Сегодня корпорация Samsung Electronics объявила, что её стиральная машина серии QuickDrive получила звание "Стиральная машина года" от британского оценщика потребительской техники Trusted Review.

Южнокорейский производитель бытовой техники указывает, что QuickDrive выделяется на фоне других стиральных машин, представленных на рынке, поскольку позволяет сократить цикл на 50% без ущерба качеству стирки.
Другими заметными особенностями серии QuickDrive являются дверца AddWash, которая позволяет добавлять бельё во время процесса стирки и возможность подключения к мобильным устройствам для дистанционного управления через универсальное приложение SmartThings. Оно рекомендует оптимизированные циклы в зависимости от типа и веса загружаемых в барабан вещей.

Samsung's QuickDrive washing machine wins top award in Britain

Samsung Electronics Co. said Tuesday its QuickDrive washing machine won was named the washing machine of the year by British evaluator Trusted Review.
"We awarded the smart washing machine five out of five stars in our review, in which we could barely praise it enough. It's super-easy to use, and Samsung's innovative QuickDrive drum, which features three paddles that rotate independently of the drum itself, allows for much shorter wash times," Trusted Review said in its report.
The South Korean home appliance giant said the QuickDrive stands out from other washers on the market as it reduces the washing time by up to 50 percent without compromising cleaning performance.
Other notable features of the QuickDrive washer are the AddWash door, which allows users to add more laundry during the washing process, and its connectivity with the SmartThings application, which recommends optimized cycles depending on the type of laundry.

Микеланджело более 2-х лет работал над оригинальной скульптурой «Давид», которая сегодня находится в Галерее Академии изящных искусств во Флоренции. Бронзовая скульптура «Мыслитель» Родена, широко известная своей задумчивой позой, находится в музее Родена в Париже.
Новые произведения искусства, конечно, можно интерпретировать по-разному, так же, как и классические. Одни считают, что оригинальный «Мыслитель» погрузился в размышления, другие – что он о чём-то горюет. Современное прочтение позволяет предположить, что мужчина озадачен, потому что не может выбрать нужный режим стирки.

В исследовании Samsung представлены новые данные об отношении мужчин и женщин к дому и быту. Как выяснили учёные, многие мужчины подвержены боязни бытовой техники.
3/4 (75%) мужчин признались, что не понимают, как пользоваться домашней техникой, среди женщин эта доля составила лишь 39%. Кроме того, более половины (51%) опрошенных мужчин рассказали, что откладывают работу по дому на потом, потому что бытовая техника кажется им слишком сложной в использовании.
Самыми непонятными для мужчин оказались стиральные машины – 63% представителей сильного пола признались, что не имеют представления о том, что означают настройки на машине и знаки на этикетках белья. Более того, выполняя задание по расшифровке символов об уходе за текстильными изделиями (например, «не отжимать» или «деликатная стирка»), в 9 случаях из 10 мужчины показали худший результат, чем женщины.
Статуи «Домашний Давид» и «Чистый мыслитель» были установлены в центре Лондона, в том числе в торговом центре One New Change, на вокзале Кингс-Кросс, на площади Рассел-сквер и в парке Баттерси.

Statues take over London hotspots as new research reveals many men find domestic appliances confusing

Two of the world’s most famous male statues have been spectacularly reimagined as domestic gods for a bold new Samsung campaign.

The figures, which have been installed around central London, feature near-identical versions of the original masterpieces bar a few unmissable tweaks.
Michelangelo’s David has been recreated wearing briefs, with a shirt flung over his back, as he takes charge of the weekly wash while Rodin’s ‘The Thinker’ poses, deep in contemplation at a washing machine.
Each statue took a six-strong design team two months to create, working from a variety of sources to recreate a faithful rendition of each sculpture in microscopic detail.  The reimagined statues of iconic male nudes give a humorous nod to revealing new Samsung research which found that 75% of men have little or no idea how to operate the domestic appliances they have at home.
The original David, located in the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, took Michelangelo more than two years to build and weighs the equivalent of eighty men. Rodin’s bronze sculpture The Thinker, revered for its contemplative posture, resides at the Musée Rodin in Paris.
The new artworks are of course, open to interpretation – just as the original Thinker invites us to debate as to whether he is in either a contemplative or mourning pose, Samsung’s modernized male subject could be interpreted as being in a state of confusion, as he ponders which wash cycle to select.
Samsung’s ‘Modern Masterpieces’ campaign has been designed to highlight the durability and flawlessly-rendered design credentials of their Home Appliance range which includes the revolutionary QuickDriveTM washing machines featured in the sculptures.
Samsung’s QuickDriveTM washing machine went through over 150 different tests (tested thousands of times over), before being released to market.
Ruth Storey, Head of Marketing for Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, said:
“We have updated these classic sculptures in a playful bid to remind the public that our home appliances are masterpieces of modern design.

The new Samsung research provides a fresh take on gender differences when it comes to housework. It appears that men are suffering from ‘FODA’, a male condition involving a fear of domestic appliances.
Three quarters (75%) of men admitted to being clueless when it comes to using domestic appliances compared to just 39% of women, and over half of the men surveyed (51%) admitted to having put off a household task because they found the domestic appliance too confusing to use.
It appears that the washing machine instils the most fear in men, with 63% admitting to being completely stumped when trying to work out washing machine settings and laundry care symbols. In fact, when faced with the task of deciphering fabric care label symbols – such as ‘Do Not Tumble Dry’ and ‘Delicate Wet Clean’ – men scored worse than women on 9 out of 10 questions.
The statues of Domestic David and The Clean Thinker have been installed at central London locations including One New Change, Kings Cross, Russell Square and Battersea Park.

Уникальная конструкция барабана Q-Drum™  состоит из самого барабана и независимо вращающейся лопасти в его торцевой части. Лопасть создаёт новый вектор движения – вдоль оси барабана.
