По сообщениям отраслевых источников, Samsung уже более 14-ти лет занимает 1-е место на глобальном рынке телеприёмников. Что касается сегмента телевизоров класса High-End, то по итогам 2019 года доля Samsung составляет 52,4%, и это более чем в 2 раза превышает показатели корпорации Sony.
Samsung defeats competitors in the premium TV market with QLED technology
A couple of years ago, it seemed to market analysts that the technology based on organic light emitting diodes (OLED), used by LG and its customers (Sony, Panasonic etc.) in the production of premium TVs, was about to conquer the world. They were skeptical of Samsung’s rival QLED, based on supposedly “obsolete” LED technology, enhanced with the so-called “quantum grid” (QD or Quantum Dots). But time passed, and life put everything in its place. Very expensive and not very reliable in long-term operation, OLED technology lags far behind QLED TVs in terms of profitability.
While Samsung plans to sell some 8 million QLED TVs this year, all of its competitors combined have barely overcome the 1 million mark in the OLED TV segment.
According to industry sources, Samsung has been in first place on the global television market for more than 14 years. As for the segment of High-End TVs, by the end of 2019, Samsung's share is 52.4%, which is more than 2 times higher than Sony Corporation.
