Inside the Galaxy A80’s Revolutionary Rotating Camera

A camera that rotates presents itself as the perfect camera solution for smartphone users in the Era of Live as not only can it expand the rear camera experience to front-facing pictures and videos1, but it can also allow for a true full-screen experience for users to fully engage in their favorite content.
And so, Samsung brought its first rotating camera module to the Galaxy A80.

What Goes Around, Comes Around

Developing a smartphone with a rotating camera was a unique challenge. Existing technologies dictated that in order for a camera to slide up and then rotate from within its device, two motors would be required – an impossible addition to a smartphone given the amount of space for parts this would require.
In order to mitigate this, Samsung developed a solution requiring no extra motor parts that also ensures no premature rotation occurs, thanks to a mechanism complete with locking ‘teeth’, rail and hook. These innovative technologies then entailed an optimization of the motor to ensure it could power the camera’s vertical slide and rotation.

Captivating Camera Quality

The Galaxy A80’s rear camera module features a 48MP Main camera, an Ultra Wide angle lens camera and a 3D Depth camera so that users can capture any moment just as they see it. And when users select selfie mode in the camera app, the rotating camera mechanism brings a powerful triple camera experience to front-facing pictures and videos, too.
In addition to this hardware innovation, Samsung’s engineers understood that using the same lenses for both front and rear perspectives would require optimization of the camera module, as the functionalities of these camera perspectives are different. Therefore, the Galaxy A80’s camera software has been optimized to ensure that the picture quality of the camera is suitable for rear-taken, landscape shots as well as close-up, undistorted selfie pictures.

Ensuring Exceptional Camera Experiences

In order to assess whether these solutions could withstand extensive use for each and every spontaneous selfie moment, the Galaxy A80’s rotating camera underwent full and thorough testing at a dedicated Samsung lab.
Galaxy A80 devices were put through a multitude of quality-testing use case scenarios designed to verify that the hardware and software innovations of the device were able to consistently provide the best camera experience possible, even after extensive use.
In developing the camera module hardware and software for the Galaxy A80, Samsung wanted to create a camera that was able to help people capture what they see, when they see it, how they see it. 17 апреля индийское подразделение Samsung Electronics анонсировало выпуск очередной модели смартфона из популярной линейки Galaxy A.
Новый Galaxy A70 представляе собой мощное мобильное устройство, которое разработано для требовательных пользователей с ограниченным бюджетом.
Заявленный ценник заметно ниже, чем у флагманских аппаратов серии Galaxy S, но при этом новинка не сильно уступает своим старшим собратьям.
Надо отметить, что перосмысление политики Samsung в борьбе с китайскими конкурентами начало приносить свои плоды. На многих рынках (особенно в Индии) южнокорейский техногигант постепенно возвращает лидерские позиции за счёт более оперативного вывода привлекательных и относительно недорогих моделей.
В качестве главного "тарана" была выбрана линейка Galaxy A, которая после основательной "перетрубации" поглотила линейку популярных бюджетников Galaxy J, сохранив при этом средний и премиальный сегменты. В результате получился весьма широкий набор добротных предложений для людей с разным достатком и уровнем требований к своему мобильному помощнику.
Одновременно на смену Galaxy J пришла линейка Galaxy M, которая, как правило, отличается от недорогих аппаратов нижнего сегмента Galaxy A наличием более доступного LCD-дисплея (вместо Super AMOLED в A-серии) и отсутствием модуля NFC, который нужен далеко не всем пользователям.
Новый Galaxy A70 относится к верхнему сегменту самой актуальной линейки Samsung благодаря наличию мощной 3-модульной основной камеры с поддержкой системы искусственного интеллекта (32Mp F1.7 + 8Mp ultra-wide lens F2.2 + 5Mp Depth F2.2), производительного 8-ядерного процессора Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, ёмкого аккумулятора на 4.500 мАч, системы быстрой зарядки и ещё целого ряда "вкусных плюшек" типа современного порта USB Type C, 6Гб ОЗУ, встроенного в экран сканера отпечатков пальцев, раздельного слота для SIM-карты и сменных карт памяти Micro SD (до 512Гб), 128Гб встроенной флэш-памяти и 32-мегапиксельной сэлфи-камеры. 
"Вишенкой на торте" стал новый 6,7-дюймовый Infinity-U Super AMOLED дисплей с разрешением FHD+ (1080x2400). Разумеется, в наличии поддержка фирменной платёжной системы Samsung Pay и актуальной Android 9 на борту.
На территории Индии аппарат поступит в продажу в самом начале мая (предзаказы откроются с 20 апреля) по цене порядка 30.000 в рублёвом эквиваленте. Судя по всему, российского релиза также не придётся ждать слишком долго.

Samsung India announced Galaxy A70, its sixth smartphone in the popular Galaxy A line. Galaxy A70 is a powerful device that has been designed for the fast-paced lives of digital natives. It allows them to share their experiences and stay connected longer.

Galaxy A70 comes with a host of disruptive features, including a 32MP triple rear camera that is capable of shooting stunning super slow-mo videos. Galaxy A70 is also equipped with Samsung Pay which enables consumers to carry their wallet on their phone and pay almost everywhere securely.

Keeping in mind the need of the shutter-bugs, the new Galaxy A70 features an impressive 32MP triple rear camera capable of shooting stunning super slow-mo and ultra-wide videos. The 8MP Ultra-wide lens has a field of view of 123 degree which enables users to capture both ultra-wide images and videos. Как и ожидалось, после недавних утечек из нескольких стран со спецификациями новых моделей коммуникаторов Samsung линейки Galaxy A, производитель представил их официально буквально сутки спустя.
Сегодня в официальном анонсе, опубликованном в новостном ресурсе Samsung Electronics, производитель раскрыл все подробности об этой серии устройств.
Оба смартфона работают на базе однокристальных систем с 8-ядерными CPU: в Galaxy A6 частота процессора Exynos 7870 составляет 1,6 ГГц, а в Snapdragon 450 у Galaxy A6+ – 1,8 ГГц.
Аппараты оснащены дисплеями Super AMOLED с разными диагоналями и разрешением: Galaxy A6 – 5,6 дюйма и 1480 х 720 пикселей, Galaxy A6 – 6 дюймов и 2220 х 1080 пикселей. В продажу поступят модификации с 3-мя и 4-мя гигабайтами ОЗУ для обеих версий и 32Гб флэш-памяти. В обоих случаях поддерживается установка карт памяти microSD объёмом до 256Гб.
Samsung Galaxy A6 получил две камеры. Фронтальная имеет датчик с разрешением 16Мп и объектив с диафрагмой F/1,9, в основной используется датчик того же разрешения, но диафрагма объектива уже F/1,7.
Основная камера у Galaxy A6+ - двойная. В ней применены фотоматрицы с разрешением 16 и 5Мп и объективы с диафрагмой F/1,7 и F/1,9. Вспомогательный датчик в в этой камере используется для анализа глубины сцены, за счёт чего размывать фон можно даже на готовых снимках. Фронтальная камера Galaxy A6+ отличается высоким разрешением 24Мп и приличной диафрагмой F/1,9, но не имеет автоматической фокусировки. Зато с её помощью можно разблокировать устройство (равно как и в младшей модели Galaxy A6).
Общим для этих смартфонов является наличие 7-ми датчиков (включая дактилоскоп на тыльной панели), модули Wi-Fi 802.11n (2,4 и 5 ГГц) и Bluetooth 4.2, порты microUSB, модемы LTE Cat.6 и Android 8. Новинки поддерживают технологии Dolby Atmos (при воспроизведении через наушники), а также позволяют активировать интеллектуальные сервисы Bixby Vision, Bixby Home, Bixby Reminder и систему мобильных платежей Samsung Pay.
Габариты и ёмкость аккумуляторной батареи Samsung Galaxy A6 – 149,9x70,8x7,7 мм и 3000 мА·ч, Galaxy A6+ – 160,2x75,7x7,9 мм и 3500 мА·ч.
Смартфоны поступят в продажу в конце этого месяца в некоторых странах Европы, Азии и Латинской Америки. Позже они станут доступны в Южной Корее, Китае и на африканских рынках.
Стоимость в Европе для базовой модели Galaxy A6 (2018) определена в размере  
310 евро, а за старшую A6+ попросят 370 евро.
