Согласно анализу программного кода, подготовленного для обновления операционной системы до версии TIZEN 5.5, Samsung готовит к международному запуску такие давно ожидаемые функции, как мониторинг артериального давления, ЭКГ, обнаружение падения при потере сознания или сердечном приступе, рассылка тревожного сообщения SOS с отображением точных координат ЧП по заранее определённым номерам абонентов, расширение возможностей интеллектуального голосового помощника Bixby (для отдельных стран) и некоторые другие.
Некоторые из перечисленных функций станут также доступны обладателям более ранних моделей смарт-часов Samsung, работающих на TIZEN OS.

As expected, following the launch of the flagship Galaxy Watch 3 series of wearables, most of the premium features will now be available to owners of last year's Galaxy Watch Active2, which are very close in specifications.
According to the analysis of the program code prepared for the update of the operating system to the TIZEN 5.5 version, Samsung is preparing for the international launch such long-awaited functions as blood pressure monitoring, ECG, fall detection in case of loss of consciousness or heart attack, sending out an SOS alarm message with displaying the exact coordinates of the emergency by pre-defined subscriber numbers, expanding the capabilities of the intelligent voice assistant Bixby (for certain countries) and some others.
Some of the listed functions will also become available to owners of earlier Samsung smartwatches running on TIZEN OS.
Of course, along with the upgrade, another patch will be released to improve security and optimize the operation of the hardware-software platform.

Недавно они провели экспертизу новейших устройств от Samsung, которые были представлены в начале этого месяца в рамках мероприятия Galaxy Unpacked 2020. В частности, инженеры провели разборку носимых TIZEN-гаджетов Galaxy Buds Live и Galaxy Watch 3. Как оказалось, в отличие от многих конкурентов, показатель их ремонтопригодности находится на высоком уровне.
Например, в отличие от беспроводных наушников Apple AirPods Pro, Galaxy Buds Live разбираются намного проще. Благодаря тому, что в конструкции используется батарея стандартного размера, заменить её достаточно легко. Внутри этих смарт-часов нет переплетающихся кабелей и хрупких коннекторов. Можно легко получить доступ к аккумуляторной батарее и дисплею. Кроме того, большинство компонентов являются модульными.
К минусам конструкции можно отнести частичное применение проприетарного крепежа и невозможность замены стекла без замены экрана, так как оба этих компонента совмещены.

IFixit experts praised the maintainability of Samsung wearables

The iFixit technoportal team has long been known for their professional reviews on assessing the maintainability level of various electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and so on. They recently reviewed the latest devices from Samsung, which were unveiled earlier this month at Galaxy Unpacked 2020. In particular, the engineers disassembled the Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Watch 3 wearable TIZEN-powered gadgets. As it turned out, unlike many competitors, their maintainability indicator is at a high level.
For example, unlike Apple AirPods Pro wireless earbuds, Galaxy Buds Live is much easier to disassemble. Due to the fact that the design uses a battery of a standard size, it is quite easy to replace it. This is a 3.7V lithium battery CP1254, which, according to iFixit, is not hard to find on the internet.
Disassembling the headphone case revealed that it has an integrated 1.81 Wh battery, which is significantly more than the battery capacity used in previous Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds Plus cases. As for the operating time of the device without recharging, experts have confirmed compliance with the manufacturer's declared 29 hours of battery life.
As a result, the maintainability of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live was rated 8 out of 10. This is not surprising, since even the older Galaxy Buds series are considered to be among the best in the global market in terms of maintainability.
Then, iFixit specialists began to dismantle the potential hit of the coming fall-winter season, namely the Galaxy Watch 3.  Here the situation was very similar.
Recall that the gadget is available in two sizes - with a round dial with a diagonal of 1.4 "(34 mm) and 1.2" (30 mm).The Super AMOLED display can run continuously and is protected from damage by Corning Gorilla Glass DX. The device is equipped with an Exynos 9110 dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, an 8 GB flash module, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n adapters, an NFC controller, a GPS/GLONASS/Beidou receiver.The set of sensors includes an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a barometer, a heart rate sensor with eight photodiodes and a function for measuring the volume of consumed oxygen, as well as an ambient light sensor.
During the disassembly process, it turned out that the watch has very good maintainability - 7 points out of 10 possible on the iFixit scale. This means that the device will not create serious problems for service center employees. There are no intertwining cables or fragile connectors inside this smartwatch. The battery and display can be easily accessed. In addition, most of the components are modular.
The disadvantages of the design include the partial use of proprietary fasteners and the impossibility of replacing glass without replacing the screen, since both of these components are combined.

Вчера наш информационный блог вёл прямую онлайн-трансляцию из главного офиса техногиганта Samsung в Сувоне. Samsung Digital City расположен в 40-ка километрах к югу от Сеула, столицы Южной Кореи. Именно на территории огромного административно-технического комплекса, принадлежащего крупнейшему поставщику электроники, была построена специальная телестудия, откуда осуществлялось вещание на весь мир.

The first ever Samsung's global online presentation of flagship mobile devices took place

Yesterday, our information blog was livestreaming from tech giant Samsung headquarters in Suwon. Samsung Digital City is located 40 kilometers south of Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Samsung has released the first official teaser for the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 online presentation event

Всё больше рендеров новейших смарт-часов от Samsung появляется на просторах Сети. Очередной слив в твиттер-ленте Эвана Бласса (@evleaks) позволяет рассмотреть новинку во всех деталях.
Galaxy Watch 3, согласно имеющимся данным, получат 1,2" и 1,4" OLED-дисплеи для версий 41 и 45 мм соответственно, 1Гб ОЗУ, 8 Гб ПЗУ, модуль NFC, водозащиту, хороший уровень автономной работы и классический дизайн. Корпуса этих носимых устройств будут выполнены из нержавеющей стали и титанового сплава, а экран защищён стеклом Corning Gorilla DX.
Судя по обновлённому программному интерфейсу, гаджеты получат новейшую версию операционной системы TIZEN 5.5, которая должна обеспечить лучшую автономность и расширенный набор функций.
Предполагается, что также будут доступны версии со встроенным модулем LTE/4G, что обеспечит работу часов в полностью автономном режиме, без синхронизации со смартфоном. Не исключено, что в этих моделях будет установлено 1,5Гб ОЗУ. 
Помимо традиционного отслеживания физической активности и замера пульса, Galaxy Watch 3 получат возможность мониторинга кровяного давления и ЭКГ. Это особенно важно для людей, испытывающих проблемы с сердечно-сосудистой системой. Кроме того, часы поддерживают фирменный сервис бесконтактных мобильных платежей Samsung Pay.
Напомним, что первыми устройствами Samsung, поддерживающими все указанные выше опции, стали актуальные модели серии Galaxy Watch Active2, поступившие в продажу осенью 2019 года. 
Грядущие Galaxy Watch 3 (модельные номера SM-R840, SM-R845F, SM-R755F, SMR850F), помимо улучшенных технических характеристик, получат 3 цветовых варианта: чёрный, серебристый и медный. На рендерах хорошо просматривается дизайн с круглым дисплеем и двумя навигационными кнопками, а также новые варианты фирменных циферблатов.
Презентация новинок ожидается в следующем месяце (ориентировочно 22 июля). Тогда же должны быть представлены новые беспроводные наушники Galaxy Buds и топовый планшет Galaxy Tab S7.

Galaxy Watch 3, according to available data, will receive 1.2 "and 1.4" OLED displays for 41 and 45 mm versions, respectively, 1GB of RAM, 8GB ROM, NFC module, water resistance, good battery life and classic design. The cases of these wearable gadgets will be made of stainless steel and a titanium alloy, and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla DX glass.
Judging by the updated software interface, gadgets will receive the latest version of the TIZEN 5.5 operating system, which should provide better autonomy and an expanded set of functions.
It is assumed that versions with a built-in LTE/4G module will also be available, which will ensure that the watch works in a fully autonomous mode, without synchronization with a smartphone. It is possible that in these models 1.5 GB of RAM will be installed.
In addition to the traditional tracking of physical activity and heart rate, Galaxy Watch 3 will be able to monitor blood pressure and ECG. This is especially important for people with problems with the cardiovascular system. In addition, the watch supports Samsung Pay, a proprietary contactless mobile payment service.
Recall that the first Samsung devices that support all of the above options were the current models of the Galaxy Watch Active2 series, which went on sale in the fall of 2019.
The upcoming Galaxy Watch 3 (model numbers SM-R840, SM-R845F, SM-R755F, SMR850F), in addition to improved technical specifications, will receive 3 color options: black, silver and copper. The renders clearly show the design with a round display and two navigation buttons, as well the new branded dials.
