Samsung отгрузил ритейлерам уже более 20.000.000 Galaxy S8/S8+

Исследовательская группа Strategy Analytics сообщила, что Samsung уже в июле преодолел отметку в 20 миллионов по отгрузкам ритйлерам флагманских смартфонов Galaxy S8 и Galaxy S8+. Согласно подсчётам экспертов, ежедневно Samsung направляет в торговые сети по 278.000 этих девайсов. 
В середине прошлого месяца глава мобильного подразделения Samsung Кох Донг Джин (Koh Dong-jin) заявил, что новые модели опережают по продажам прошлогодние флагманские устройства Galaxy S7/S7 edge на 15%.
В конце июля на пресс-конференции представители Samsung заявили, что в некоторых ключевых странах Galaxy S8 продаётся вдвое лучше, чем предшественник, несмотря на то, что новинка вышла с задержкой на месяц.
Рыночные аналитики отмечают, что Samsung за короткий срок удалось избавиться от шлейфа проблем с бракованными аккумуляторыми другого прошлогоднего флагмана Galaxy Note 7, которые пришлось изъять из продажи.
Даже самый проблемный 4-й квартал 2016-го подразделению Samsung Mobile удалось завершить с прибылью.  
Следующий топовый фаблет Samsung Galaxy Note 8 будет представлен ровно через 20 дней в Нью-Йорке.

Samsung Galaxy S8 shipments exceed 20m

The shipments of Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S8 have surpassed the 20 million mark in July, according to market research firm Strategy Analytics on Aug. 3.
Data compiled by the research firm showed that the Korean tech giant shipped 278,800 units of the smartphone model per day since the official release on April 21, amounting to 19.8 million in the April-June period.
The shipment volume is assumed to have surpassed 20 million in July, according to SA’s data.
Hinting that the popularity of the latest flagship remains undiminished, Samsung’s mobile division chief Koh Dong-jin said in a media event in Taiwan in July that the cumulative sales of the S8 is 15 percent higher than that of the preceding Galaxy S7 within three months since the March 11 release last year.
Although the release of the S8 was a month behind the March release of the S7, the sales of the latest flagship in some global markets is double that of the S7, the company said in a conference call on July 27. 
The Korean tech giant’s operating profit in the second quarter, at 4.06 trillion won (US$3.6 billion), surpassed the 4-trillion-won threshold for the first time since the second quarter last year thanks partly to the S8’s robust sales, overcoming the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco caused by faulty batteries.
Samsung is scheduled to take the wraps off its next-generation Galaxy Note smartphone in New York on Aug. 23.
