Все смарт-устройства Samsung теперь поставляются с предустановленным сервисом Spotify

Samsung и потоковый музыкальный сервис Spotify объявили о заключении соглашения, по условиям которого все мобильные устройства южнокорейского производителя с 8 марта 2019 года поставляются с приложением Spotify, сообщает журнал Variety.
Этой сделкой партнёры расширили сотрудничество. Сначала Spotify был интегрирован с AI-платформой Samsung Bixby, а затем производитель потребительской электроники выбрал Spotify своим ведущим поставщиком музыкального контента.
Новые пользователи Spotify в США, владеющие определёнными мобильными устройствами Samsung Galaxy, включая недавно выпущенный S10, могут рассчитывать на бесплатное использование подписки Spotify Premium в течение 6-ти месяцев.
К концу 2018 года сервисом Spotify не менее одного раза в месяц пользовались 207 миллионов человек, из которых 96 миллионов - это подписчики платных услуг. В годовом исчислении эти показатели повысились на 29% и 36% соответственно, а в квартальном - на 8% и 11%.
Средняя выручка компании в расчёте на одного пользователя достигла 4,89 евро, что на 7% больше показателя годичной давности.
Примерно 36% пользователей Spotify проживает в Европе, 30% - в Северной Америке, 22% - в Латинской Америке и 12% - в остальных странах. Spotify работает более чем в 60 странах мира и стала публичной компанией в апреле 2018 года.

Samsung expands Spotify partnership with preinstalled app and six months of free Premium

Buyers of Samsung’s new Galaxy S10 phone can now get 6 months of Spotify Premium for free: The two companies announced the new joint promotion Friday morning, while also revealing that Spotify will be pre-installed on Samsung phones going forward. Separately, Samsung also announced a promotion with YouTube to give Galaxy S10 buyers access to 4 months of YouTube Premium.
There is a bit of fine print to consider for the Spotify offer: As of now, it is only available to Galaxy S10 buyers, but Samsung may add other phone models to the promotion in the coming months. The offer is also only available to new subscribers, and not to existing or previous customers. And finally, it is restricted to the U.S., at least for now.
Samsung and Spotify first started to work with each other in August of last year, when Spotify was announced as the primary music service for Samsung’s Galaxy Home speaker.
As the two companies extend their partnership to mobile, Samsung is also tightly integrating Spotify’s service with its Bixby smart assistant. This includes music recommendations on the Bixby Home screen.
“Our goal is to deliver the best possible mobile experience to our consumers, and Spotify is the ideal music partner to help us make that vision a reality,” said Samsung Electronics America vice president of marketing Patricio Paucar. “Whether they’re listening to the latest hit albums or checking out their favorite playlist, we’re giving eligible Galaxy S10 users access to an amazing six month Spotify Premium offer.”
In addition to teaming up with Spotify, Samsung has also partnered with YouTube to give Galaxy S10 buyers access to 4 free months of YouTube Premium. The paid YouTube tier, which usually costs $11.99 per month, gives users access to an ad-free YouTube experience, offline playback and background play, as well as access to YouTube Music.
YouTube’s 4-month free trial will also be available for buyers of the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Tab S5e, as well as customers in nearly 30 countries (full list here).
Samsung announced the Galaxy S10 at a press event in San Francisco last month, and began selling it to consumers Friday. The phone features an edge-to-edge screen with a punch-hole cut-out for its front-facing camera, as well as a fingerprint reader integrated into the front screen.

Популярный потоковый музыкальный сервис Spotify теперь будет доступен владельцам смарт-часов на TIZEN OS Samsung Geear S3, даже если используется модификация без LTE-модуля (то есть не имеющая непосредственного выхода в Сеть).
Такая опция предложена впервые и пока не имеет аналогов от других производителей носимых гаджетов, даже хвалёных Apple Watch.
Как сообщают профильные ресурсы, с 19 июня обладатели Gear S3 могут скачать бета-версию приложения "Listen Offline" от Spotify, позволяющего предварительно загружать необходимый набор трэков и сопутствующий визуальный контент (например, тексты песен, фото и биографии исполнителей), чтобы воспользоваться им, даже если смарт-часы работают абсолютно автономно и не имеют связи со смартфоном или точкой Wi-Fi. Это особенно удобно для любителей фитнеса, которые теперь могут прослушивать любимые композиции во время пробежек или других тренировок, не обременяя себя дополнительным гаджетом на поясе в виде смартфона. Spotify Offline Playlist Syncing Arrives For Smartwatches

Spotify offline playlists, the Holy Grail for smartwatch wearers, have finally arrived.
TIZEN powers Samsung’s impressive Gear S3 smartwatch and it’s in Spotify’s homeland – Sweden – where the offline syncing is arriving first. The “Listen Offline” feature, a stalwart for Spotify’s mobile apps, will allow users to create and download playlists, and have them available to listen to without a Wi-Fi or Cellular connection through their connected Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
The Samsung Gear S3 also has its own built in speaker, which can also be used for playback.
Reports suggest that Spotify’s offline syncing for the Gear S3 is in a beta period, currently rolling out in Sweden, but that the feature will make its way to S3 models globally as well.
The Spotify app for the Gear S3 (and the older Gear S2) first arrived in December 2016, letting users playback their tunes on their wrist, browse through the latest charts, search for artists or scroll through their playlists. The Gear S3’s rotating bezel offers a neat way to control streams away from the touchscreen.
For Android Wear users, the features above are exactly what you get with Google’s smartwatch OS version of the app and for Apple Watch users, there’s no official Spotify love at all… at least at the moment.
Offline playlist syncing is a big deal for smartwatches as it cuts the reliance on a wearable device’s need to be tethered to a smartphone. Runners, for example, would be able to accurately track their runs using their smartwatch’s GPS radio, while listening to their favourite running playlists – without needing a data connection.
Let’s hope that Samsung’s efforts kick starts the revolution across the smartwatch board.
