Samsung Electronics UK объявляет об активации функции экстренного вызова на носимых устройствах с TIZEN 5.5 и выше

Функция отправки экстренных сообщений (SOS) со смарт-часов Galaxy, ранее доступная только на Android-смартфонах Samsung, теперь запущена на девайсах с операционной системой TIZEN, сообщается на британском новостном сайте южнокорейского техногиганта. Владельцы часов серии Galaxy теперь смогут обратиться за экстренной помощью, оказавшись в опасной ситуации. Достаточно 3-х кликов на кнопке блокировки, чтобы информация о вашем местоположении и призывом о помощи была отправлена родственникам и (или) службам спасения.

Функция SOS позволяет автоматически звонить или отправлять текстовую информацию 4-м заранее выбранным абонентам, при этом не требуется набора номера.

После активации вы можете разослать предупреждение, трижды нажав на кнопку Home (она же кнопка блокировки). После этого часы немедленно отправят экстренное сообщение и ссылку на карту Google с указанием вашего местоположения. Эта опция также позволяет транслировать изображения с передней и задней камеры вашего смартфона, а также сделать пятисекундную аудиозапись с призывом о помощи.

Вот как вы можете активировать SOS-вызов на часах Samsung Galaxy:

1) Откройте приложение Galaxy Wearable.

2) Перейдите в раздел «Отправить экстренные сообщения» и коснитесь переключателя, чтобы запустить функцию передачи экстренных сообщений.

How to Activate SOS messages on your Samsung Galaxy Devices

The Samsung Galaxy SOS messages feature, which has been available on Samsung Galaxy smartphones since 2016, allows you to reach out for help if you find yourself in a situation where you do not feel safe and need to raise an emergency alert.

The feature enables you to auto-call and message up to four designated contacts without having to dial them.

Once activated, you can raise an alert by clicking your lock button three times. This will automatically send an SOS message and a Google map link of your location to your designated contacts. The feature also shares pictures from both the front and rear cameras of your smartphone, as well as a five-second audio recording.

Here’s how you can activate Samsung Galaxy SOS messages:

Samsung Galaxy smartphone[1]

1) Go to Settings.

2) Go to the Advanced Features, and select Send SOS messages.

3) You can select the recipient from your contact book or create a new contact, adding the mobile number for the recipient so they can receive your message

To disable this feature, follow the same steps above: Settings > Advanced Features > Send SOS messages > OFF.

Samsung Galaxy smart watch[2]

1) Open the Galaxy Wearable app

2) Go to Send SOSes, and then tap the switch to enable SOS messages

3) You’ll be asked to add an emergency contact. You can either create contact or select from contacts, and then add or create your designated contact.

 

Once activated, you can raise an alert by clicking your home button on your Samsung Galaxy smart watch three times. This will automatically send an SOS message followed by a link to your location.

If you would like the option of cancelling if activated accidentally, swipe to activate the Count down before sending feature, which waits five seconds before sending SOS messages and calls to allow them to cancelled.

To disable this feature, follow the same steps above: Open Galaxy Wearable app > Send SOSes > OFF.

Earlier in some countries, Samsung smartwatches gained access to the PITPAT application, which automatically calls an ambulance in case of a heart attack.

Программный апдейт приносит на эти девайсы множество функции самой актуальной модели Galaxy Watch 3. Обновить свои носимые устройства уже могут владельцы указанных моделей в Южной Корее и США, а в других регионах оно будет доступно в ближайшее время.

Samsung has released a major software update for the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active

Samsung Electronics has begun rolling out a major software update for its first smartwatch families, the Galaxy Watch, launched in late summer 2018, and the Galaxy Watch Active, launched in early 2019.

A software update brings many of the features of the latest Galaxy Watch 3 to these devices. Firmware is distributed under code numbers R810XXU1FUB6 for Galaxy Watch and R500XXUF1UB5 for Galaxy Watch Active. The volume of non unpacked files is 291MB.

Owners of these models in South Korea and the USA can already update their wearables, and it will be available in other regions soon.

Among the new options are such as viewing images and notifications from a smartphone, support for AR emoji and the so-called Bitmoji, voice prompts for training (running and cycling), “long” scrolling screenshots and voice prompts via wireless headphones.

When the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active first hit the market, they were running the TIZEN 4.0 operating platform, and new firmware upgrades them to TIZEN 5.5, like the latest Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3.  

Meanwhile, the campaign in defense of TIZEN is gaining momentum on the Web after the publication of the informational stuffing by the Chinese insider Ice Univerce about Samsung's allegedly impending transition to Google's Wear OS in its wearable devices. Following the angry article on the Tom's Guide portal, the well-known tech resource GIZMODO published an equally harsh material.

- In case if you see any old perspective, it is recommended to create a new workspace and import the projects to the new workspace to resolve the issue.

- In macOS from catalina and above versions, Native Templates-5.5 will not build with CLI when compiler is set to gcc.

* Common

- If you install TIZEN Studio in a directory that requires administrator privileges for access. For example, for C:\ProgramFiles location administrator privilege is needed to run the TIZEN SDK tools. The TIZEN Installer and the baseline SDK Installer alerts you if you try to install it into such a directory.

* Web and Native IDE

- You can create unit tests for TIZEN 2.3.2 and higher version projects only. Unit testing for older versions is not supported.

* Web IDE

- The preview tab in the Web Page Editor sometimes does not appear properly. Use an alternative feature, named Web SDK HTML Editor, which has enhanced features compared to the Web Page Editor. Instead of the preview tab in the Web Page Editor, use the preview feature Ctrl + 4 of the Web SDK HTML Editor.

- In Rapid Development Support (RDS) mode, the web unit test result is not updated.

- Remote Inspector does not allow audit in the updated version of Chrome.

* Certificate Manager

- Overwriting a duplicate certificate profile in the migration wizard works incorrectly on macOS.

* Emulator

- In the TIZEN 5.5 version, the emulator images app un-installation might take some time to complete if the app name contains more than 14 characters. A patch for the same is expected to be released in the next update.

- To use TIZEN Emulator, use Intel VTx supported CPU and the latest version of the graphic card driver provided by the vendor. To verify the prerequisites for TIZEN Emulator, see Prerequisites for TIZEN Studio.

- If the host machine is using NVIDIA® Optimus® technology on either Ubuntu or Windows, you must set the TIZEN Emulator to run with your NVIDIA® graphics card. For Ubuntu, verify the bumblebee project. For Windows, select High Speed NVIDIA® Processor as Preferred Graphics Processor in the NVIDIA® control panel.

- On Ubuntu, if the graphics driver is out-of-date, your Ubuntu desktop session occasionally logs out while launching Emulator Manager, or the emulator skin is displayed improperly. Verify the prerequisites and upgrade to the latest graphics driver.

On Windows, depending on your OS theme (such as Non-Aero themes and Windows XP themes), a display surface can be erased for a while if the emulator window is covered with another window. If you click the emulator window, the display surface runs correctly again.

- On Windows, if an error with message “failed to allocate memory” occurs while executing the emulator, try the following:

1) Close some other programs and try to launch the emulator again.

2) If the RAM size is set to 768 or 1024 MB for the VM in Emulator Manager, change it to 512 MB.

3) Increase the user area of the virtual memory in the system to 3 GB by entering the bcdedit /setincreaseuserva 3072 command on the console with administrator rights (only in Windows 7), and reboot.

- If you use a MacBook Pro that has both Intel HD and NVIDIA® GPUs, the emulator can terminate unexpectedly when you execute the emulator with OpenGL ES version 1.1 or 2.0. Verify the emulator configuration in Emulator Manager and on the General tab in the emulator configuration window, set OpenGL ES version to version 2.0, or to version 3.0.

- When you launch Emulator Manager in the TIZEN IDE, the shortcut image of Emulator Manager may not be displayed properly.

- Basic Web applications are not installed on SD cards.

- To use TIZEN Emulator in TIZEN platform 3.0 or lower, disable the CPU VT option in the HW Support tab of Emulator Configuration.

* CLI and SDB

- TIZEN Studio does not support the Smart Development Bridge (SDB) bash auto-completion on Windows (it is available on Ubuntu and macOS).

* Dynamic Analyzer

- When analyzing applications on commercial devices running TIZEN 3.0, newly-released or after a firmware update, the following problems exist:

1) The Core Frequency information is not shown.

2) The screenshots on the scene transitions feature will not work.

- When analyzing applications on the TIZEN 4.0 emulator or reference device, the startup profiling information is not shown.

- The UI Hierarchy viewer feature and startup profiling are not performed simultaneously.

- The Dynamic Analyzer cannot show lifecycle information for Web applications.

- Widget applications cannot be profiled with the Dynamic Analyzer. They are hidden in the application list on the toolbar for all TIZEN platforms, except TIZEN 2.3.2.

- The Dynamic Analyzer sometimes gets stuck which is caused by an internal security checking program.

Разработанная для удовлетворения новых потребностей современных пользователей, которые теперь всё чаще работают, учатся и проводят досуг дома, модель Samsung Smart Monitor включает в себя мощные возможности для подключения к мобильным устройствам и ПК и может использоваться как для работы в режиме удалённого домашнего офиса, так и для обучения. Для придания мобильному устройству функционала, приближенного к функционалу настольного компьютера, к гаджету необходимо подключить док-станцию Samsung DeX.

При использовании в режиме домашнего офиса или для обучения, смарт-монитор позволяет работать с приложениями Microsoft Office 365[2] без подключения к ПК за счёт встроенного Wi-Fi адаптера. Благодаря этому владельцам таких мониторов доступен просмотр, редактирование и сохранение документов в облаке. Функции удалённого доступа (Remote Access) также позволяют осуществлять беспроводной и удалённый доступ к файлам, находящимся на ПК, или просматривать контент с ноутбука независимо от того, расположен ли он дома или остался в офисе. Порт USB Type-C[3] передаёт данные, отображает содержимое экрана и обеспечивает питание – до 65 Вт – и всё это через единый кабель, благодаря чему рабочее пространство избавлено от лишних проводов. Несколько портов USB и поддержка Bluetooth 4.2 обеспечивают дополнительную гибкость подключения. Кроме того, монитор оснащён встроенными двухканальными динамиками.

С помощью реализованного в мониторе магазина приложений пользователи могут просматривать свой любимый контент, в том числе с сервисов Netflix, HBO или YouTube[4], даже без подключения компьютера или мобильного устройства. Для доступа к контенту и управления воспроизведением можно воспользоваться включённым в комплект поставки пультом дистанционного управления, на котором имеются клавиши быстрого запуска сервисов потокового видео.

Технология Adaptive Picture оптимизирует качество изображения для любых условий просмотра, автоматически регулируя яркость и цветовую температуру в соответствии с освещением комнаты. Это обеспечивает наиболее комфортный просмотр в любом окружении, снижая нагрузку на глаза даже при длительном использовании. В мониторе также реализован специальный режим защиты зрения путём уменьшения синей части спектра.

На момент запуска монитор доступен в двух сериях. Модель M7 поддерживает разрешение Ultra-High Definition (UHD) и представлена в 32-дюймовом варианте, а модель M5 — разрешение Full HD (FHD) и представлена вариантах с диагональю 32 дюйма и 27 дюймов.

Samsung expands the range of devices with TIZEN OS: smart monitors next

Versatile and affordable ‘do-it-all’ screen offers flexibility for work, learning and entertainment at home

Samsung Electronics today announced the global availability of its all-new Smart Monitor, an innovative, do-it-all screen that brings together an unprecedented suite of features for work, learning and entertainment in a single display.

Designed to meet the new needs of today’s consumers, who are now working, learning and consuming entertainment at home, Samsung Smart Monitor incorporates powerful mobile and PC connectivity, remote home office and learning features as well as Smart Hub, a comprehensive entertainment hub, similar to Samsung’s built-in TIZEN Smart TV platform.

“Around the world, work, education and entertainment have transformed into home-centered activities,” said Hyesung Ha, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With this new normal, it is no surprise that most indicators show a rise in digital activities and many are rethinking their technology use at home. Our new Smart Monitor is a direct response to that demand. Consumers no longer have to choose between a screen for one or the other as this display brings it all together.”

The new Samsung Smart Monitor provides numerous connectivity options for both PCs and smartphones. Users can connect their personal mobile devices with just a simple tap using Tap View,1 App Casting or Apple AirPlay 2. For a complete desktop experience using a mobile device, users can also connect to the monitor with Samsung DeX.

For home office and learning, the display operates Microsoft Office 365 applications2 without a PC connection thanks to embedded Wi-Fi, allowing users to view, edit and save documents in the cloud directly from the monitor. Remote Access also allows users wirelessly and remotely access files from a PC or view content from a laptop whether it is situated elsewhere in the house or at the office. The USB Type-C port3 allows for data, display and power — up to 65W — with just a single connection, keeping the area around the monitor clean and beautiful. Multiple USB ports and Bluetooth 4.2 allow for additional connection versatility while the display has built-in two channel speaker.

When work is done, the display also operates as a complete entertainment hub with the ability to stream content with Samsung’s Smart Hub. The monitor’s app store allows users to stream their favorite content including Netflix, HBO and YouTube4 even without a connection to a PC or mobile device. Content can easily be accessed with the supplied remote control, which includes streaming service hot keys. The display can also be controlled by voice thanks to Bixby integration.

The Smart Monitor also features technology designed to make viewing more comfortable. Adaptive Picture optimizes picture quality for any viewing environment by automatically adjusting brightness and color temperature in response to room conditions. This ensures the most comfortable viewing experience in any environment, reducing eye strain even after extended use. The monitor also features a special eye-saver mode to reduce blue light.

The monitor is available in two models at launch. The M7 supports Ultra-High Definition (UHD) resolution in 32-inch while the M5 supports Full HD (FHD) resolution in 32-inch and 27-inch options.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 has started receiving the TIZEN 5.5 update in all key markets

     
The new software update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is also rolling out in various European markets, including Russia, France, The Netherlands, Italy, and the UK. Samsung is also rolling out a small firmware update to the smartwatch in Germany and the US, bringing improvements to the GPS accuracy and connection.
Samsung had announced earlier this month that it will bring some of the best Galaxy Watch 3 features to the Galaxy Watch Active 2. Last week, the update started rolling out in the US, bringing Fall Detection to the smartwatch. The company has now started rolling out the new update to the Galaxy Watch Active2 in India.
The new software update brings TIZEN 5.5 and One UI 2.0 to the Galaxy Watch Active2. It carries firmware version R820XXU1CTI4 and has a download size of 292.91MB. However, the download size could be slightly different for the LTE variant of the smartwatch. If you are a Galaxy Watch Active2 user from India, you can check for the update by launching the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone and navigating to Watch software update » Download and install.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 gets various new features with the software update, including Advanced Running Analysis to give you more insights to improve your running form and VO2max to check the maximum amount of oxygen you utilize during exercises. It also brings Fall Detection, AR Emoji, Bitmoji, and the ability to capture scrolling screenshots to the smartwatch.
The Fall Detection feature can send SOS calls and messages to emergency contacts when the watch detects a hard fall. With the new update, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 opens a chat window when you receive a message, offering you a better view. It can also display images received in the chat thread.

Согласно анализу программного кода, подготовленного для обновления операционной системы до версии TIZEN 5.5, Samsung готовит к международному запуску такие давно ожидаемые функции, как мониторинг артериального давления, ЭКГ, обнаружение падения при потере сознания или сердечном приступе, рассылка тревожного сообщения SOS с отображением точных координат ЧП по заранее определённым номерам абонентов, расширение возможностей интеллектуального голосового помощника Bixby (для отдельных стран) и некоторые другие.

Будущим владельцам таких устройств обещают наличие обновлённого  8-сегментного сенсора от американской компании Texas Instruments, который обеспечит не только корректный подсчёт частоты сердечных сокращений, но также позволит мониторить артериальное давление, снимать электрокардиограмму (ЭКГ), а также фиксировать падения. В случае возникновения угрозы здоровью (например, потеря сознания или сердечный приступ) часы автоматически пошлют в службу спасения сигнал SOS с точными координатами места происшествия. Также будет добавлена функция управления с помощью жестов. Как обычно, такие часы получат защиту от проникновения воды и пыли по стандарту IP68.
В качестве программной платформы будет использоваться свежая версия TIZEN OS 5.5 с улучшенной оптимизацией и поддержкой новых опций.
Разумеется, в продаже появится также "мужская" версия более крупного размера (45 мм) и c различной аппаратной начинкой (для отдельных рынков подготовлены модели с поддержкой мобильной связи LTE/4G). В общей сложности ожидается появление 9-ти модификаций Galaxy Watch 3 в различных цветовых и аппаратных решениях, в том числе делюкс-версия в титановом корпусе.

Indian Youtube-channel TechTalkTV with 500,000 subscribers provided an exclusive opportunity to evaluate the appearance and some software features of the gadget 9 days before the official premiere.
According to preliminary information, the Galaxy Watch 3 will receive a 1.2-inch screen in a 41 mm version, while the control mechanical bezel (a distinctive feature of Samsung's premium gadgets) will have a slimmer shape compared to previous models. With redesigning the buttons, the new Galaxy Watch 3 will become even more like a traditional watch, but at the same time it will significantly expand its functionality. The future owners of such devices are promised the availability of an updated 8-segment sensor from the American company Texas Instruments, which will provide not only a correct calculation of the heart rate, but also allow monitoring blood pressure, making an electrocardiogram, and also determining the moment of a sudden fall. In the event of a threat to health (for example, loss of consciousness or heart attack), the watch will automatically send an SOS signal to the rescue service with the exact coordinates of the location. A gesture control function will also be added. As usual, this watch will receive IP68 protection against ingress of water and dust. In terms of hardware upgrade, we can note the increase in RAM by 25% (1Gb) and permanent memory by 50% (8Gb) compared to the previous model Galaxy Watch.   
The latest version of TIZEN OS 5.5 with improved optimization and support for new options will be used as a software platform.
Of course, there will also be a "male" version of a larger size (45 mm) with various hardware stuffing on sale (models with LTE/4G support have been prepared for certain markets). In total, 9 modifications of the Galaxy Watch 3 are expected to appear in various colors and hardware solutions, including a deluxe version in a titanium case.

Прошлой осенью мы обещали нашим читателям сделать большой обзор актуальных смарт-часов Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2. Но поскольку так называемых "горячих тестов", появившихся сразу после начала продаж этого девайса было огромное количество, мы решили провести более обстоятельное испытание этого устройства и поделиться нашими выводами некоторое время спустя. Таким образом, это длительное тестирование поможет всем заинтересованным в покупке носимого гаджета лучше оценить возможности Active2 или же обратить свой взор на будущую новинку Galaxy Watch 3, о которой мы также поговорим в этом обзоре.
Итак, мы сделали предзаказ на Galaxy Watch Active2, как только он появился на рынке. В качестве бонуса Samsung добавил в комплект фирменное зарядное устройство с маркировкой EB-U1200 RSDM4 ёмкостью 10mAh. Этот выносной аккумулятор также позволяет осуществлять беспроводную зарядку любых совместимых гаджетов.
Штатный комплект поставки Galaxy Watch2 довольно аскетичен: компактная упаковка с краткой инструкцией, адаптер для подзарядки и гарантийный талон.
Но, собственно, для носимого устройства большего и не требуется, поэтому не будем задерживать на этом пункте особого внимания.
Гораздо важнее качество аппаратной части и программных сервисов, инсталлированных в смарт-часы. Здесь, как мы и ожидали, никаких особых проблем не возникло. Операционная система TIZEN, которая уже давно применяется Samsung практически во всех своих IoT-устройствах, демонстрирует на удивление стабильную работу без лагов и подтормаживаний.
Дизайн Active2 особенно привлекателен для любителей "гладких" устройств а-ля Apple Watch. Ради этого инженеры Samsung удалили круглый механический безель для навигации по меню, заменив его на сенсорный аналог. Это интересное решение, которое привлекает сторонников активного образа жизни и любителей фитнеса, так как конструкция часов позволяет избежать "зацепок" за тренировочный костюм во время пробежки или силовых упражнений.
В том случае, если пользователя не устраивает вариант круговой сенсорной навигации, то предусмотрена возможность его отключения и перевода в стандартный режим "перелистывание/нажатие".
Большинство предустановленных приложений работает без каких-либо нареканий и при наличии устойчивой связи с Wi-Fi роутером или смартфоном позволяют выходить в интернет, просмартивать видео на youtube, пользоваться мессенджерами, соцсетями и так далее.
Новый сенсорный датчик от Texas Instruments, состоящий из 8-ми сегментов, обеспечивает корректное измерение частоты пульса (мы сравнивали его показатели с двумя стационарными аппаратами от Samsung и OMRON), отслеживание физической активности и качество сна. Кроме того, после обновления прошивки Galaxy Watch Active2 позволят измерять кровяное давление и даже снимать электрокардиограмму (ЭКГ). В настоящий момент эта опция доступна владельцам таких часов в Южной Корее, а в других странах её можно будет активировать в случае одобрения местными государственными регуляторами. Учитывая бесконечные бюрократические проволочки с признанием смарт-часов медицинскими приборами для мониторинга состояния здоровья, в России это вряд ли будет доступно в ближайшей перспективе.
Тем не менее, даже того, что имеется на сегодняшний день, вполне достаточно, чтобы оценить потенциал своего организма. Например, если у вас наблюдается повышенная частота пульса в течение продолжительного времени, часы предупредят, что это выходит за пределы нормы и есть повод обратиться к кардиологу. А приложение Samsung Health будет постоянно собирать информацию о вашей физической активности и время от времени ненавязчиво напоминать, если вы пересидели на рабочем месте, накапливая лишние калории.
Интересной опцией является возможность определения стресса и предлагаемый комплекс упражнений йоги в случае его обнаружения.
Кроме того, смарт-часы могут предложить выполнить простые упражнения для тех, кто ведёт малоподвижный образ жизни и мотивировать таких людей к физической активности путём агитационной демонстрации анимированных виджетов.
Вопреки утверждениям хейтеров, магазин приложений для смарт-часов Samsung переполнен самыми разнообразными продуктами. Вы можете найти здесь практически всё, что требуется в повседневной жизни - от барометра до навигационных карт, от калькулятора до подробного прогноза погоды. О количестве предлагаемых циферблатов (платных и бесплатных) даже особо упоминать не стоит - их здесь великое множество (более 100.000!) на любой вкус.  Причём в TIZEN OS предусмотрена возможность кастомизации наиболее продвинутых циферблатов по собственному выбору. Периодически проводятся разнообразные промо-акции, когда в течение ограниченного периода вы можете найти какой-нибудь дорогой циферблат в свободном доступе.
Отдельно следует упомянуть о возможности совершения мобильных звонков как с обычного смартфона (часы имеют встроенный микрофон и динамик), а также голосового ввода сообщений, которые хотите послать кому-то из своих контактёров. Это очень удобно, особенно в тех случаях, когда достать телефон из кармана или сумки затруднительно (например, в общественном транспорте в час пик). Имеется возможность отправлять заранее заготовленные текстовые ответы и эмодзи, что делается элементарно просто в считанные секунды.
К сожалению, в российских версиях Galaxy Watch Active2 был закрыт доступ к интеллектуальному голосовому помощнику Bixby, который до сих пор не научился говорить по-русски. Однако сторонние программисты уже предлагают альтернативу в виде приложения для активации голосового помощника Google.
Во многих зарубежных странах Samsung уже давно предлагает модификации своих смарт-чаов со встроенными LTE/4G-модулями, которые позволяют пользоваться часами почти как обычным смартфоном (за исключением опции фото/видео) без привязки к последнему. Однако в России передовая технология виртуальной электронной сим-карты (e-SIM) до сих пор запрещена по настоянию спецслужб. Всё дело в том, что e-SIM позволяет мгновенно менять мобильного оператора связи путём ввода соответствующего цифрового кода, что осложняет спецслужбам (особенно ФСБ) работу по отслеживанию перемещения абонентов и перехвата разговоров.
Имеются ли в Galaxy Watch Active2 недостатки? Их немного, и все они, как мы надеемся, будут устранены в грядущей премиум-модели Galaxy Watch 3. Например, Active2 обладают сравнительно небольшим, по нынешним временам, объёмом встроенной памяти (4Гб), где примерно половина занята операционной системой и предустановленными приложениями. Оставшегося пространства явно не хватит на все ваши любимые музыкальные трэки, сторонние циферблаты и дополнительные программы для расширения функционала. Поэтому приходится "ужиматься" и оставлять только самое необходимое. Также имеется проблема с загрузкой и просмотром навигационных карт HERE. Это приложение довольно тяжёлое и требует либо более шустрого процессора, либо большего объёма оперативной памяти, либо того и другого. Мы полагаем, что в 2020-м году оптимальным вариантом было бы 1,5Гб ОЗУ и не менее 8Гб постоянной памяти.
Согласно последним данным, будущие смарт-часы Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 решат большинство этих проблем. Помимо того, что это носимое устройство предложит самую свежую версию операционной системы (TIZEN 5.5) с обновлённым интерфейсом и функцией определения падения при сердечном приступе или потере сознания, оно также получит аппаратный апгрейд. В частности, там будет установлен более совершенный датчик активности (также от Texas Instruments), увеличен объём ОЗУ (1Гб для стандартной версии и, вероятно, 1,5Гб для версии с LTE) и встроенной памяти (8Gb).
Процессорная платформа не претерпит изменений и перекочует на Galaxy Watch 3 из актуальной Active2. При этом Galaxy Watch 3 будет предложен не менее чем в 9-ти вариантах дизайна/размера и аппаратной начинки. Предполагается, что стартовая цена на эти премиум-часы будет заметно выше, чем у Galaxy Watch Active 2. 
Так на чём следует остановить своё внимание при выборе между Active2 и Watch 3? По нашему мнению, Galaxy Watch Active2 всё ещё остаются привлекательной покупкой, так как цена на них снизилась, но при этом они предлагают большой набор функций, современный дизайн и неплохое время автономной работы (в 2-2,5 раза болше, чем Apple Watch). Главный недостаток - ограниченный объём встроенной памяти, но это не столь критично, поскольку для основных приложений и хорошего набора циферблатов его наверняка хватит. Более того, у этих часов есть задел на будущее, так как после программного обновления вы сможете получить такие опции как мониторинг кровяного давления и ЭКГ. Почти наверняка Active2 будут обновлены до версии TIZEN 5.5 и в этом плане мало чем уступят Watch 3.
Что касается будущей новинки, то респектабельные Galaxy Watch 3 имеют более универсальное назначение, и благодаря классическому дизайну с фирменным поворотным безелем подойдут, прежде всего, офисным менеджерам и бизнесменам, которые смогут удачно сочетать применение этого гаджета как в спортзале, так и на деловой встрече.
Ожидается, что самой дорогой модификацией станет модель Galaxy Watch 3 LTE в платиновом корпусе. Её цена пока неизвестна, но она явно будет заметно выше, чем у остальных версий.

9 months with Galaxy Watch Active2 (big review from Samsung World editors)

Last fall, we promised our readers a big review of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2. But since there were a huge number of so-called "hot tests" that appeared immediately after the start of sales of this device, we decided to conduct a more detailed test of the new smartwatch and share our findings some time later. Thus, this long-term testing will help everyone interested in buying a wearable gadget to better assess the capabilities of Active2 or to turn their gaze to the upcoming new Galaxy Watch 3, which we will also talk about in this review.
So, we pre-ordered the Galaxy Watch Active2 as soon as it appeared on Samsung's official website. As a bonus, Samsung has added a proprietary battery charger labeled EB-U1200 RSDM4 with a capacity of 10mAh. This power bank also allows you to wirelessly charge any compatible gadgets.
The standart complete of the Galaxy Watch Active2 itself is quite simple: compact packaging with brief instructions, a charging adapter and a warranty card. But for a wearable device, more is not required, so we will not dwell on this point.
Much more important is the quality of the hardware and software services installed in the smartwatch. Here, as we expected, no special problems arose. The TIZEN operating system, which has long been used by Samsung in almost all of its IoT devices, demonstrates surprisingly stable operation without lags or slowdowns.
The Active2's design is especially appealing to fans of sleek devices like the Apple Watch. For this, Samsung engineers removed the ring-shaped mechanical bezel for menu navigation, replacing it with a software analogue on the touchscreen. This is an interesting solution that attracts fitness enthusiasts, since the design of the watch allows you to avoid "snagging" on a training suit while jogging or exercising on the simulator.
In the event that the user is not satisfied with the circular touch navigation option, then it is possible to turn it off and switch to the standard "swipe/click" mode.
Most of the preinstalled applications work without any complaints and, if there is a stable connection with a Wi-Fi router or smartphone, they allow you to go online, view videos on youtube, use instant messengers, social networks, and so on.
Texas Instruments' new 8-segment sensor provides accurate heart rate, activity tracking and sleep quality. In addition, after a firmware update, the Galaxy Watch Active2 will allow you to measure blood pressure and even take an electrocardiogram (ECG). This option is currently available to owners of such smartwatches in South Korea, and in other countries it can be activated if approved by local government regulators.
Nevertheless, even what is available today is quite enough to assess the potential of your body. For example, if you have an increased heart rate for a long time, the watch will warn you that this is outside the normal range and there is a reason to consult a cardiologist. And the Samsung Health app will constantly collect information about your physical activity and from time to time unobtrusively remind you if you have long time sat out at work, accumulating extra calories.
Also an interesting option is the ability to determine stress and the proposed set of yoga exercises.
In addition, smartwatches can offer simple exercises for those who lead a sedentary lifestyle and motivate such people to be physically active by demonstrating the appropriate animated widgets.
Contrary to the claims of haters, the Samsung smartwatch app store is overflowing with a wide variety of software products. Here you can find almost everything you need in your daily life - from a barometer to navigational maps, from a calculator to a detailed weather forecast. It is not even worth mentioning the number of offered watch faces (paid and free) - there are a great variety of them (over 100,000) for every taste. Moreover, TIZEN OS provides the possibility of personal customization of the most advanced dials. Various promotions are held periodically, when for a limited period you can find some expensive watch face in the public domain.
Separately, mention should be made of the possibility of making mobile calls like from a regular smartphone (Active2 have a built-in microphone and speaker), as well as voice input of messages that can be sent to relatives, friends or work colleagues. This is very convenient, especially in cases where it is difficult to get the phone out of your pocket or bag (for example, on public transport during rush hour). It is possible to send pre-prepared text responses and emoji, which is done simply in a matter of seconds.
Unfortunately, the Galaxy Watch Active2 does not open up access to the proprietary Bixby voice assistant everywhere, as it has a limited selection of supported languages. However, third-party programmers are already offering an alternative in the form of an app to activate Google's voice assistant.
In some countries, Samsung has long been offering modifications to its smart watches with built-in LTE / 4G modules, which allow you to use the watch without synchronizing with your smartphone. Of course, the Galaxy Watch Active2 also has such modifications.
Does the Galaxy Watch Active2 have drawbacks? There are not many of them, and all of them, we hope, will be eliminated in the upcoming Galaxy Watch 3 model. According to the latest data, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will solve most of these problems. In addition to offering the latest version of the operating system (TIZEN 5.5) with an updated interface and a fall detection function in case of heart attack or loss of consciousness, this wearable device will also receive a hardware upgrade. The starting price of this premium watch is expected to be markedly higher than the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
So where should you focus your attention when choosing between Active2 and Watch 3? In our opinion, the Galaxy Watch Active2 is still an attractive buy, as the price has dropped, but it also offers a wide range of features, modern design and good battery life (2-2.5 times longer than Apple Watch).
The main drawback is the limited amount of internal memory, but this is not so critical, since it will probably be enough for basic applications and a good set of dials. Moreover, this watch has a good perspective for the future, as after the software update you will be able to get such options as blood pressure monitoring and EKG. The Active2 will almost certainly be updated to TIZEN 5.5, and in this regard will not be inferior to the Watch 3.
As for the future novelty, the respectable Galaxy Watch 3 has a more universal purpose, and thanks to its classic design with a branded rotary bezel, it will suit, first of all, office managers and businessmen who can successfully combine the use of this gadget both in the gym and at a business meeting.
The most expensive modification is expected to be the Galaxy Watch 3 LTE with platinum case. Its price is still unknown, but it will obviously be noticeably higher than that of other versions.
