Samsung представил обновление ПО, расширяющее возможности смартфонов серии Galaxy А функциями Galaxy S20.

Теперь владельцы моделей Galaxy A51 и A71 получили доступ к одному из самых популярных флагманских режимов – «Мультикадр».
«Мультикадр» позволяет снимать сразу несколько фотографий и видео, например, в режиме «Живой фокус», с AI-фильтром, с применением «Умного кадрирования» и использовать AI (искусственный интеллект), чтобы рекомендовать лучшие из них.
Galaxy A51 и A71 с обновлением также получили некоторые функции режима Pro, в том числе «Ручной фокус» и регулировку выдержки для контроля процесса и экспериментов с созданием контента.

Делитесь легко

С обновлённым ПО стал доступен удобный способ делиться изображениями, видео и музыкой с помощью Music Share и «Быстрой отправки». Последняя позволяет увидеть пользователей поблизости и быстро поделиться с ними информацией, просто нажав на соответствующую иконку.
Music Share дает возможность друзьям подключиться к Bluetooth-динамикам пользователя непосредственно через его смартфон, для этого нужно вызвать панель быстрых настроек и нажать значок Music Share. Либо можно перейти в раздел Настройки > Подключения > Bluetooth > Дополнительно, чтобы включить или отключить общий доступ к музыке.

Улучшенная клавиатура и галерея

Для еще более удобного ежедневного взаимодействия со смартфоном функциональность клавиатуры и галереи также была расширена.
Свайп вверх с главного экрана вызывает меню приложений. Еще до того, как пользователь закончит формировать запрос в поисковой строке, предиктивный алгоритм предложит подходящие варианты, в том числе приложения, контакты и настройки. При необходимости поиск можно расширить, выбрав опцию «Больше результатов».
С функцией Clean View галерея группирует до 100 последовательно снятых изображений для удобного просмотра и оптимизации с возможностью выбора заглавной картинки для группы. Теперь можно кадрировать изображение прямо с экрана просмотра: при увеличении картинки двумя пальцами слева сверху появляется значок для кропа.

Samsung has released a new software update bringing a range of leading Galaxy S20 features to the Galaxy A series. Galaxy A51 and A71 device users will now be able to harness some of the Galaxy S20 series’ powerful innovations, designed to make the way we capture, connect and share more dynamic than ever before.

Change the Way You Capture

The Galaxy S20 has a camera packed with innovative features for a more professional shooting experience. Galaxy A51 and A71 users can now capture their memories exactly as they happen with such leading S20 features as Single Take.
Single Take takes the burden of choosing a camera mode out of your hands by recording with several camera modes simultaneously. Just by tapping record with the Single Take feature, users can capture up to ten seconds of footage with a wide range of capture modes, including Live Focus, Smart Crop, video and AI filter. Users can then revisit the clips in the Gallery app and choose which capture style they like the best.
Galaxy A51 and A71 users can now also enjoy several Pro Mode functionalities from the Galaxy S20, including Manual Focus and Shutter Speed control. These features give users more control when capturing photos and videos so they can have total command over their shooting experiences.
Users can get creative when capturing after sunset with Night Hyperlapse, and enjoy more personalization with features like My Filters, which lets users create their own personal image filters using existing images in their camera roll.

Share Seamlessly

The software update brings with it two convenient ways – available originally on the Galaxy S20 series – for users to share media with each other. Quick Share and Music Share make it easier than ever before to stay connected and instantaneously share pictures, videos and music.
When viewing media in the Gallery and looking to share it with friends, users can now harness the Quick Share option to see immediately which users are nearby. Just by tapping the icon, users can then select one or more friends to seamlessly share their media with.
Music Share lets friends connect to a user’s Bluetooth speaker directly via the user’s smartphone. By swiping down on the Quick Panel and tapping on the Music Share icon, users can easily activate or deactivate this innovative feature to instantly enjoy good music with their friends. Users can also head to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > Advanced to toggle Music Share on or off.

Let Your Device Do the Work

Galaxy A51 and A71 users are already able to do more of what they love with their smartphones, but this update brings even more Keyboard and Gallery functionalities to users that are designed to make their day-to-day interactions with their smartphones as convenient as possible.
When typing in the search bar in the app tray, accessible with just a simple swipe up on the home screen, users will now be presented with a range of predicted Apps, Settings, Quick Panel and Contacts search results before they even finish typing their query, and can then explore even more results by hitting the ‘See more results’ button. Enhanced keyboard functionalities also give users more freedom when typing; users can now translate text directly from the keyboard tray and easily undo and redo their most recent keyboard action with an intuitive swipe left or right with two fingers on the keyboard.
With the Clean View feature, the Gallery will group up to 100 images shot consecutively into one bundle for easy viewing – users can choose their favorite to serve as the group’s thumbnail – and an organized Gallery. Quick Crop lets users trim their photos right from the media viewing screen. When zooming in on an image with two fingers, the icon will appear on the left hand side of the screen for users to instantly save the edited picture to their Gallery.

Updates such as these, bringing flagship features to Galaxy A devices, are part of Samsung’s ongoing efforts to provide all users with the the best smartphone experiences. В 3-м квартале 2019 года Европа показала самые высокие темпы роста среди региональных рынков смартфонов, сообщает аналитическая фирма Canalys. Согласно её данным, поставки устройств в регион увеличились на 8% в годовом исчислении и достигли 52,5 миллиона штук.
Европа опередила не только глобальный рынок в целом, где специалисты ранее зафиксировали прибавку на 1%, но и динамичный Азиатско-Тихоокеанский регион, поставки смартфонов на который поднялись на 6%.
Кроме того, нынешний результат Европы в июле-сентябре стал лучшим достижением региона в 3-м квартале за всю историю наблюдений Canalys. Аналитики добавили, что во многом это заслуга техногиганта Samsung, который сохраняет уверенные позиции на европейских рынках смартфонов.
В минувшем квартале поставки девайсов Samsung в Европу увеличились на 26% и достигли 18,7 миллиона штук, что стало региональным рекордом для корпорации. С учётом этого доля южнокорейского брэнда в рассматриваемый период поднялась с 30,4% до 35,7%.
Huawei сохранила за собой 2-е место, отгрузив 11,6 миллиона устройств. Результат оказался на 73% выше, чем в предыдущей четверти, когда поставки у китайцев просели до 8,5 миллиона штук на фоне объявленных США санкций. В годовом исчислении зарегистрирован нулевой рост.
Тем не менее, аналитики считают, что худший период для китайского вендора на европейском рынке ещё не миновал. Поставки смартфонов Huawei в Западную Европу уменьшились на 17% по сравнению с июлем-сентябрём 2018-го, хотя в менее богатой Центральной и Восточной Европе в тот же период отмечен рост на 26%.
Apple, которая замкнула тройку лидеров, поставила в Европу 9,8 миллиона iPhone. Это соответствует доле 18,6%. По сравнению с прошлогодними цифрами отгрузки сократились на 4%, а доля - на 0,4%.
Между тем, пользуясь ослаблением Huawei, другие китайские вендоры активизировали свои усилия на европейском направлении. Так, в 3-м квартале Xiaomi нарастила поставки дешёвых смартфонов в этот регион на 73%, до 5,5 миллиона штук. В итоге рыночная доля брэнда поднялась до 10,5%, тогда как годом ранее она была на уровне 6,5%.
Специалисты полагают, что примеру Xiaomi последуют Oppo, Oneplus, Realme и Vivo. Ожидается, что они увеличат затраты на повышение узнаваемости своих брэндов в Европе и расширят местные торговые представительства. Учитывая столь большое число новых игроков, ожидается заметный рост активности на европейских рынках смартфонов в 2020 году. Также подъёму будет способствовать развёртывание в регионе сетей 5G, считают аналитики.

European smartphone shipments grew in Q3, driven by Samsung

Europe bucked global smartphone stagnation in the third quarter, marking an 8% year over year growth in device shipments. That number, provided by Canalys, puts the region at the top of smartphone growth figures, beating out Asia/Pacific’s six percent.
Once again, Samsung was the biggest winner here. The Korean manufacturer saw a healthy 26%, year over year growth. As noted back in Q2, Samsung’s growth comes as the company floods the market with a variety of different devices. Its mid-tier A Series accounted for all four of its top spots during that time period.
Huawei held steady in second place, as the company refocuses on Europe amid US/China trade tensions. Huawei accounted for 22.2 % of units shipped, versus Samsung’s 35.7%. Fellow Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi saw an extremely healthy boost for the quarter, jumping 73 percent for the year, to nab fourth place behind Apple.
While the numbers are positive in the face of larger negative trends, politics are still having a marked impact on figures.
“On the negative side, Brexit has already had an impact,” analyst Ben Stanton said in a release. “In the UK, shipments of premium devices from Samsung and Apple accelerated before each Brexit deadline this year, in March and recently October, followed by a large dip, as distributors were forced to stockpile product and hedge against impending tariff risk. This shot-term artificial boost distorts the market and the accompanying risk, costs and uncertainty, is a drain on the industry.”
Like much of the rest of the world, the European market is looking forward to a 5G rollout to help further juice shipments moving forward.

В то же время более интересная и продвинутся модель Galaxy A50s, судя по всему, не появится в РФ в обозримой перспективе или не появится вовсе. В отличие от младшего собрата, A50s получит более совершенную камеру, Super AMOLED-дисплей с лучшим разрешением, больший объём ОЗУ, а также интеллектуальный голосовой помощник Bixby. Судя по всму, на российском рынке Samsung не хочет создавать ситуацию, когда "предфлагман" Galaxy A70 получит более доступного по цене и близкого по характеристикам конкурента.

Подразделение Samsung Mobile выпустило бесплатное приложение для своих Android-смартфонов, которое призвано заменить Opera Max.
Напомним, что Opera Max — это Android-приложение, с помощью которого можно было экономить мобильный трафик при просмотре онлайн-видео, изображений, веб-страниц и при прослушивании музыки из Сети. Дебют Opera Max состоялся в 2014 году, а к концу 2016-го число активных пользователей сервиса достигло 50 миллионов в месяц.
Новое программное расширение Samsung Max и пришло на замену Opera Max, поскольку последнее больше не поддерживается командой разработчиков и изъято из магазина Google Play. Своё решение разработчики Opera объяснили тем, что приложение Opera Max сильно отличается от других продуктов компании. Однако специалисты говорят, что причина вовсе не этом. Как известно, норвежская разработка Opera относительно недавно была приобретена китайцами, которые хотят полностью контролировать интернет-трафик по цензурным соображениям (в первую очередь на территории самой КНР). Opera Max позволяла избежать цензурных барьеров и беспрепятственно просматривать запрещённые сайты. Именно это и не нравилось новым китайским владельцам (равно как и их "коллегам" из Роскомнадзора).
Но теперь у Opera Max появилась альтернатива в виде Samsung Max. Это приложение помогает экономить мобильный трафик, а также обеспечивает безопасность Wi-Fi-соединений и позволяет контролировать приватность.
Подобное решение уже давно применяется южнокорейским техногигантом в смартфонах серии Samsung Z, работающих на операционной системе TIZEN, и вот теперь оно стало доступно для Android-девайсов.
Владельцы смартфонов Samsung могут загрузить приложение из магазина Google Palay. В некоторых регионах мира программа будет поставляться "из коробки" с аппаратами серий Galaxy A и Galaxy J.

Samsung Launches Samsung Max, a Unique Android Application Offering Mobile Data Saving Mode and Privacy Protection Mode

With Samsung Max, users can take control of their data usage and benefit from enhanced privacy features for free

Samsung Electronics, today introduced Samsung Max, a new and free Android application designed to promote mobile data savings and application privacy management, with data usage monitoring and enhanced Wi-Fi security. Starting on February 23th, 2018, the application will be available for download on Google Play on select Samsung Galaxy devices. Samsung Max supports the latest iteration of Samsung’s unique and easy-to-use features, ‘Data Saving Mode’ and ‘Privacy Protection.’ Samsung Max is replacing Opera Max – one of the largest mobile virtual private networks (VPNs) in the world – and now, its two key features are accessible to millions of more Samsung users.
“All over the world, data has become a commodity, but many plans are simply still too expensive for consumers that want to get the most out of the latest technology built into their devices,” said Seounghoon Oh, Vice President Samsung R&D Institute India. “With Samsung Max, our users in every corner of the globe now have increased autonomy and control over their data usage and privacy in an era of rising security threats, fraudulent apps and user profiling.”
Samsung Max builds upon popular features from Samsung’s “Make for India” initiative, designed to provide locally relevant and beneficial software and hardware. Key features include:

* Data Saving Mode – Data Saving Mode makes your data plan work harder and go further. In some cases, it can even be used to help you save money on your mobile data plan over time. The feature offers smart advice on which applications are consuming the most data, and constantly scans for data saving opportunities. When possible, it can even actively compress images, videos, music files, and webpages in your apps and browser. Users can also manage data permissions for specific apps and enjoy peace of mind with automatic background data usage blocked for all apps, tailoring data consumption to meet each user’s needs.

These three features also offer privacy benefits on mobile networks, which enables Samsung Max to offer privacy protection on Mobile or Wi-Fi across all of your apps.
