Старшая модификация спортивного трэкера Samsung Galaxy Fit выходит на рынки Европы и Японии

Ранее в этом месяце увидел свет новый фитнес-трэкер Galaxy Fitⓔ, а теперь Samsung запускает его старшую модификацию Samsung Galaxy Fit.
С сегодняшнего дня устройство уже доступно в Испании, Италии, Южной Корее и Нидерландах, а 13 июня появится на японском рынке.
Новый Galaxy Fit поставляется с цветным однодюймовым AMOLED-дисплеем и доступен в двух цветах: чёрный и серебристый.
Гаджет имеет защиту от воды (до 5 атмосфер) и встроенный набор функций для отслеживания фитнеса. Настройки осуществляются с синхронизированного смартфона. Розничная цена в Европе составляет 99 евро.
Появление этого устройства на российском рынке ожидается в первых числах июня.

New Samsung Galaxy Fit fitness tracker launched

Earlier this month we saw the new Galaxy Fitⓔ and now Samsung has launched another fitness tracker, the Samsung Galaxy Fit.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit has launched in Spain, Italy, South Korea and the Netherlands from today, the device will also launch in Russia on the 3 June, and in Japan on the 13th of June.
The new Galaxy Fit comes with a 0.95 inch color AMOLED display and the device will be available in a choice of two different colors, black and silver.
It is waterproof up to 5 ATM and it comes with a range of fitness tracking features built in, it retails for €99 in Europe.

В распоряжении редакции профильного ресурса SamMobile оказалась информация, связанная с разработкой нового носимого устройства Samsung на операционной платформе TIZEN. Модель с маркировкой SM-R500 получила кодовое название Pulse. Судя по всему, этот девайс в большей степени будет ориентироваться на спортсменов и любителей фитнеса.
Согласно классификации, Pulse является менее сложным устройством, чем актуальные флагманские модели Galaxy Watch. Скорее всего это будет следующее поколение часов Samsung Gear Sport (теперь уже под брэндом Galaxy) или продолжение линейки фитнес-трэкеров Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro (также под брэндом Galaxy).
Начальная версия программного обеспечения у будущей новинки - R500XXE0ARL5.
Предполагается, что этот гаджет получит расширенную поддержку интеллектуального помощника Bixby, включая систему уведомлений о входящих сообщениях Bixby Reminder. Samsung is developing a new TIZEN-powered device, code-named Pulse

At the disposal of the editorial board of SamMobile's profile resource, there appeared information related to the development of a new Samsung wearable device on the TIZEN operating platform. The model marked SM-R500 was code-named Pulse. Apparently, this device will be more focused on athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
According to the classification, Pulse is a less complex device than the current flagship models of the Galaxy Watch. Most likely it will be the next generation of Samsung Gear Sport watches (now under the Galaxy brand) or the continuation of the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro line of fitness trackers (also under the Galaxy brand).
The initial software version of the future device is R500XXE0ARL5. It is assumed that this gadget will receive enhanced support for intelligent assistant Bixby, including the system of notifications about incoming messages Bixby Reminder. At the same time, due to the lower class of the device, it will be deprived of the built-in LTE module and will not be able to fully replace the smartphone, such as the most advanced version of the Galaxy Watch LTE smartwatch.
The date of the appearance of the new device on sale is still unknown.

В США уже начались продажи новых TIZEN-часов Samsung Galaxy Watch с поддержкой LTE

Вопреки информации некоторых СМИ о том, что самые продвинутые модификации новейших смарт-часов Samsung Galaxy Watch появятся в продаже лишь в ноябре,  американский сегмент youtube уже сегодня переполнен видео с распаковкой LTE-версий этого носимого девайса. Оператор T-Mobile уже разослал первые партии TIZEN-часов тем, кто сделал предварительный заказ.
Наши редакторы провели несколько часов за внимательным просмотром отзывов счастливых владельцев "электронного хронометра" и могут констатировать, что первые впечатления пользователей от новинки более чем положительные.
Несмотря на то, что внешне прежнее поколение Gear S3 Frontier не слишком отличается от 46-мм версии Galaxy Watch (которые после ребрендинга утратили первоначально запланированное название Gear S4), аппаратная и программная часть нового устройства претерпели значительные изменения.
Прежде всего это касается усовершенствования аппаратной платформы, которая получила более мощный и экономичный процессор, увеличенный объём оперативной памяти (1,5Гб против прежних 768Мб), а также гораздо более ёмкий аккумулятор. Это позволило увеличить время непрерывной работы без подзарядки до 3-4 дней при стандартном использовании и до 7 дней в так называемом "щадящем" режиме. Если же гаджет перевести в режим "только часы", то он проживёт не менее 30 дней без подзарядки.
Наряду с "железом" сильно изменилась и программная часть на базе новой версии операционной системы TIZEN 4.0. К моменту выхода Galaxy Watch производитель обновил приложения для синхронизации часов со смартфонами (поддерживаются почти все актуальные аппараты на Android и iOS, а само приложение теперь называется Galaxy Wearable), а также также существенно расширил возможности мониторинга физической активности с помощью фирменных облачных сервисов.
Комбинированный сенсор, расположенный на тыльной стороне часов, также был подвергнут усовершенствованию и теперь позволяет производить замер частоты сердцебиения и другие физические параметры владельца гораздо точнее.
Ещё одно важное отличие от Gear S3: теперь Galaxy Watch могут использовать пловцы, что расширяет сферу применения девайса среди любителей фитнеса и профессиональных спортсменов.
Не забыты и те, кто далёк от спорта, но нуждается в быстром получении информации и деловых коммуникациях. Здесь также произошли значительные улучшения: прежний голосовой помощник S-Voice заменён на гораздо более продвинутый Bixby (пока он поддерживает несколько языков, но русский в это число не входит), расширен доступ к получению новостоной информации от ведущих агентств и финансовых организаций, упрощён интернет-сёрфинг, приём электронной почты, SMS и т.д.
Благодаря наличию встроенного LTE-модуля самые продвинутые модификации Samsung Galaxy Watch (цена - около $400) фактически позволяют владельцам гаджета избавиться от громоздкой трубки в кармане. Часы обеспечат GPS-навигацию, интернет-услуги и прочие удовольствия (например, подключение к потоковому музыкальному сервису Spotify) не хуже любого смартфона.
Благодаря наличию громкой связи вы можете лекго общаться по телефону, а если вас беспокоит приватность разговора, то его можно вести и с помощью беспроводных наушников, подключив их по Bluetooth-каналу. Также важной особенностью новинки является возможность контроля и управления "умным домом" Samsung Smart Things непосредственно с запястья. Никто из конкурентов на рынке носимых устройств не может похвастать такой степенью интеграции в экосистему Интернета вещей (IoT).  
Единственной "ложкой дёгтя в бочке мёда" можно считать отсутствие в Galaxy Watch полноценного модуля поддержки сервиса мобильных платежей Samsung Pay (как и в прошлой "компромиссной" модели Gear Sport). Здесь он ограничен только NFC, в то время как более древняя модель Gear S3 имеет комбинированный модуль MST+NFC, что выгодно отличает этот девайс от конкурентов типа Apple Watch и решений на базе Android Wear (ныне Wear OS).
Поэтому тем, для кого наличие полноценного Samsung Pay принципиально важно, следует всё же обратить внимание на серию Gear S3 Frontier и Gear S3 Classic, тем более что в связи с обновлением модельного ряда смарт-часов Samsung гаджеты S3 наверняка подешевеют.
В заключение напомним, что LTE-версия Samsung Galaxy Watch в настоящее время актуальна только для 20 развитых стран, где операторы поддерживают работу с технологией eSIM (электронная виртуальная SIM-карта, позволяющая свободно менять провайдера мобильной связи путём простой смены цифрового кода). В России ни один оператор до сих пор не поддерживают такую технологию. Эксперты говорят, что внедрение eSIM искусственно тормозится различными госслужбами РФ (прежде всего ФСБ), которые опасаются утраты эффективного контроля за гражданами.
Обычная Bluetooth-версия Samsung Galaxy Watch (с меньшим объёмом ОЗУ), которая поступит в российскую розницу, стоит примерно на 50 долларов дешевле, чем версия со встроенным LTE-модулем и eSIM.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Hands-On: Fashion Meets Fitness

The new Galaxy smartwatch from Samsung is a stylish device that offers a range of features including voice assistance from Bixby and fitness features for better health.

There are four key features that make Samsung's new Galaxy Watch a necessity for business professionals, or anyone who wants an affordable smartwatch.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch at Samsung Unpacked in Brooklyn, NY earlier this month, when it also debuted the new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone. The Galaxy Watch is an all-purpose device designed to do everything from work with corporate wellness programs to tracking fitness and sending notifications.
I've spent two days with the Galaxy Watch, and I'm impressed with it. I've tested numerous features, and even slept with it on.
The classic watch design is appealing, with a rotating bezel, an AMOLED touchscreen display and interchangeable straps. It conveniently charges wirelessly, there are built-in sensors for fitness tracking, and there's NFC for mobile payments. It runs on Samsung's Tizen OS and uses Knox for its security to secure the data on the device and how the smartwatches are managed with an EMM partner.
It looks good on my wrist, and it feels good. I like all of the features that it offers, and the price is right, starting at just $329.99.
But here are four overall features that I find most appealing about the watch.

Detailed health and fitness tracking

In additional to basic step counts, the Galaxy Watch automatically tracks more than 39 different workouts and has GPS for your daily run. It knows the difference between a yoga workout, and planking or weight lifting. Those extra burpees you do at the gym will show up on your fitness tally for the day.
It also measures and monitors your stress level, and offers breathing exercises for relaxation and calming.
Sleep tracking is also included, which is pretty much a given for any smartwatch these days.

Stylish appearance and comfortable fit

This watch looks good on your wrist. It comes in two sizes, 42mm or 46mm. I have a thin wrist, and the 42mm size isn't too bulky for me. I wore it to track my sleep, and didn't even notice I had it on. The basic watch strap that comes with it at no additional charge is comfortable, and surprisingly soft for a rubber strap. There are other options available, of course, for a $39.99 upcharge.
There are two sizes — 42mm and 46 mm — and three colors. It comes in rose gold, silver and midnight black.
There are also more than 60,000 different watch faces to choose from in the Galaxy App store. Many are free, and others range from 99 cents to $2.99.

Notifications and ease of use

The notifications features are pretty convenient. You can use the watch to make and take calls with an integrated speaker and voice microphone, or respond to texts and listen to your voicemail.
To use the watch's features, you can rotate the bezel rotates right or left and then select an app and navigate screens. Or you can swipe the screen to view notifications and widgets. If you place your hand over the watch face and touch it, it will immediately put it to sleep.
The AMOLED display is easy to read, and it was easy for me to read the latest CBS news, or anything else, as I scrolled through the Flipboard app.
If you misplace your watch, you can use the Galaxy Wearable app to find it. I tried this feature and it was easy to use. I've lost other watches in the past, so this is invaluable if you also have a cat that likes to play with your jewelry and watches and knock them under furniture.

Battery life and durability

The Galaxy Watch 42mm version I tested has a battery that lasted me for two full days before I had to recharge it. The 46mm has an even larger battery and can go additional hours, according to Samsung. You can opt for an "always on" feature that will eat up the battery life faster, but will always have the time visible in a basic black and white display.
The watch is water resistant enough to take it for a swim, and it has Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ to prevent the display from getting scratched.

How to buy it

Overall, the Galaxy Watch is a serious contender in the smartwatch market and the price is reasonable starting at $329.99 for the Bluetooth version. The LTE version is $50 more at $379.99.
The Galaxy Watch is available beginning today. The Bluetooth version is available online through Samsung, Best Buy and Amazon, and the LTE version is available from Best Buy and T-Mobile, with other carriers to soon follow.

That’s the idea behind the “Ask an Expert” service in the Samsung Health app, where users can access two convenient telehealth services. “Symptom Checker” makes it easy to learn more about what your symptoms might mean and with “Online Doctor Visits” you can consult with a doctor on your smartphone, anytime, anywhere, 24/7.
The Ask an Expert services are also HIPAA-compliant, so you can get information and talk with your doctor in confidence, knowing that your privacy is protected. Here’s how to make the most of these services, available under the “Experts” tab in the Samsung Health app.

How to Schedule an Appointment with the Next Available Doctor

With Online Doctor Visits, you can schedule an appointment to consult with certified physicians right from your smartphone and choose to speak with the first available provider or select a provider that you already know and schedule a time that works best for you.
The Online Doctor Visits feature of Samsung Health gives you options. If you’d like to discuss your symptoms right away, choose urgent care. If you have a more specific condition, you can schedule an appointment with a specialist.
From there, you can either choose to see the next available clinician, or quickly scroll through a list of clinicians. Samsung Health makes it easy to see their rating out of five stars (an average of ratings given by patients like you), how much the visit will cost, and a range of other details – from the languages they speak to where they went to medical school.

Preparing for Your Virtual Doctor Visit

If necessary, before your visit, Samsung Health will prompt you to review your patient information, so you can confirm any allergies to medications, current medications, and diagnosed medical conditions. You can also add your nearest pharmacy, so your clinician will know where to have prescriptions filled.
By including a few details of what you’d like to discuss during your visit, your clinician will be able to start the conversation with a sense of how to make the most of your time together. You can select common symptoms from a list, type in details, and even add photos.
