В течение апреля 2019 новые кинозалы Samsung Onyx открылись в Израиле, Индии и Малайзии

Samsung продолжает активно расширять сеть фирменных ультрасовременных кинозалов, где используются самые передовые достижения цифровых технологий и лучшие фирменные LED-экраны Onyx.

В течение апреля были запущены новые "кинотеатры без проектора" в Израиле, Индии и Малайзии. Причём две последние страны уже могут похвастаться (наряду с Китаем) наличием залов с самыми большим на сегодняшний день свтодиодными киноэкранами Samsung Onyx шириной более 14-ти метров. Напомним, что сейчас в портфолио Samsung имеются 3 конфигурации шириной 5, 10 и 14 метров, которые поддерживают стандарты вплоть до 4K 3D с повышенной частотой смены кадров, что значительно улучшает восприятие при просмотре, особенно в формате 3D.
Светодиодные экраны Onyx также могут похвастаться лучшими в мире техническими характеристиками, включая яркость, контрастность, поддержку стандарта HDR, идеальное отображение белого и глубокого чёрного. Кроме того, Onyx Cinema обладают самым большим цветовым охватом в отрасли, что гарантирует реалистичное отображение всех видимых человеческому глазу цветовых оттенков. Это, наконец, позволило режиссёрам донести до аудитории изображение именно в таком виде, в каком оно было задумано изначально.    

У кинопрокатных организаций неуклонно растёт спрос на новейшие профессиональные решения от Samsung, который на сегодняшний день является единственным поставщиком комплексных решений, включая не только LED-экраны, но и установки окружающего звука от известного американского производителя профессионального оборудования HARMAN (с марта 2017 года является дочерним подразделением Samsung Electronics).

Профильные СМИ сообщают, что у Samsung уже имеется целый пакет заказов на оборудование залов Onyx Cinema, включая Европу, США, Китай и т.д.

В одной только Индии к 2022 году будет функционировать порядка 40 LED-кинотеатров. Также интерес к дальнейшему расширению количества "залов без проектора" проявляют Израиль, Малайзия, страны Латинской Америки и т.д.

В настоящее время залы Onyx Cinema уже действуют на территории 17-ти стран, включая Южную Корею, Германию, Швейцарию, Австрию, Францию, США, Бразилию, Мексику, Колумбию и т.д.  

В России до сих пор не оборудовано ни одного зала Onyx и не имеется подтверждённых сведений об открытии таких кинотеатров в обозримой перспективе.

During April, the new Samsung Onyx cinema halls appeared not only in Malaysia, but also in India and Israel. By 2022, Samsung plans to significantly expand the network of Onyx cinemas. Известные южнокорейские режиссёры высоко оценили преимущества первого в мире кинотеатрального LED-экарана Samsung Cimena

"Это действительно вызывает эмоции, которые я надеялся передать в своём фильме", - сказал южнокорейский кинорежиссёр Хун Чен после премьерного показа его нашумевшей ленты "A Taxi Driver" ("Таксист") в первом в мире "кинозале без проектора", который оборудован уникальным LED-экраном Samsung Cinema и звуковой установкой от американской JBL/HARMAN (с марта 2017-го также принадлежащей Samsung).
Напомним, что первый в мире кинозал Samsung Cinema LED Screen (SUPER S) смонтирован в мультиплексе Lotte Cinema World Tower, расположенном в центре Сеула.
Хун Чен, известный такими захватывающими триллерами как "Secret Reunion" ("Тайное воссоединение") и "The Front Line" ("Фронтлайн") уже посмотрел свой фильм в нескольких других театрах, однако ни один из них не мог сравниться с тем, на что способен SUPER S, обладающий выдающимися техническими параметрами по яркости, контрастности и точности цветопередачи (за последнюю отвечает система HDR).
"Мне очень любопытно, как может выглядеть этот новый экран", - говорит Джанг, показывая на  огромный дисплей шириной более 10 метров, который обеспечивает ультравысокое 4K разрешение и глубокий чёрный цвет. "Теперь я вижу, что качество изображения и звука позволит таким режиссёрам как я, более эффективно достигать намеченных результатов".
"При использовании обычных проекционных систем качество изображения может сильно меняться от театра к театру, но Samsung Cinema обеспечивает постоянное качество изображения, вне зависимости от места, где будет установлен светодиодный экран", - говорит Джанг.

Acclaimed South Korean Film Directors Praise Samsung’s Cinema LED Screen

“It truly delivers the emotions I hoped to convey in my film,” South Korean film director Hoon Jang said of Samsung’s Cinema LED Screen after watching his recently premiered film, “A Taxi Driver,” on the display for the first time at the Lotte Cinema World Tower in Seoul.
The director, who is known for his engaging, well-plotted thrillers such as “Secret Reunion” and “The Front Line,” had already seen the film in several other theaters. However, none of the screenings could compare to the one at the SUPER S theater, the home of the world’s first Cinema LED Screen, a projector-less, HDR screen that creates a captivating viewing experience through next-generation picture quality and true-to-life audio.
“I’ve been really curious as to what this new screen might be like,” Jang said, referring to the 10.3-meter-wide display, which provides ultra-sharp resolution, bright colors and deep blacks. “Now, I can see that its picture and audio quality will enable directors like myself to more effectively achieve their intended results.”
Jang also noted that the display will help to ensure that all audiences of a film can have the same visual experience, in the way the filmmaker intended. “With conventional projector-based systems, picture quality can differ from theater to theater,” he said. “But the Cinema LED Screen will provide consistent picture quality, no matter the venue in which the film is shown.”
Jang is not the only big name in the industry to be impressed by the visually captivating display.
Director Woo-suk Yang (“The Attorney”) noted at the launching event of the Cinema LED Screen earlier this month that the unveiling of the display marked a “monumental moment” in the 120-year-long history of film, and that Samsung’s technology will create a “revolutionary change” in the way we watch movies.
“It’s been 20 years since the industry began using the term ‘digital cinema’ and it’s only now that we can enjoy motion pictures in a theater directly from the light source, rather than from a projector,” he said. “As a result, there are about to be a lot of changes across the movie industry as a whole – from the actual filming to the editing and finishing processes.”
Unlike standard projectors, which lose color quality as brightness is increased, the Cinema LED Screen maintains perfect color accuracy at peak brightness levels, which are nearly 10 times greater than those of conventional theater projectors. This allows for a more vibrant and immersive viewing experience, as the characters and settings on the screen look exactly as they would in real life. These realistic visuals are complemented by an audio performance that’s just as lifelike, thanks to the screen’s integrated sound technologies from JBL by HARMAN.
