Samsung at CES 2022: No Country for Old Men

For the first time in the last 2 years, Samsung has presented its new products and conceptual designs offline. The first thing that industry observers noticed during the presentation of the South Korean electronics giant was the abundance of young employees on the stage of the expo center in Las Vegas.

Products were shown, mainly aimed at enthusiastic youth who are not too preoccupied with the technical characteristics of electronic gadgets, but are easily bought for bright colors and spectacular promotional videos. It seems that the current top management of Samsung is concerned exclusively with the 15-35 age group. A more mature and educated public does not interest them too much.

Most of the attention was paid to the "multi-colored series" of products under the BESPOKE brand, but almost nothing was said about their consumer properties, and the main emphasis was made only on the colorful design. However, nothing is new in this world. Back in the late 1960s, the Finnish home appliance manufacturer Helkama offered similar solutions, so Samsung is not at all a pioneer here. The main innovative product in the field of household appliances remains the modernized family of smart refrigerators Family Hub, which offers ample opportunities for family communication and various useful services based on the proprietary operating system TIZEN. Also, a new model of a robot vacuum cleaner with an advanced dust suction system and an improved smart platform for more efficient work aroused interest.

As always, the division for the development and production of smart TVs and monitors excelled. In this segment, Samsung has received a record number of CES 2022 awards. Vendor has shown truly impressive solutions in the field of cutting-edge displays and the advanced TIZEN smart TV platform. The world's first multifunctional projector The Freestyle, which can be used in a variety of scenarios - from the familiar home theater to exquisite designer installations in fashion galleries, also sparked great interest from the public and the press. A wide variety of accessories greatly expand the possibilities of using this gadget. The projector can even be turned into a lighting fixture, speaker system or color music installation. This innovative device also runs on the TIZEN operating platform.

According to our informants, Samsung has big plans for introducing TIZEN OS into consumer devices. However, this does not apply to the segment of mobile communicators (smartphones, tablets, smart watches and laptops), where Samsung actually entered into a cartel conspiracy with Google, for which it could suffer greatly in the future.

Похоже, что нынешний топ-менеджмент Samsung озабочен исключительно возрастной категорией 15-35 лет. Более зрелая и образованная публика их не слишком интересует.

Больше всего внимания уделялось "разноцветной серии" продуктов под маркой BESPOKE, причём об их потребительских свойствах почти ничего не говорилось, а основной акцент делался лишь на пёстрый дизайн. Впрочем, ничто не ново в этом мире. Ещё в конце 60-х годов финский производитель бытовой техники Helkama предлагал подобные решения, так что Samsung здесь вовсе не является первопроходцем.

Главным инновационным изделием в сфере бытовой техники остаётся модернизированная линейка смарт-холодильников Family Hub, которая предлагает широкие возможности для семейной коммуникации и различные полезные сервисы на базе фирменной операционной системы TIZEN. Вендор показал действительно впечатляющие решения в области создания передовых дисплеев и продвинутой платформы TIZEN smart TV. Огромный интерес у публики и прессы также вызвал первый в мире многофункциональный проектор The Freestyle, который можно использовать во множестве сценариев - от привычного домашнего кинотеатра до изысканных дизайнерских инсталляций в модных галереях. Большое количество разнообразных аксессуаров значительно расширяют возможности использования этого гаджета. Проектор даже можно превратить в осветительный прибор, акустическую систему или цветомузыкальную установку. Этот девайс также работает на базе операционной платформы TIZEN.

Samsung Expands the TIZEN-powered Smart Monitor Lineup Worldwide to Meet Growing Demand of Do-It-All Displays

Samsung Electronics today announced the global availability of its newly expanded Smart Monitor lineup, providing more display sizes and design options, along with new and enhanced smart features. The lineup now includes a larger 43-inch M7 (UHD resolution) model, delivering enhanced productivity and an immersive entertainment experience. The M5 (FHD resolution) models are now available in 24-inch, 27-inch and 32-inch displays, featuring a sleek design and a stylish new white color option.

The Samsung Smart Monitor series was launched in November 2020 as the world’s first do-it-all screen designed for today’s businesses, academia and consumers who are working, learning and staying entertained at home. The Smart Monitor offers integrated media and productivity apps, versatile connectivity, built-in speakers and a solar cell-powered remote control.[1]

* Smart Monitor M5 27” and 32” in White (Model: M50A) – The popular M5 model now comes in a sleek and stylish white design for both its 27- and 32-inch models. In addition, the remote for other models has been partially crafted from recycled plastic for reduced carbon footprint and enhanced sustainability.

Utilizing the same features as the first-generation lineup, the Samsung Smart Monitor lineup provides numerous connectivity options for both PCs and smartphones. Users can connect their personal mobile devices with just a quick tap using Tap View,[4] Mirroring or with Apple AirPlay 2. In addition, Samsung DeX allows users to enjoy a complete desktop experience by connecting their monitor with their mobile device. Samsung расширил популярные линейки смарт-мониторов серий M5 и M7. Серия Samsung Smart Monitor на базе операционной системы TIZEN была запущена в ноябре 2020 года и предназначена для удовлетворения возрастающих потребностей современных пользователей. В России стартовали продажи смарт-мониторов Samsung

Россия стала одной из последних стран, где наконец-то появились Samsung SMART Monitor на базе TIZEN OS, которые были доступны в странах "1-го эшелона" ещё в ноябре прошлого года. Факт позднего старта продаж лишь подчёркивает всё меньшую привлекательность местного рынка в связи со значительным падением уровня жизни населения. Даже такие развивающиеся страны как Индонезия получили доступ к этим интересным новинкам гораздо раньше. Вялый спрос на территории РФ также заметен и на резко оживившемся рынке премиальных планшетов, поскольку, в отличие от Северной Америки, Samsung не поставляет сюда наиболее привлекательные модификации (например, Galaxy Tab S7+) с расширенным объёмом ОЗУ. Это особенно важно для тех, кто желает монтировать видео в формате 4K.

В сегодняшнем официальном пресс-релизе Samsung Electronics сообщает о глобальной доступности своей новейшей модели Smart Monitor, инновационного универсального монитора.

Разработанная для удовлетворения новых потребностей современных пользователей, которые теперь всё чаще работают, учатся и проводят досуг дома, модель Samsung Smart Monitor включает в себя мощные возможности для подключения к мобильным устройствам и ПК и может использоваться как для работы в режиме удалённого домашнего офиса, так и для обучения. Кроме того, в составе устройства присутствует комплексный центр развлечений Smart Hub. Такой же центр реализован в платформе TIZEN Smart TV.

Пользователи могут подключать свои личные мобильные устройства к монитору простым касанием с помощью приложения Tap View[1] и технологий App Casting или Apple AirPlay 2. Для придания мобильному устройству функционала, приближенного к функционалу настольного компьютера, к гаджету необходимо подключить док-станцию Samsung DeX.

Технология Adaptive Picture оптимизирует качество изображения для любых условий просмотра, автоматически регулируя яркость и цветовую температуру в соответствии с освещением комнаты. Это обеспечивает наиболее комфортный просмотр в любом окружении, снижая нагрузку на глаза даже при длительном использовании. В мониторе также реализован специальный режим защиты зрения путём уменьшения синей части спектра.

На момент запуска монитор доступен в двух сериях. Модель M7 поддерживает разрешение Ultra-High Definition (UHD) и представлена в 32-дюймовом варианте, а модель M5 — разрешение Full HD (FHD) и представлена вариантах с диагональю 32 дюйма и 27 дюймов.

The Smart Monitor also features technology designed to make viewing more comfortable. Adaptive Picture optimizes picture quality for any viewing environment by automatically adjusting brightness and color temperature in response to room conditions. This ensures the most comfortable viewing experience in any environment, reducing eye strain even after extended use. The monitor also features a special eye-saver mode to reduce blue light.

The monitor is available in two models at launch. The M7 supports Ultra-High Definition (UHD) resolution in 32-inch while the M5 supports Full HD (FHD) resolution in 32-inch and 27-inch options.
