Сегодня в столице Малайзии Куала-Лумпуре Samsung представляет свой новейший смартфон Galaxy A9, который первым в мире получил оснащение 4-камерным основным фотомодулем.
В дополнение к информации, которая была опубликована в нашем блоге накануне, сообщим, что в аппарате предусмотрено 19 режимов оптимизации изображения: Еда, Портрет, Цветы, Интерьер, Животные, Пейзаж, Зелень, Деревья, Небо, Горы, Пляж, Закат и рассвет, Побережье, Улица, Ночь, Водопад, Снег, Птицы, Текст. Функция "распознавание дефектов" выявляет засвеченные и размытые снимки, а также неудачные фото людей с закрытыми глазами. Точность функций "оптимизации изображения и "распознавание дефектов" может зависеть от условий съёмки и снимаемых объектов. Размытые кадры и фото с закрытыми глазами распознаются лучше, если на фотографии не более 3-х человек на расстоянии не далее 1,5 метров от объектива. Уведомления об обнаружении засвеченных снимков приходят каждые 24 часа при условии выключенного режима HDR.
Задняя стеклянная панель смартфона получила эффект 3D и 3 цветовых решения: чёрный, синий, розовый цветах. Samsung Galaxy A9 оснащён экраном Super AMOLED с диагональю 6,3 дюйма и разрешением FullHD+.
Galaxy A9 также получил функцию "всегда на дисплее" (Always On Display), благодаря которой в любой момент можно просматривать уведомления, оповещения, узнавать время, прогноз погоды и прочую информацию без активации прочих функций смартфона.
Galaxy A9 оснащён 8-ядерной однокристальной системой, 6Гб ОЗУ (8Гб для более продвинутой модификации) и 128Гб флэш-памяти. Кроме того, поддерживаются сменные карты microSD ёмкостью до 512Гб (как во флагманских моделях 2018 года серии S и Note).
Аккумулятор ёмкостью 3800 мА•ч заряжается через разъём USB-C с повышенной скоростью.
Поддерживаются технология идентификации пользователя и функция разблокировки смартфона по лицу. Также имеется дактилоскопический датчик.

Galaxy J7 (2016) станет первым бюджетным смартфоном Samsung, который сменит 3 поколения Android OS

Обилие предложений со стороны Samsung в бюджетном сегменте (особенно в J-серии) одновременно являлось и определённой проблемой, поскольку разрабатывать многочисленные программные обновления для всех модификаций даже у такой крупной корпорации не получалось вовремя. Поэтому поддержка недорогих моделей обычно не затягивалась надолго, а всё основное внимание было обращено на владельцев флагманских моделей серии S и Note.
Однако теперь, на фоне ожесточения конкуренции с китайскими производителями, в Samsung обратили внимание на повышение рейтинга своих бюджетников.
На днях стало известно, что модель двухлетней давности Galaxy J7 (2016) должна получить очередной апгрейд софта до версии Android 8.0 Oreo. Это будет уже 3-я программная "реинкарнация" популярной модели, которая до сих пор является одним из бестселлеров Samsung. Такая забота о продлении активной жизни бюджетного гаджета наблюдается впервые, и если тенденция будет сохранена, то обладателей популярных моделей J-серии наверняка ждут приятные сюрпризы.
Уже известно, что на очереди к обновлению стоят такие аппараты, как Galaxy J5 Prime, Galaxy J7 Nxt, Galaxy A8 (2016), Galaxy J7 Pro, Galaxy J5 (2017),  Galaxy J3 (2017), Galaxy J7 Prime, а также планшеты Galaxy Tab A (2016) и Galaxy Tab A (2016). Все они должны проапгрейдиться до декабря месяца включительно.
Не исключено, что серия J образца 2017 года благополучно доживёт и до новейшей Android P. Правда, такое обновление "прилетит" к ним не ранее второй половины 2019 года.

Samsung Galaxy J7(2016) will soon taste Android 8.0 Oreo

The news comes as part of a revised Android roadmap from Samsung which has modified the update schedule and has made it clear that the Galaxy J7 (2016) will be ported to Android Oreo by December 2018. The J7 (2016) will thus be the first smartphone under the J-series to be seeded with two major Android OS updates.
Samsung will soon seed the Galaxy J7(2016) with an update to Android 8.0 Oreo, more than two years after the mid-range phone was launched. This is the second major OS update for the J7(2016) which was released during March 2016. 
The news comes as part of a revised Android roadmap from Samsung which has modified the update schedule and has made it clear that the Galaxy J7 (2016) will be ported to Android Oreo by December 2018. The J7 (2016) will thus be the first smartphone under the J-series to be seeded with two major Android OS updates since its release two years ago.
When the J7(2016) was launched, the device came running with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and was later updated to Android 7.0 Nougat last year. Along with the J7, another device from 2016 will receive an update to the same Android Oreo firmware and that’s the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) which also launched running Android Marshmallow. 
While the Galaxy J7 Nxt and J7 Core currently get an update to Android Oreo, some reports suggest that the A8(2016), J7 Pro, J5(2017), J3(2017), J7 prime and Tab 2 Active will be rolled out with similar updates before the end of this year. 
To recall, the Galaxy J7(2016) originally came with a 5.5-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) full-HD AMOLED display and was powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded to 128GB via a microSD card slot. The device currently runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and packs in a 3,300mAh battery.

В Турции опубликован список смартфнов Samsung, которые получат обновление до Android Oreo в июле

В турецком сегменте официального интернет-ресурса Samsung опубликован список смартфонов, которые обновятся до Android 8.0 Oreo в течение июля 2018 года.
Перечень действителен для владельцев аппаратов, проживающих в Азии и Европе.
Смартфоны Samsung Galaxy A3 2017, Galaxy A5 2017 и Galaxy A7 2017 должны начать получать обновление прошивки на базе Android 8.0 Oreo с 6 июля. Затем придёт черёд моделей Galaxy J3 (SM-J330F), Galaxy J5 Pro и Galaxy J7 Pro. Для них распространение Oreo начнётся с 13 июля.
К настоящему времени Samsung уже выпустил обновление до Android 8.0 Oreo для всех актуальных флагманов, включая аппараты 2016 года выпуска Galaxy S7 и Galaxy S7 Edge. Модели среднего и часть моделей начального уровня получат апдейт в течение ближайших месяцев.
При этом ряд российских владельцев смартфонов серии Galaxy A (2017) уже сообщили, что получили обновление до Oreo ещё более месяца назад.

A slew of Samsungs slated to get Oreo in July

Samsung and Android updates. Not exactly a happy story for many. Nonetheless, slowly but surely, the Oreo update is trickling down from the flagship lines and coming to a whole bunch of mid-range Samsungs in July.
While some Samsung smartphone owners can claim to benefit from the Android Oreo update, unfortunately this is not the case for a large majority of the brand's customers. They will still have to wait until July to receive it if we believe the calendar published by Samsung in Turkey.  In addition to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge scheduled for this month, a bunch of smartphones are still waiting for the update.
We learn that the Galaxy A3 2017, A5 2017, A7 2017, J3, J5 Pro and J7 Pro will benefit from the update tomorrow. While mid-range Samsungs aren't the most glamorous phones out there, they are certainly among the most popular, so these updates should do a lot to push the latest Android version out to the masses, even if the successor isn't so far away.
It should be mentioned that this information concerns the Turkish market. The current update schedule is still not ideal, but at least it's good to see some older non-flagship Samsung devices able to taste Android Oreo.

Впервые о новом смартфоне Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) профильные издания узнали в феврале, когда в базу данных Geekbench попал аппарат с маркировкой SM-J400F, из чего можно было сделать вывод, что Samsung готовит аппарат с ранее неиспользовавшимся индексом.
Сегодня это устройство "засветилось" в базе тайваньского регулятора NCC, равно как и его довольно некачественные фото.
Как видно, в отличие от старших моделей линейки Galaxy J 2017 года, новая модель получит съёмную пластиковую крышку. А это означает, что аккумуляторную батарею можно будеи заменить без проблем.
Девайс оснащён одинарной камерой, SoC Exynos 7570, 2Гб ОЗУ, 16Гб флэш-памяти, а также ОС Android Oreo. Иллюстрации показывают, что дисплей будет иметь классическое соотношение сторон.
По всей видимости до официального анонса осталось совсем немного времени.
Кроме упомянутой выше модели, базе NCC имеются данные и о смартфоне Galaxy J6 (2018). Скорее всего новинки будут представлены либо одновременно, либо с небольшим временным лагом.

Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) live pictures published by regulatory agency

Samsung is expected to unveil no less than four new Galaxy J smartphones this month, including the Galaxy J4 (2018), probably the cheapest of them. The device leaked for the first time back in February when it got listed on Geekbench's database, along with some of its specs.
Today, the phone popped up at Taiwan's NCC certification website, which means Samsung plans to introduce the Galaxy J4 (2018) very soon. Along some of the phone's specs, NCC lists a handful of live pictures showing the entry-level handset.
Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) should come equipped with a 1.4GHz Exynos quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and either 16GB expandable storage. A single-lens camera is visible in the pictures, but we don't have any info on its size yet.
We also know the phone will come with dual-SIM support and Android 8.0 Oreo on board. It's likely to feature a 3.5mm audio jack port as well, along with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE support.
It's also worth mentioning that the Taiwanese regulatory agency lists another Samsung mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy J6 (2018), which should be made official along with the Galaxy J4 (2018) model.

Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition - это обновлённая версия нашумевшего смартфона Galaxy Note 7, который был отозван через месяц после запуска из-за выявленных проблем с аккумуляторными батареями, что явилось беспрецедентным случаем в истории мобильного бизнеса Samsung.
Как показало тщательное независимое расследование, инициированное самим производителем, причинами возгорания стали погрешности при проектировании батарей (в основном производства гонконгской фирмы Amperex) и их слишком плотной упаковки в корпусе девайса.
Помимо расширенных возможностей Oreo, открывающих доступ к опциям, характерным для более поздних флагманов Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8 и Galaxy S9, апдейт штатного ПО приносит владельцам Galaxy Note 7 FE апрельское обновление безопасности Android.
В ближайшие месяцы обновление на Android Oreo 8.0 получат и многие другие смарт-девайсы Samsung, вплоть до среднебюджетных моделей типа Galaxy J7 (2017). 

Android Oreo for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition begins rolling out

As expected, Samsung has started rolling out the Oreo update to the Galaxy Note7 Fan Edition smartphone. The update is currently hitting LG U+ and SK Telecom units in South Korea. Other carriers are also expected to roll out the update soon.
There's currently no information on when the Galaxy Note7 FE models outside of Korea will be getting the update, although it's reasonable to assume that'll happen sooner than later. The Galaxy S7 series should now be next in line for Oreo.

Флэш-модуль рассчитан на хранение 32Гб информации. Дополнительно можно установить карту microSD объёмом до 256 Гб. Смартфон имеет модули беспроводной связи Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac и Bluetooth v5, приёмник GPS/ГЛОНАСС, 3,5-миллиметровое гнездо для наушников, а также дактилоскопический сканер.
Аккумуляторная батарея имеет приличную ёмкость 3000 мА·ч. Габариты составляют 153,5×77,2×8,2 мм, вес — 174 грамма. В качестве операционной системы из коробки предлагается Android 8.0 (Oreo). Аппарат позволяет устанавливать 2-е SIM-карты.
Согласно предварительной информации, J7 Duo получит поддержку интеллектуального голосового помощника Bixby, что также будет новацией в бюджетной серии смартфонов главного южнокорейского вендора. 
Продажи Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo начнутся в конце апреля по цене 260 долларов США.

Samsung Launches Galaxy J7 Duo in India, Brings Dual Camera to J Series

Samsung India today expanded its best-selling range of Galaxy smartphones by introducing Galaxy J7 Duo. Galaxy J is India’s most popular smartphone series, accounting for every third smartphone sold in the country.
With Galaxy J7 Duo, the dual camera makes its debut in the J series. The rear camera in Galaxy J7 Duo has a 13MP and 5MP setup, while the front camera sports 8MP. Both cameras come with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, making Galaxy J7 Duo an excellent smartphone for low light photography.
Galaxy J7 Duo will be available at a price of INR 16,990 in Black and Gold colours. Galaxy J7 Duo will be available across retail stores starting April 12th, 2018.

Samsung готовит к выпуску новые смартфоны среднего класса Galaxy A6/A6+

Организация Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) опубликовала сертификационные документы нового смартфона марки Samsung, который, вероятнее всего, появится на рынке под названием Galaxy A6. Аппарат получил заводскую маркировку SM-A600FN. Не вызывает сомнений, что работает он под управлением ОС Android 8.0 Oreo.
Если суммировать данные более ранних утечек из бенчмарка GeekBench и нынешние от WFA, трубка будет поддерживать работу в сетях Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, а в качестве процессора планируется использовать 8-ядерный Exynos 7870 и графику Mali-T830, что говорит о достаточно хорошем оснащении гаджета в плане производительности, хотя она вряд ли превысит возможности предыдущей модели Galaxy A5 (2017).
Судя по тенденции последних месяцев, безрамочный дизайн теперь перекочует из флагманских моделей S-серии в премиальные девайсы серии A.
Объём ОЗУ, согласно предварительным данным, будет составлять 3Гб. Диагональ экрана, предположительно, составит 5,5 дюймов, а сам дисплей изготовлен по фирменной технологии Super AMOLED. Что касается объёма постоянной памяти, то он составит 32Гб с возможностью расширения с помощью карт MicroSD.
Другие спецификации аппарата пока неизвестны, поскольку Wi-Fi Alliance публикует ограниченное количество данных, касающихся, в основном, характеристик модулей беспроводной связи.
Профильные СМИ также сообщают о подготовке к массовому производству старшей модификации Galaxy A6+, получившей маркировку SM-A605G. В отличие от базовой версии она демонстрирует более высокие технические параметры: процессор Snapdragon 625 и 4Гб ОЗУ.

Samsung Galaxy A6 Certified by Wi-Fi Alliance

It seems that Samsung is planning to launch a brand new mid-range smartphone this year: Samsung Galaxy A6. After two alleged variants of this handset were spotted on Geekbench, the device has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. This official certification confirms its existence and lets us know that it will probably launch soon. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi Alliance did not reveal any of the specs of this upcoming device, so it is still shrouded in the mystery.
According to Wi-Fi Alliance, Samsung Galaxy A6 has the model number SM-A600FN and Android 8.0 Oreo is installed, so it will come out of the box. No more info has been revealed, but thanks to the previous Geekbench leak we already know a few details about its specs. Even though it will be called A6, according to Geekbench it will have lower-end specs than the Galaxy A5 (2017). Under the hood, the handset sports an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7870 SoC which is also present on the Galaxy A3 (2017) and some devices of the Galaxy J series. Samsung Exynos 7870 is an octa-core chipset composed of eight Cortex-A53 CPUs; it also includes a Mali T830 MP1 GPU.
The SoC will be paired with 3GB of RAM, while the internal storage is not known yet.
According to the benchmarking platform, a Plus version of this device will be released as well and it will bring the code name SM-A605G. Unlike the standard version, this one seems better than the Galaxy A5. The A6+ will sport an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor unlike most of Samsung midranges, and 4GB of RAM.

На днях слухи подтвердились, поскольку в базе данных GFXBench был замечен девайс, маркированный как SM-T825. Практически нет сомнений, что это тот самый Galaxy S4, анонс которого, предположительно, состоится 25 февраля в рамках предстоящей выставки MWC 2018 в Барселоне.
Из документации следует, что Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 получит 10,5-дюймовый Super AMOLED-экран с разрешением 2560x1600 пикселей (QHD+), 8-ядерный процессор Snapdragon 835 с тактовой частотой 2,45 ГГц и графическим ускорителем Adreno 530, 4Гб ОЗУ и 64Гб постоянной флэш-памяти, 12Мп основную и 7Мп фронтальную камеры, а также слот для установки SIM-карты, дополнительной карты памяти, модули Wi-Fi 802.11ac и Bluetooth 5.0 LE.
Операционной системой новинки значится Android 8.0 Oreo, поэтому прямо «из коробки» владельцы нового флагмана Samsung получат доступ к новейшей операционке.
К особенностям будущей новинки от южнокорейской корпорации можно отнести стереоакустику легендарной австрийской марки AKG (ныне принадлежит Samsung), поддержку стилуса S Pen, возможность подключить специальную клавиатуру, а также дисплей, способный отображать идеально черный цвет, благодаря чему просмотр фильмов и видеороликов превращается в сплошное удовольствие.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Benchmarked With Android 8.0, Snap Dragon 835

S4 family leaked online earlier this week, having been spotted in the database of Android benchmarking tool GFXBench. The specs mentioned in the listing that can be seen below suggest the successors to the Galaxy Tab S3 series will debut improvements across the board, with the newly benchmarked model seemingly being the larger member of the lineup, featuring a 10.5-inch screen with a QHD resolution of 2,560 by 1,600 pixels amounting to an aspect ratio of 8:5 that isn’t as elongated as the 16:9 image format.
The SM-T835 was listed as boasting the Adreno 540 GPU and a Qualcomm-made octa-core chip clocked at up to 2.3GHz, with those characteristics being indicative of the Snapdragon 835, the same silicon that powered the U.S. variants of the Galaxy S8 lineup and the Galaxy Note 8. Given how last year’s Galaxy Tab S3 family launched with a flagship SoC from 2016, the presence of the 2017 Snapdragon 835 inside the Galaxy Tab S4 is in line with that product strategy. The tablet was certified as having 3.1GB of RAM which in reality likely amounts to 4GB, whereas the difference between the two figures is the amount of memory reserved for the operating system. 64GB of internal flash storage is also part of the package, presumably expandable via a microSD card. The model discovered in GFXBench’s database has cellular capabilities and a single SIM tray. Its primary camera is of the 12-megapixel variety and has a flash unit, whereas the front-facing module utilizes an 8-megapixel sensor, the benchmark suggests. The device was tested while running Android 8.0 Oreo, likely enhanced with Samsung’s own software.
With the Galaxy Tab S3 family launching at Mobile World Congress 2017, it’s likely that the tablets meant to succeed it will be introduced at this year’s iteration of the Barcelona, Spain-based trade show. Samsung is hosting a new “Unpacked” product event on February 25, a day before MWC 2018 opens its doors to the public, though it’s presently unclear whether the happening will be solely dedicated to the Galaxy S9 lineup or if the company will also use it as an opportunity to introduce its new high-end tablets.

Характеристики аппарат указывают на то, что в случае выхода на коммерческий рынок SM-J400F пополнит ассортимент бюджетных смартфонов Samsung.

Upcoming Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) pops up in a benchmark

It bears the model number SM-J400, and its existence has been revealed by the Geekbench database. The benchmark run that a prototype was put through helpfully tells us a couple of things about the phone.
It's powered by the Exynos 7570 chipset, an entry-level part announced in 2016. It is built on the 14nm process, making it quite power efficient, and comes with four Cortex-A53 cores, clocked at up to 1.43 GHz in the J4. Given what the SoC supports, screen resolution will be 720p tops.
The handset is endowed with 2GB of RAM, and it runs Android 8.0 Oreo already. Thus it will probably end up being among the first lower-end Samsung phones to ship with Oreo.

Samsung Galaxy S9 likely to feature DSLR-level camera

Samsung Electronics’ upcoming Galaxy S9 smartphone is likely to feature an improved “Infinity Display” and a camera that can shoot DSLR pictures, according to news reports on Feb. 14.
An invitation released by Samsung to the media bore the slogan “The Camera. Reimagined,” suggesting huge improvements in the camera department, industry watchers said. The smartphone is set to be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress, which kicks off Feb. 25.
The new smartphone reportedly has a camera with a variable aperture arrangement that can allow users to take pictures at a very fast f/1.5 to a slightly slower f/2.4, depending on conditions, the sources said. 
A lower f-stop translates into more light hitting the sensor resulting in better low-light performance. A better aperture on a lens can permit higher shutter speeds and out-of-focus blur that is favored for portrait shots by many photographers.
The main camera on the Korean tech giant’s current flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone, is still rated one of the best in the business, with an aperture of f/1.7 compared with the slightly better f/1.6 adopted by LG Electronics’ V30 smartphone.
While the Galaxy S9 Plus will feature a dual camera with optical zoom functionality, the smaller Galaxy S9 will have just a single module, the sources predicted.

Media leaks regarding the upcoming smartphone suggest that the new camera will carry Samsung’s latest ISOCELL mobile imaging sensor, which can permit more shots to be processed more quickly by the smartphone.

Документация от Samsung, попавшая недавно в Сеть, проливает свет на программные обновления смартфонов и планшетов серии Galaxy до более актуальной версии Android 8.0 Oreo. Samsung традиционно не спешит с подобными обновлениями, поскольку дорожит своей репутацией и старается максимально избегать различных "косяков" ПО в случае массового запуска рассылки. Это не Apple, которая "тренируется на хомячках", готовых простить ей любые, даже самые неприятные огрехи. В отличие от конкурентов, разработчики Samsung долго тестируют новые версии Android, прежде чем выкатывать их хотя бы в бэта-версиях.

Samsung Android 8.0 Oreo Update Will be Arriving to These Galaxy Smartphones, Tablets

Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s leaked build of Android 8.0 Oreo has revealed the list of the forthcoming Galaxy smartphones and tablets that may launch this year. Also, it contains the names of Samsung’s smartphones and tablets that will be treated with Android 8.0 Oreo.
Various smartphone manufactures such as HTC, Motorola, Nokia and so on have started the rollout of Android 8.0 for their smartphones. Samsung is one of the smartphone companies that are quite slow at rolling out new Android version. It is yet to release to Android 8.0 Oreo update for its 2017 flagship phones like Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 8. Here is the list of smartphones that will be receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo:

The presence of the 2015 Galaxy Tab A tablet in the list seems out of place as it was launched with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Hence, it is unlikely to receive Oreo upgrade.

The following phones that are not listed above are expected to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update since they were launched within the last two years: Galaxy C9 Pro, Galaxy C7 Pro, Galaxy J7 Pro, Galaxy J5 Pro and Galaxy S7 Active.

Some of the mid-range and low-end phones may not receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update this year. Samsung is yet to release an official statement on the Galaxy smartphones and tablets that are eligible to receive Oreo update. Since the Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones are going to receive the Oreo update in the near future, the company may release the official list of Oreo upgradeable devices soon.
