Триумф "Десятки": прошлогодние флагманские смартфоны Samsung возглавили рейтинг "Роскачества" в 2020-м

Юбилейное 10-е поколение флагманских смартфонов Samsung Galaxy S в очередной раз празднует триумф в тестах российского экспертного сообщества.
Сегодня в официальном пресс-релизе производителя сообщается, что модель Galaxy S10+ (128Gb) заняла 1-е место в рейтинге, составленном  автономной некоммерческой организацией «Российская система качества» («Роскачество»), набрав более 4000 баллов. Смартфон был высоко оценён в таких важнейших позициях как дисплей, качество камеры, видео и звука, производительность, прочность устройства, удобство использования, связь. Кроме того в тесте особое внимание было уделено новым параметрам оценки, таким как конфиденциальность и безопасность личных данных.
Согласно опросу «Роскачества», батарея – самый важный фактор при выборе мобильного устройства для каждого 4-го пользователя, поэтому этот параметр стал в 2 раза важнее при определении лидера.
Кроме того, эксперты в 2 раза подняли важность категории «Прочность». Все гаджеты по-прежнему подвергали испытаниям на устойчивость к ударам и царапинам, а водонепроницаемым устраивали тесты с погружением в воду и имитацией дождя.
В прошлом году Galaxy S10+ уже становился лидером рейтинга «Роскачества», а также не раз отмечался международными экспертными организациями, в том числе занимал 1-е место в рейтинге камер DxOMark Mobile, становился лучшим смартфоном по версии Consumer Reports и смартфоном года по версии Techradar.
Любопытно, что в ТОП-10 рейтинга «Роскачества» присутствуют 8 моделей марки Samsung, в том числе актуальные флагманы серии Galaxy S20, которые, правда, уступили первенство своим прошлогодним собратьям.

The Dozens Triumph: Last year's Samsung flagship smartphones topped the Roskachestvo rating in April 2020

The jubilee 10th generation of the flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S once again celebrates its triumph in the tests of the Russian expert community.
Today in the official press release of the manufacturer it is reported that the Galaxy S10 + (128Gb) model took 1st place in the rating compiled by the independent non-profit organization Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), gaining more than 4000 points. The smartphone was highly appreciated in such important positions as the display, camera, video and sound quality, performance, device strength, usability, communication. In addition, in the test, special attention was paid to new assessment parameters, such as confidentiality and security of personal data.
According to a survey of experts from Roskachestvo, the battery is the most important factor when choosing a mobile device for every 4th user, therefore this parameter has become 2 times more important in determining the leader. In addition, experts 2 times raised the importance of the category "Strength". All gadgets were still tested for shock and scratch resistance, and waterproof smartphones were tested with immersion in water and simulated rain.
Last year, the Galaxy S10 + has already become the leader of the Roskachestvo rating, and has also been noted by international expert organizations more than once, including taking the 1st place in the DxOMark Mobile camera rating, becoming the best smartphone according to Consumer Reports and the smartphone of the year according to Techradar.
It is curious that in the TOP-10 rating of “Roskachestvo” there are 8 models of the Samsung brand, including the current flagships of the Galaxy S20 series, which, however, conceded the leader's title to their last year’s brothers.

Глядя на работы видеографа и продюсера Сэма Эванса, сложно поверить, что эти профессиональные видео были созданы с помощью смартфона Samsung Galaxy S20. Тем не менее, это правда. Эванс признаётся: несмотря на то,что изначально сам был настроен скептически, он быстро убедился — создавать по‑настоящему качественные видеоролики на современном смартфоне действительно возможно. Совет 1: Используйте естественное освещение

Студийные лампы и встроенная вспышка мобильной камеры — отличный инструмент в среде с контролируемым искусственным освещением, но при необходимости Galaxy S20 позволяет эффективно использовать и естественное освещение. Это особенно пригодилось фотографу во время полёта на вертолёте над Сан-Франциско: на видео ему удалось передать эффект тёплого свечения на закате. «Всего у нас было три S20,и мы смогли поэкспериментировать. Двое из нас использовали ручные штативы, а третий — карданный подвес, благодаря чему мы смогли добиться по‑настоящему кинематографичных кадров. Впрочем, в режиме Super Steady на S20 можно было обойтись и без этого. На этот смартфон можно снять целый фильм!», — поделился впечатлениями Сэм Эванс.
Кроме того, на закате объекты отбрасывают естественные длинные тени, которые полностью меняют настроение видео. А с преустановленным ночным режимом Bright Night на Galaxy S20 можно продолжать съёмку до самого вечера: на каждом кадре, в том числе, сделанном в сумерках, будут ясно видны все детали.

Совет 2: Используйте зум, чтобы добавить перспективу

Galaxy S20: 3 Tips to Shoot Like a Pro, From a Pro

Hey all – I want to give a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who watched my Galaxy S20 video shown at Unpacked this year. As a filmmaker from Australia, it was such an honor to be invited onto a global stage and share my work to such a diverse audience. I was super grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and the Samsung team really went out of their way to help me fulfill my vision.
Since Unpacked, I’ve had a lot of people reaching out inquiring how I got both the quality and types of shots shown from a phone - they couldn’t believe that a smartphone could produce such professional results. And to be honest, out the gate, I too was skeptical, unsure if we’d be able to achieve anything of quality by shooting an entire video solely on a phone. But I love a challenge and dove in – and I’m so glad I did because the results were phenomenal. That’s why I’m writing today, to pull back the curtain and share my experiences to help you get the most out of your Galaxy S20. 

Tip 1: Don’t be afraid to use natural light

Studio and mobile camera lights are great tools for controlled environments, but in a pinch the Galaxy S20 has plenty of features to make the most of natural light. We used it to our advantage on our helicopter ride, using the warm glow effect from the sunset to set the tone for the video. (Having a helicopter helped too 😉). We had three S20s in the helicopter and were able to experiment on how to shoot in different lighting. Two of us used handheld rigs and one shot on a gimbal so we could achieve those movie quality transition shots, although the S20 Super Steady feature is amazing on its own. You really could shoot a full feature with that set up.

Sunsets also provide natural, long shadows that can completely change the mood of your footage. And with the Galaxy S20’s Bright Night mode, filming can go longer into the evening in low light conditions without losing any of the fine details in your shots.

Tip 2: Use zoom to add perspective to your setting

Zooming in and out adds a more professional flare to your videos and helps set context for storytelling.  I was inspired by all the colorful doors and entryways in San Francisco and knew I needed a zoom-in montage of them to add to the video. The Galaxy S20 achieved these cools shots thanks to its incredible zoom capabilities! For photos you can get up to 100x zoom and videos up to 30x zoom depending on the resolution you’re shooting at with the S20 Ultra. Use the zoom to guide your audience.  For instance, focus on a specific building or spot in the city and slowly zoom out to show the whole cityscape. This will help set the subject of your video into the wider context of a scene and bring new meaning to a shot. Plus, the Galaxy S20 has preset zoom options so you can quickly get to the ideal level with a tap of the screen.

Tip 3: Time is your friend

Time lapse shots are versatile and can achieve a number of different effects. They’re perfect transitions to show the passage of time and they just look flat out cool. For our video we decided to try out the time lapse Night mode and it worked brilliantly. Like Bright Night, this option takes advantage of the Galaxy S20’s huge camera sensors so the final footage is brighter and clearer than ever. This was easily one of my favorite shots of the video.  We were so surprised by all the different time lapse effects we were able to create with the S20 and spent a lot of time trying different set ups, light saturation and movements to provide a variety of effects – and I encourage you to do the same. 
Now I will admit that I couldn’t have made this incredible video without the help from some of my close friends and photography experts. I’d like to thank local San Francisco photography legend Marc Donahue, who helped me plan out all 14 shot locations. I also leaned on my buddy Mathew Vanderputte, a Belgium-born, Sydney-based photographer known for his time-lapse skills, and the fine folks at VerifiedWorks for shooting and post help. The 5am starts and after midnight wraps were well worth it!
After this experience I can say I’m truly excited to spend more time with the Galaxy S20 and see how I can work it in to my everyday filmmaking. The fact that I can leave my heavy equipment at home and shoot on a device that fits in my pocket is game-changing. The S20 turned this skeptic into a believer – and the proof is in the pudding – or the footage in this case.

With an improved Night Mode on the Galaxy S10 series, and the addition of Night Hyperlapse on both Galaxy S10 and Note10 series3, you’ll be able to capture even more amazing photos and videos even in low light.
When you’ve captured that perfect image, Custom Filter lets you create your own filter with colors and styles you like from a favorite photo serving as inspiration. This creates a reusable filter that can be applied to future photos when captured.
For the aspiring filmmaker, Pro Video gives you even more control, allowing you to adjust settings like ISO, shutter speed and exposure level. You can also switch between the front and rear cameras while recording video.

Intelligent Gallery

This update also brings a variety of gallery features to help you organize your content. Thanks to AI technology, with Clean View enabled, the Gallery app automatically groups together similar shots of the same subject for a more organized gallery4. Users can easily review similar shots and select their favorite to serve as the photo group’s thumbnail. When viewing a photo in the gallery, you can zoom in on an image and press Quick Crop, located at the top left-hand corner, to crop photos to your desired size.

Samsung releases Galaxy S20 worldwide

Samsung Electronics on Friday launched its flagship smartphone Galaxy S20 models in 20 nations, including the US, Canada, Singapore, Vietnam, Puerto Rico and others - with plans to release them in 130 nations by end-March.
The new smartphone model comes in three types: 6.2-inch Galaxy S20, 6.7-inch S20 Plus and the 6.9-inch S20 Ultra. All the three variants support 5G network and camera system that utilizes artificial intelligence technology and the company’s high-end image sensor. 
However, the 6.2-inch Galaxy S20 does not have mmWave module, which is specifically designed to support 5G cellular network at higher frequencies from 30 GHz to 300 GHz. The 6.2-inch model has the lowest-end camera array among the three. 
The S20 Plus and the S20 Ultra have one extra camera each and come with mmWave modules for 5G networks. 
All the models that have been launched in Korea do not come with mmWave modules as the nation has not built network infrastructure that uses the millimeter wave spectrum.
In Korea, customers can get free Bixby-enabled smart speaker Galaxy Home Mini or portable printer Nemonic Mini, when purchasing S20 models on Samsung’s official website or other online shopping platforms, the company said.

Новое решение Samsung – это специальный защищённый от несанкционированного доступа «сейф», отдельный от обычной мобильной памяти, такой как встроенное универсальное флэш-хранилище (eUFS). В нём хранятся конфиденциальные и криптографические данные пользователей – пин-коды, пароли и даже учётные данные криптовалюты.
Secure Element на базе чипа S3K250AF сочетает в себе микроконтроллер, улучшенную защиту на аппаратном уровне и оптимизированную ОС. Благодаря оборудованию с сертификацией высочайшего уровня для мобильных компонентов CC EAL 5+, а также специализированному программному обеспечению, решение гарантирует безопасность мобильных устройств. Samsung Introduces Best-in-class Data Security Chip Solution for Mobile Devices

Samsung’s new Secure Element solution features secure key storage with CC EAL 5+ certification and dedicated security software for enhanced data protection

Samsung Electronics, a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, today introduced a Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (CC EAL) 5+ certified Secure Element (SE) turnkey solution for mobile devices. The new SE offers a strong security solution, consisting of a security chip (S3K250AF) and optimized software, that fully guards private data on an isolated data storage.
“Strong security measures have become a crucial feature in today’s smart devices as they evolve into essential tools that hold the key to our personal data connected to various services such as the cloud and financial transactions,” said Dongho Shin, senior vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung has a long and proven history in security solutions such as smart card ICs, IoT processors and other semiconductor products that require robust security. Our new turnkey SE solution for mobile devices will not only keep user data safer on the go but also enable new mobile applications that will broaden and enrich our everyday lives.”
From checking emails and making online payments to replacing house keys and airplane tickets, smart devices continue to offer more applications that enforce stronger security requirements. Samsung’s new turnkey solution is a dedicated tamper-resistant strongbox that securely stores users’ confidential and cryptographic data such as pin numbers, passwords and even crypto-currency credentials separate from the typical mobile memory such as embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS).
The S3K250AF-based SE combines a microcontroller, advanced hardware-level protection and an optimized secure OS. With a CC EAL 5+ certified-hardware, the highest level received by a mobile component, and dedicated protection software, the solution ensures top-notch security assurance on mobile devices. While current smartphones or tablets already have strong security in place to fend off possible tampering, the security-dedicated chip adds extra countermeasures to defend against possible attacks such as reverse engineering, power glitches and laser attacks, making it extremely harder for others to access or copy stored confidential data. In addition, the SE solution manages failed attempts and prevents replay attacks by accepting only the latest authentication request as a valid one.
Samsung’s new SE solution is currently in mass production and is featured in Samsung’s recently-announced Galaxy S20 series smartphones.

Samsung signs partnership with BTS to boost marketing

Samsung Electronics Co. signed a partnership with K-pop super band BTS for marketing of its new smartphones, company officials said Wednesday.
Samsung will first work with BTS for the boy band's global contemporary art initiative, "CONNECT, BTS," and will expand their collaboration to other areas, according to the officials.
"CONNECT, BTS" is a global initiative spearheaded in collaboration with curators from five major cities - London, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Seoul and New York - to connect people from across the world through art.
The art project was designed to dovetail with BTS' philosophy that centers around diversity, love and care for the periphery.
Samsung said it will support augmented reality (AR) docent service for the project, in which members of BTS appear and explain art pieces in a virtual system.
The South Korean tech giant also installed a media facade with its Galaxy devices for the art project in Seoul and New York.
Samsung didn't elaborate on its partnership with BTS, but industry insiders expect that the septet will participate in the company's various promotion and marketing events regarding its new smartphones launched earlier this month.
At Samsung's "Galaxy Unpacked 2020" in San Francisco, where the company unveiled the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Z Flip smartphones - BTS member V was spotted at the event.
"We hope we can deliver a good experience to fans of BTS and Galaxy devices around the globe through collaboration with BTS," a Samsung official said. "We are planning various activities other than 'CONNECT BTS.'"
