27 августа подразделение Samsung Electronics объявило, что представит 3 новые модели мониторов с высоким разрешением на крупнейшей в Европе международной выставке IFA 2017. Напомним, что мероприятие пройдёт в столице Германии с 1 по 6 сентября.
Профессиональные мониторы от Samsung Electronics CH89 (с 34-дюймовым изогнутым дисплеем), СР80 (с 27-дюймовым изогнутым дисплеем) и SH85 (модели с плоскими панелями размером 23,8 и 27 дюймов) были разработаны с учётом потребностей профессиональных пользователей.
Благодаря улучшенной чёткости и охвату обзора работа с новыми мониторами горадо более комфортна, чем прежде. Отображение документов, таблиц и диаграмм на экране детализировано как никогда ранее. Также обеспечена полная совместимость с интерфейсом USB Type C.

В серию CHG90 вошла гигантская модель C49HG90 с диагональю 49 дюймов и разрешением 3840 × 1080 пикселей. Сверхширокий охват обеспечит восприятие контента, как если бы пользователь находился в кинотеатре системы IMAX.
Новинка стала первым в мире дисплеем с поддержкой технологии Radeon FreeSync 2, которая представляет собой важный этап развития технологий геймплея с улучшенной целостностью пикселей. Система обеспечивает возможность игр с эффектом High Dynamic Range (HDR) по стандарту plug-and-play без необходимости дополнительных настроек в программном обеспечении или на самом мониторе.

Samsung Electronics announced it will “up the game” at Gamescom 2017 with the launch of the Samsung CHG90 QLED Gaming Monitor, the world’s largest gaming monitor that delivers an IMAX-style cinematic viewing experience. Gamescom 2017 is the largest annual gathering of computer and video game industry’s media, developers, retailers and companies serving the gaming market, taking place August 22-26 at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany.
Gamescom attendees can experience the CHG90 at Samsung booth (hall 10.1, booth B080, A081) as well as EA Games (hall 6.1, booth C-060), Bluehole (hall 9.1, booth B-051), Ubisoft (hall 6.1, booths C-030, B-030, B-021 and B-020) and Xbox booths (hall 8.1, booth C-070).

The Samsung CHG90 is the 49-inch super ultra-wide 32:9 HDR (High Dynamic Range) gaming monitor. The monitor has a 3840 x 1080 resolution and an 1800R curvature to immerse users in gameplay. It provides a seamless gaming experience, larger field of view and greater depth perception versus other gaming monitors in the market today. An over-sized screen enables peak performance throughout gameplay while the 32:9 aspect ratio allows gamers to see game scenes in their entirety.
A key feature of the CHG90 is the rapid 144Hz screen refresh rate, which provides flawless and smooth action scenes that can be adjusted to 60Hz/120Hz when needed. Other features include a 1ms (MPRT) response time, more realistic and lifelike colors with Quantum dot and HDR technology, and a game mode option.
Equivalent to two 27-inch 16:9 monitors side by side, the 32:9 super ultra-wide screen also provides ultimate multitasking flexibility. Gamers no longer have to worry about multi-monitor set-ups: with no bezels impeding the view and a single power cable for minimal clutter, gamers can multitask seamlessly. In addition, the Easy Setting Box enables gamers to partition the screen or display multiple screens of different sizes with just one click, and the Picture-by-Picture functionality allows them to connect and view input sources without degrading the original image quality.
The CHG90 also boasts an appealing design. It features a matte black body on top of a circle stand – a minimalist design that eliminates distractions, allowing gamers to be fully immersed in the game. The monitor features a hinge with a superlative ergonomic design, height adjustments, swivel, tilt and VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) mounting. The CHG90 supports two HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) ports, DisplayPort and audio out connectivity options.
The CHG90 will be available throughout Europe, including Germany, following Gamescom 2017. In addition, attendees of IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) 2017 in Berlin (September 1-6, 2017) can also experience the CHG90 at the City Cube Berlin.

The QLED quantum dot technology delivers a new metal core and supports both approximately 125 percent of the sRGB color spectrum and 95 percent of the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI-P3) motion picture standard to deliver an exceptionally wide color range.
Samsung’s CHG90 sets the new visual standard for gaming displays by projecting a 32:9 aspect ratio and 3,840×1,080 double full HD (DFHD) resolution across a 49-inch screen. The CHG90 literally extends the playing field for gamers, with its broad design surpassing industry standards while simultaneously representing the widest monitor in the company’s gaming portfolio. The monitor delivers stunning 1,800R curvature and an ultra-wide 178-degree viewing angle, maintaining content visibility from any location within a given space. The CHG90 and CHG70 arrive as the first Samsung gaming monitors to feature AMD’s new Radeon FreeSync™ 2 technology. This frontline functionality eliminates the stuttering and tearing that often disrupt gameplay to drive seamless frame transitions. В своё время форматы 16:10 и почти вытеснивший его с рынка 16:9 не без оснований назывались «широкоэкранными» — на фоне мониторов с соотношением сторон 4:3 и 5:4 такие модели действительно казались широкими и позволяли частично воспользоваться преимуществами мультимониторности не прибегая к ней самой. Их даже называли «кинематографическими», хотя настоящие широкоэкранные форматы в киноиндустрии подразумевают соотношения сторон 2,35:1 или даже 2,39:1.
Сегодня не так сложно подобрать себе монитор формата 21:9 (2,3:1) — чаще всего они имеют разрешение 3440 × 1440 и позволяют смотреть фильмы практически в родном соотношении сторон. Но корпорация Samsung идёт ещё дальше, ведь как уже было сказано, широкоэкранный монитор — это не только средство просмотра кинофильмов, но и удобная замена мультимониторным системам, которые имеют свои недостатки: так, при смене разрешения на одном из мониторов расположенные пользователем окна неизбежно смещаются сами и не всегда возвращаются на место, что может доставлять неудобства.
Сейчас в разработке у Samsung находятся панели и мониторы с соотношением сторон 29:9 и 32:9 с разрешением 3840 × 1200 и 3840 × 1080 соответственно. Обе модели планируется сделать изогнутыми с радиусом панели 1800R, диагонали у новинок будут весьма внушительными — 44″ и 49″ соответственно. Вероятнее всего, более крупная модель действительно предназначена для киноманов и любителей игр. Известно, что она будет базироваться на технологии VA и обеспечит контрастность на уровне 5000:1. Максимальная частота развёртки составит 144 Гц, предполагается опциональная поддержка технологий адаптивной синхронизации AMD и NVIDIA. Массовое производство намечено на сентябрь 2017 года.
Панель с соотношением сторон 29:9 будет иметь диагональ 44″, и вот она как раз представляет собой удобную замену двум мониторам с разрешением 1920 × 1200, поскольку позволяет организовать рабочее пространство со столь любимой профессионалами высотой 1200 пикселей при ширине 3840 пикселей. Технология в ней будет использоваться та же, что гарантирует отличную контрастность, но также и наличие особенности color shift — в зависимости от того, под каким углом смотрит пользователь, панели типа VA могут «проглатывать» часть тёмных оттенков. Иногда это считается неприемлемым в работе с фото- и видеоматериалами. Эта модель будет представлена в версиях 60 и 144 Гц, массовое производство ожидается в те же сроки. Наконец, в планах Samsung фигурирует ещё одна модель — дисплейная панель с диагональю 40″ будет иметь разрешение 1920 × 1080 (Full HD), причём контрастность у неё ниже, всего 3000:1. Она явно предназначается для телевизоров и мультимедийных дисплеев начального уровня. Производство этой модели начнётся в августе 2017 года.

Samsung уже приступил к разработке следующего флагмана Galaxy S9

Как сообщает бизнес-портал The Investor со ссылкой на различные отраслевые источники, Samsung уже приступил к работе над новым поколением флагманских смартфонов Galaxy S-серии раньше запланированных сроков.
Отмечается, что инженеры уже продумывают формат дисплейных панелей  Galaxy S9, причём работы стартовали ещё в прошлом месяце. Ожидается, что дисплейная панель будет занимать на корпусе новинки больше места, чем раньше. То есть полезная площадь экрана будет превышать 95% от поверхности лицевой части.
По словам экспертов, ранний запуск инженерных работ обусловлен тем, что Samsung ужесточил требования по тестированию устройств после инцидента с аккумуляторными батареями Galaxy Note 7, который пришлось отозвать из продажи. На сегодняшний день специалисты склонны полагать, что Samsung развернул наиболее эффективную систему контроля качества продукции.

Гибкие смартфоны-трансформеры Samsung поступят в продажу не ранее 2019 года

Многочисленные сообщения в Сети о скором выходе смартфона Samsung Galaxy X с гибким экраном, способным трансформироваться в планшет, не подтверждаются. Связано это вовсе не с техническими проблемами, а с высоким спросом на безрамочные устройства, который с новой силой вспыхнул в этом сезоне, сразу после анонса Infinity Display в Galaxy S8.
Именно отсутствие необходимости поспешного вывода на рынок главного козыря техногиганта в виде смартфона-трансформера называется главной причиной сдвига внедрения этой технологии на будущее. Сначала покупателям предложат устройство, способное сгибаться только в одном месте, но позже будут представлены варианты с двумя точками изгиба. За оставшиеся пару лет в Samsung намерены довести технологию производства сгибающихся экранов до совершенства, а также решить вопрос, на какой операционной платформе будут работать новинки. В связи с тотальным переходом Samsung на собственную версию TIZEN OS, её применение в смартфонах становится для вендора всё более актуальным. Именно TIZEN позволит Samsung предложить гаджетоманам наиболее интересные форм-факторы с эксклюзивным функционалом. Ныне применяемая производителем мобильная ОС Android имеет существенные ограничения из-за жёсткого контроля со стороны Google, которая является владельцем "зелёного робота".

A Colorful, Curved Entertainment Experience

Samsung’s new CH711 Quantum Dot curved monitor is designed with gamers in mind. Available in 27- and 31.5-inch variations, and scheduled for an early 2017 commercial release, the CH711 delivers vivid, visually stunning picture quality, regardless of the content being enjoyed.

Featuring 1,800R curvature and an ultrawide 178-degree viewing angle, the CH711 makes content clearly visible wherever you may be in a room. Its ergonomic design also enables viewers to adjust the monitor’s horizontal and vertical positioning for optimal comfort. The Quantum Dot Monitor Evolution

The Displays of the Future
