"Флагманские бюджетники" Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) получили программное обновление до Android 9 Pie с фирменной оболочкой One UI

В самом начале июня бюджетная серия смартфонов Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017), в том числе модификации Galaxy J7 NXT и Galaxy J7 Pro начали получать Android Pie с фирменным пользовательским интерфейсом One UI. Обновление Android 9 Pie первыми получили владельцы таких аппаратов в России, где модель стала бестселлером, затем прошивка стала доступна для модификации Galaxy J7 NXT в Таиланде, а также в Мексике, Испании и Алжире. Galaxy J7 (2017), Galaxy J7 NXT и Galaxy J7 Pro были выпущены ещё в июле 2017 года с предустановленной версией Android 7.0 Nougat.
Обновление Android Pie для всех модификаций Samsung Galaxy J7 поставляется вместе с майским патчем безопасности операционной системы. Обновление для Galaxy J7 содержит прошивку под номером J730FMXXU5CSEE, у Galaxy J7 NXT это версия J701FXXU6CSF1, в то время как Galaxy J7 Pro имеет версию прошивки J730FXXU4CSF1 размером более 1,02Гб.
В дополнение к майскому обновлению системы безопасности, прошивки включают в себя новейший фирменный интерфейс One UI, который заменил прежнюю оболочку Samsung Experience UX и предлагает новые возможности, в том числе усовершенствованное управление жестами, а также массу улучшений по сравнению с предыдущей версией пользовательского меню. Также ожидается, что производитель внесёт дополнения, исправляющие ошибки, улучшит настройки на уровне системы для получения возможности более комфортной работы.
Пользователи в тех странах, гле уже доступна новая прошивка, могут вручную проверить наличие обновления Android Pie, последовательно выбрав в меню позиции «Настройки» > «Обновление программного обеспечения». На всякий случай рекомендуется сделать резервную копию важных данных (если таковые имеются в вашем телефоне), прежде чем начать обновление. 

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017),  Galaxy J7 NXT, Galaxy J7 Pro Android Pie Update With One UI Rolling Out in Global Markets

Samsung Galaxy J7, Galaxy J7 NXT and Galaxy J7 Pro have started receiving Android Pie with One UI on top. The Android Pie update for the Galaxy J7 NXT is reportedly rolling out in Thailand, while the Galaxy J7/J7 Pro users in Russia, Mexico, Spain, and Algeria are said to be eligible for the new experience. Some users in Russia initially received the Android Pie update on their Galaxy J7 Pro earlier this month. The Galaxy J7 NXT and Galaxy J7 Pro both were launched back in July 2017 with Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Android Pie update for both the Samsung Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J7 Pro comes along with the May 2019 Android security patch. The update for the Galaxy J7 Duos brings firmware version J730FMXXU5CSEE, Galaxy J7 NXT reportedly brings firmware version J701FXXU6CSF1, while the Galaxy J7 Pro is said to carry firmware version J730FXXU4CSF1 and is over 1,02Gb in size.
In addition to the May security patch, the Android Pie update for the Galaxy J7 NXT and Galaxy J7/J7 Pro is reported to include Samsung's One UI that replaces the existing Samsung Experience UX and brings all-new gestures and tons of improvements over the previous custom interface. We can also expect various bug fixes and system-level tweaks and improvements to enhance the overall experience.
As we mentioned, the update for the Galaxy J7 Nxt is initially limited to Thailand, while the Galaxy J7/J7 Pro update is reportedly rolling out in Russia, Mexico, Spain, and Algeria. The rollout in Russia was first reported earlier this month. Moreover, the details about the rollout of the latest update in India and other markets are yet to be revealed.
The users in eligible markets can manually check the availability of the Android Pie update by going to Settings > Software updates. It is recommended to back up data before proceeding with the update.

Благодаря этому владельцы смарт-часов и фитнес-браслетов Samsung получают обновления гораздо чаще и в течение более длительного периода, чем "гуглофоны".
Сегодня в США флагманские Samsung Gear S3 (2016) и более доступные Gaer sport (2017) получили новые прошивки R760XXU2DSA1/R760OXA2DSA1 и R600XXU1BSA1/R600OXA1BSA1/ соответственно, которые приносят версию TIZEN 4.0.0.2. Запуск в других регионах начнётся в ближайшие дни. 
Теперь популярное фитнес-приложение Samsung Health поддерживает ещё больше видов тренировок на открытом воздухе. Появилась поддержка отображения информации о стадиях сна. Панель быстрого доступа получила улучшенный интерфейс для более удобного взаимодействия. 
В смарт-часах появились 2 новых режима — «театр» и «сон». Их также можно активировать через быстрый доступ. Меню настроек видоизменилось. Панель уведомлений теперь показывает изображения входящих MMS и автоматически воспроизводит анимированные картинки. В мессенджере можно сохранять черновики. Кроме того, поддерживается более 1.000 эмодзи.

TIZEN-powered Samsung Gear S3/Gear S3 Classic and Gear Sport gets a big update with a host of new features

Samsung is treating its customers to a new software update as it has begun rolling out TIZEN 4 to the Samsung Gear S3 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier and Gear Sport smartwatches.
This new update comes with the version number R760XXU2DSA1/R760OXA2DSA1 for the Gear S3 and R600XXU1BSA1/R600OXA1BSA1/ for the Gear Sport, and is ~299MB in size. Notably, the software update bumps up the TIZEN version on these watches to v4.0.0.2.

The official changelog of this update is as follows:

* Samsung Health – Support various indoor workouts and back-to-back workout.
* Samsung Health Widget – Samsung Health Widget now also supports and provides sleep stages information.
* Advanced – Two advanced modes (Theater, Sleep) are added to keep user from disturbance during specific time and place. Modes can be toggled from quick panel.
* Quick Panel – Newly added quick settings. Easier and faster interaction.
* Messages – Draft messages can now be saved. Additionally, showing MMS image on notification cover view and animated messages are automatically played. Replying is now quicker and easier. Over 1,000 emojis supported.
* Music – User can change to different music play source on Watch instead of using a Phone.
* Setting menu – Improved categorizing of menus for better discovery of features and items.

XDA Recognized Contributor linuxct also found a few other interesting changes on the Gear Sport which are not mentioned in the official changelog:

* Screenshots can now be taken by pressing and holding the power button and swiping the screen from left to right.
* New Permissions Management:
* Similar to the permissions management system present in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, when you open an app that requires Storage or Microphone permission, the user is granted a prompt to allow or deny the request, instead of instantly granting it by default.
* Permissions can now be managed from Settings > Apps > Permissions.
* Sliding down the Quick Settings menu is now much smoother.

The update is likely rolling out in a staged manner, so it should reach all devices sooner or later.

В то время как внимание любителей носимых гаджетов уже переключилось на грядущую модель Samsung Galaxy Watch, южнокорейский техногигант продолжает поддержку своих девайсов прежних поколений.
Накануне появились сообщения, что флагман 2016 года Samsung Gear S3 получил очередное программное обновление, призванное оптимизировать работу системы питания.
После глобального обновления в ноябре 2017 года на следующую версию операционной системы (с TIZEN 2.4 до TIZEN 3.0), принесшей целый ряд новых функций, некоторые пользователи заметили перерасход заряда аккумуляторной батареи. Впоследствии Samsung выпустил несколько патчей, чтобы исправить проблему, однако некоторые владельцы Gear S3 не были удовлетворены результатами.
На сей раз модели Gear S3 Frontier и Gear S3 Classic получили новые сборки R760XXU2CRG3 и R770XXU2CRG3 соответственно. Помимо исправления проблем с расходом заряда, обновления приносят улучшения стабильности работы системы.
Размер новой прошивки составляет 16,3 Мб. Процесс обновления предельно прост: запустите приложение Samsung Gear на своём смартфоне и последовательно перейдите разделы Настройки » О Gear » Обновить Gear.

Samsung Gear S3-series get firmware update, fixes the battery overheating issue

Samsung released a minor firmware update for the Gear S3 Classic and Frontier. The TIZEN version is bumped to 3.0.0.2 while the firmware numbers for the Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier wearables are R770XXU2CRG3/R760XXU2CRG3, respectively. The size of the package is just 16.3MB.

The firmware doesn't add anything new, but fixes the battery charging and overheating issue so that's why the log says "changed battery charge algorithm". After the TIZEN 3.0 update, some users reported battery ovrheating towards 90% charge so they had to remove the wearable to cool off and then put it back on the pad to charge it to 100%. No need of doing that anymore.
The usual "bug fixes and stability improvements" are at hand too. If you still haven't received the update, you can try searching for it manually from About Gear -> Update Gear software in the Samsung Gear app on your smartphone.

В Турции опубликован список смартфнов Samsung, которые получат обновление до Android Oreo в июле

В турецком сегменте официального интернет-ресурса Samsung опубликован список смартфонов, которые обновятся до Android 8.0 Oreo в течение июля 2018 года.
Перечень действителен для владельцев аппаратов, проживающих в Азии и Европе.
Смартфоны Samsung Galaxy A3 2017, Galaxy A5 2017 и Galaxy A7 2017 должны начать получать обновление прошивки на базе Android 8.0 Oreo с 6 июля. Затем придёт черёд моделей Galaxy J3 (SM-J330F), Galaxy J5 Pro и Galaxy J7 Pro. Для них распространение Oreo начнётся с 13 июля.
К настоящему времени Samsung уже выпустил обновление до Android 8.0 Oreo для всех актуальных флагманов, включая аппараты 2016 года выпуска Galaxy S7 и Galaxy S7 Edge. Модели среднего и часть моделей начального уровня получат апдейт в течение ближайших месяцев.
При этом ряд российских владельцев смартфонов серии Galaxy A (2017) уже сообщили, что получили обновление до Oreo ещё более месяца назад.

A slew of Samsungs slated to get Oreo in July

Samsung and Android updates. Not exactly a happy story for many. Nonetheless, slowly but surely, the Oreo update is trickling down from the flagship lines and coming to a whole bunch of mid-range Samsungs in July.
While some Samsung smartphone owners can claim to benefit from the Android Oreo update, unfortunately this is not the case for a large majority of the brand's customers. They will still have to wait until July to receive it if we believe the calendar published by Samsung in Turkey.  In addition to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge scheduled for this month, a bunch of smartphones are still waiting for the update.
We learn that the Galaxy A3 2017, A5 2017, A7 2017, J3, J5 Pro and J7 Pro will benefit from the update tomorrow. While mid-range Samsungs aren't the most glamorous phones out there, they are certainly among the most popular, so these updates should do a lot to push the latest Android version out to the masses, even if the successor isn't so far away.
It should be mentioned that this information concerns the Turkish market. The current update schedule is still not ideal, but at least it's good to see some older non-flagship Samsung devices able to taste Android Oreo.

TIZEN-смартфон Samsung Z4 получил обновление ПО

Вышедший 11 месяцев назад на индийский рынок бюджетный смартфон Samsung Z4 получил обновление программного обеспечения под номером Z400FODDOBRB1.
Новый апдейт для версии TIZEN 3.0.0.1 устраняет ошибки, улучшает стабильность работы устройства, а также увеличивает производительность. Кроме того, сообщается о внедрении новых функций и расширении уже имеющихся.
При этом объём файла небольшой - всего 8,8Мб. Но уччитывая тот факт, что TIZEN OS традиционно отличается малыми размерами и высокой экономичностью, то этого вполне достаточно, чтобы внести существенные изменения в работу оперционной системы.

The latest update is version Z400FODDOBRB1 and still retains the TIZEN platform version as 3.0.0.1. The update measures in at only 8.8MB and the full changelog can be found below.

Продажи новых смарт-часов Gear Sport и беспроводных смарт-наушников Gear IconX (2018) стартовали 27 октября в Южной Корее, США, Канаде и некоторых странах Европы. Уже 31 октября девайсы получили программные обновления, расширяющие их возможности и улучшающие стабильность работы.
В аннотации к обновлению смарт-часов Samsung Gear Sport производитель сообщает, что после апдейта гаджет улучшит качество мониторинга физического состояния владельца, повысит производительность за счёт устранения ряда ошибок, а также обеспечит лучшую безопасность от хакерских атак.
Кроме того, добавлены новые опции, в частности, контроль веса (Samsung Health Weight), фитнесс-программы, виджет "Сводка состояния" (Health Summary) и многое другое.
В свою очередь, беспроводная смарт-гарнитура IconX, работающая (как и Gear Sport) на операционной системе TIZEN, после апдейта повысит качество соединения с внешними устройствами по протоколу Bluetooth.
Напомним, что предзаказ в России на эти высокотехнологичные новинки от южнокорейского техногиганта стартовал в прошлом месяце и в ближайшие дни оба девайса поступят в открытую продажу.
Рекомендованная цена для Samsung Gear Sport составляет около 20.000 рублей, а за Samsung Gear IconX попросят порядка 12.000.

Gear Sport Firmware Update

Firmware version R600XXU1AQJ5 is now being rolled out for the Gear Sport. The Gear Sport firmware update that Samsung has released today weighs in at 28.70MB. The changelog reveals that it improves sensor accuracy. The accuracy of sensors that detect heart rate and pace during exercise has particularly been improved.
The new features that this update adds include Samsung Health Weight management, Fitness programs, Health Summary widget and more. Security improvements for the device are included as well. This Gear Sport firmware update brings the usual slew of device stability improvements and bug fixes as well.
The Gear Sport is now available for purchase in markets like South Korea and the United States. Samsung is offering it in Blue and Black colors with a wide variety of changeable 20mm straps.

Gear IconX (2018) Update

Measuring 18.9 x 21.8 x 22.8 mm, the new Gear IconX (2018) weighs just 8 grams per earbud. They feature 4GB of internal storage. The 82mAh battery promises music playback of up to 7 hours and a talk time of up to 4 hours. That’s a significant improvement over the original Gear IconX.
The new earbuds are also capable of launching Bixby when they’re paired with a supported device like the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8. They feature an accelerometer and a heart-rate monitor for activity tracking. The data is then synced with Samsung’s S Health platform.
Samsung is rolling out firmware version R140XXUAQJ2 for the Gear IconX (2018) today. The changelog mentions that this update has “improved stabilizing Bluetooth connection.”
Samsung has started selling the Gear IconX (2018) in a handful of markets. It’s available in black, gray and pink colors for 229.99 euro.
