прибыль от поставок электронных компонентов другим производителей таких продуктов, просто не хочет вступать с ними в открытую конкуренцию, чтобы не потерять крупных заказчиков этих самых комплектующих.
Как бы то ни было, но в настоящее время ноутбуки Samsung, помимо Южной Кореи, можно найти разве что на рынках США, Китая, Бразилии, Великобритании и ещё нескольких стран.
Однако, сторонники марки имеют возможность заказать такие девайсы через международные интернет-магазины, где действует официальная гарантия производителя. В России, правда, зарубежные покупки становятся всё менее выгодными из-за постоянно увеличивающихся пошлин на интернет-торговлю (тут надо сказать отдельное "спасибо" кремлёвскому руководству, котое работает исключительно в интересах местной торговой олигархии и китайских бизнесменов, чувствующих себя в России более чем комфортно).
Но это, можно сказать, "лирическое отступление" от темы. Ведь наша задача, по большей части, заключается в информировании наших читателей о продуктах южнокорейского техногиганта и особенностях их эксплуатации.
Итак, сегодня в продажу поступили компьютеры серии Galaxy Book, в которых применяются QLED-дисплеи. Флагманской моделью здесь выступает Galaxy Book Flex, который поставляется с фирменным стилусом S-Pen, а самым «бюджетным» вариантом выступает Galaxy Book Flex Alpha, стоимость базовой комплектации которого составляет $850. Между ними расположился Galaxy Book Ion.
Самый доступный Galaxy Book Flex Alpha оснащён 13,3-дюймовым QLED-дисплеем с разрешением 1920×1080 пикселей. Ноутбук доступен в комплектациях с 8 или 12Гб оперативной памяти DDR4. Ёмкость встроенного NVMe-накопителя может составлять 256, 512 или 1024 Гбайт. Galaxy Book Alpha получил поддержку современного протокола беспроводной связи Wi-Fi 6. Вес устройства составляет скромные 1,19 кг, а в качестве процессоров применяются чипы Intel Core 10-го поколения. 
Galaxy Book Ion и Flex будут доступны в модификациях с 13,3- или 15,6-дюймовым QLED дисплеем. В обоих случаях его разрешение будет составлять 1920×1080 пикселей. 13,3-дюймовые модели используют интегрированный в процессор видеоускоритель Intel Iris Plus или Intel UHD Graphics, а для 15,6-дюймовых устройств доступна модификация с дискретной видеокартой NVIDIA GeForce MX250 с 2Гб памяти GDDR5. Максимальный объём оперативной памяти для Galaxy Book Ion и Flex составляет 16 Гбайт. 13,3-дюймовая модификация Galaxy Book Ion станет самой лёгкой в новом модельном ряду. Её вес составляет всего 0,97 кг. В ноутбуках используются процессоры Intel Ice Lake 10-го поколения.
Все ноутбуки получат высококачественные стереодинамики, разработанные совместно с AKG. Galaxy Book Flex в максимальной комплектации с 15,6-дюймовым дисплеем будет стоить $1399. Если такая стоимость покажется слишком высокой, имеет смысл обратить внимание на Galaxy Book Ion, который предлагает те же технические характеристики, что и старшая модель, однако упакован в корпус из магниевого сплава, а не из алюминия, и имеет более простой шарнирный механизм.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Book laptops are now available for purchase in the United States

All three laptops — the Galaxy Book Flex, Flex Alpha, and Ion — are equipped with the latest 10th Gen chips from Intel. The Flex and Ion are also certified as part of Intel’s Project Athena program. That means if you purchase one of these two models, you should get up to nine hours of battery life, which is ideal if you are a professional working from home or a college student (who will, eventually, be on the go).
The Galaxy Book Flex and Ion were announced back in October, but Samsung did not give a release date outside of “early 2020.” Samsung announced another laptop in the Galaxy Book series, the Galaxy Flex Alpha, at CES 2020. The Flex Alpha is meant for those looking at Samsung’s 2-in-1 laptop line who want a less expensive price range.
The lineup includes some intriguing features: they are the first Samsung laptops to use a QLED display, which is the same display technology that the company uses in its high-end flat-screen TVs.
Alongside new screen display tech, the Galaxy Book Flex and Ion include a neat feature that lets your trackpad double as a wireless charger. However, the trackpad is unavailable if it’s being used for wireless charging, so its usefulness is limited unless you have an external mouse.
The Galaxy Flex Alpha starts at $849.99 but can go up to $999.99 if you upgrade your internal memory and processor. The Galaxy Book Ion starts at $1,199.99 for a 13.3-inch model, and its 15.6-inch model sells for $1,299.99. The Galaxy Book Flex is priced at $1,349.99 for the 13.3-inch model and 1,399.99 for the 15.6-inch version.
