Смарт-телевизоры Samsung на TIZEN OS получили обновлённое приложение Яндекс гораздо раньше конкурентов

На смарт-телевизорах Samsung, использующих операционную систему TIZEN, вышло обновлённое приложение Яндекс, которое предоставляет удобный и персонализированный доступ к видеоконтенту. Приложение появилось в Samsung Smart TV на несколько месяцев раньше, чем на других ТВ-платформах.
В приложении Яндекс можно смотреть телеканалы, трансляции интересных событий, фильмы, мультфильмы и сериалы из онлайн-кинотеатров в UHD-качестве, а также контент на популярных видеохостингах. Рекомендации обновляются с учётом истории просмотров и популярных запросов пользователя, подстраиваясь под индивидуальные предпочтения и интересы.
Для маленьких зрителей в приложении предусмотрен детский режим с автоматической фильтрацией. Она исключает из поиска видеоконтент «для взрослых» и ролики для детей старше 12 лет, коммерческие видеобзоры игрушек и копии популярных мультфильмов. В этом разделе можно найти самые интересные и качественные ролики для детей: мультфильмы, сериалы, познавательные программы, развивающие видео и уроки для изучения английского языка.
В приложении Яндекс представлен только тот контент, который размещён на видеоресурсах бесплатно. Премьерные фильмы и сериалы доступны в приложении Кинопоиск для телевизоров Samsung Smart TV — по подписке Яндекс.Плюс за 169 рублей в месяц.
Приложение Яндекс можно установить на телевизоры Samsung 2016-2018 года выпуска.

Samsung Smart TVs on TIZEN OS received an updated Yandex application much earlier than its competitors

Samsung smart TVs using the TIZEN operating system have released an updated Yandex application that provides convenient and personalized access to video content. The application appeared in Samsung Smart TV a few months earlier than on other TV platforms.
In the Yandex application, you can watch TV channels, broadcasts of interesting events, movies, cartoons and TV shows from online cinemas in UHD-quality, as well as content on popular video hosting sites. Recommendations are updated taking into account the history of views and popular user requests, adapting to individual preferences and interests.
For young viewers, the application provides a children's mode with automatic filtering. It excludes from the search video content “for adults” and videos for children over 12, commercial video reviews of toys and copies of popular cartoons. In this section you can find the most interesting and high-quality videos for children: cartoons, series, educational programs, educational videos and lessons for learning English.
In the Yandex application, only the content that is available on video resources for free is presented. Premiere films and TV shows are available in the Kinopoisk application for Samsung Smart TV TVs - by Yandex+ subscription for 169 rubles ($2,5) a month.
The Yandex application can be installed on Samsung TVs of 2016-2018 release.

Samsung выпустил на южнокорейский рынок версию TIZEN-часов Galaxy Watch для гольфистов

Samsung выводит на южнокорейский рынок специальную версию умных смарт-часов Galaxy Watch, предназначенную для игроков в гольф. Соответственно, этот носимый гаджет, работающий на самой новой версии операционной системы TIZEN 4.0, получил название Galaxy Watch Golf Edition. Единственным отличием от базовой модели является наличие специального приложения для гольфистов Smart Caddie. Оно разработано в кооперации с командой GolfzonDeca.  
Это ПО должно помочь игроку, так как позволяет отслеживать количество ударов, направление в котором находится лунка, расстояние до неё, а также сохраняя результаты хода состязания. Smart Caddie содержит информацию о 60.000 полей для игры в гольф.
По заявлению производителя, автономность работы при самом активном использовании часов Galaxy Watch Golf Edition позволит осуществить мониторинг в течение 3-х раундов в гольф (54 лунки). Цена большой 46-миллиметровой модели составляет примерно $410, а малая 42-миллиметровая версия оценена в $350.
Нынешние Galaxy Watch Golf Edition не являются эксклюзивом, поскольку ранее Samsung уже выпускал аналогичный девайс на базе предыдущей модели смарт-часов Gear S3.
Будут ли доступны "гольф-версии" за пределами Южной Кореи, пока неизвестно.

Samsung releases smartwatch for golfers

Samsung has launched a new smartwatch designed specifically for golfers, the Galaxy Watch Golf Edition. The watch itself is the same as the Galaxy Watch; the big difference lies in the software, which includes a Smart Caddie app to help golfers keep track of their record and shots, learn about the green, and more.
The TIZEN-powered Galaxy Watch Golf Edition packs information on approximately 60,000 golf courses, according to Samsung, offering details like distance and green height. As mentioned, the watch can track the number of shots, that enabling the creation of a personal “Yardage Book” with historical game information.
Users can access that digital book using their smartphone or online, as well, making it easier to check out stats after the game ends. This isn’t the first time Samsung has offered a smartwatch for golfers — it previously launched a similar variant for its Gear S3 model.
As for the watch itself, everything remains the same as with the regular Galaxy Watch. Samsung claims this model’s battery can power the device across 54 holes and three rounds a day. Users can get the Golf Edition variant in 42mm Midnight Black and 46mm Silver color and size options.
The 46-mm edition will be sold at 409,700 won (US$367), with the price tag on the 42-mm version set at 389,900 won.
The model is only available in South Korea, unfortunately.

Южноафриканские владельцы TIZEN-смартфонов получили новостное приложение BRIEFLY

Новое приложение для TIZEN-смартфонов серии Samsung Z под названием BRIEFLY даёт возможность быстро ознакомиться с важнейшими новостями ЮАР и других стран мира. В южноафриканском сегменте магазина TIZEN Store не так много приложений, созданных специально для жителей этой страны, поэтому каждый оригинальный продукт от местных разработчиков вызывает живой интерес у пользователей. ЮАР является третьей страной по количеству владельцев смартфонов на операционной системе TIZEN после Индии и Индонезии. Ресурс TIZENhelp сообщает, что последняя модель Samsung Z4 пользуется в богатейшей стране африканского континента повышенным спросом, поэтому наличие достаточно количества приложений, адаптированных под местные запросы, особенно важно для поддержания этой мобильной ОС, которая на сегодняшний день является единственной реальной альтернативой дуополии Android и iOS.

Большую же часть библиотеки приложений в TIZEN Store составляют продукты, созданные индийскими разработчиками, что неудивительно.
На сегодняшний день агрегатор BRIEFLY обладает одним из самых высоких рейтингов среди оригинальных TIZEN-приложений, набрав 4,5 балла согласно отзывам пользователей. Новостная лента содержит обширный набор информационных материалов от надёжных источников и предлагает свежие новости из мира политики, бизнеса, культуры, технологий и спорта.     

SOUTH AFRICA NEWS APP BRIEFLY LAUNCHED IN TIZEN STORE

The new South Africa News app Briefly will provide all breaking news from the country and across the world. In the TIZEN Store there are very few apps made for South African users and this new one is surely good for customers. After India & Indonesia, South Africa is the largest country for TIZEN platform. In the country Samsung has sold many TIZEN smartphones & the new Samsung Z4 is doing good business in the South Africa & its continent. Приложение Samsung Music будет доступно на TIZEN-телевизорах

Представители Samsung Electronics Co. заявили сегодня, что фирменное музыкальное приложение Samsung Music, доступное только на смартфонах серии Galaxy и TIZEN-смартфонах серии Samsung Z, также появится в каталоге дополнительных программных продуктов для телевизоров, работающих на операционной системе TIZEN. Информационное агентство Yonhap сообщает, что эта опция будет доступна уже в конце текущего месяца (по крайней мере для жителей Южной Кореи).
Samsung Music можно будет установить на любом смарт-телевизоре Samsung, выпущенном после 2016 года. В настоящее время смарт-телевизоры Samsung уже поддерживают различные музыкальные сервисы, включая Melon, Bugs и Spotify.
Пользователям телевизоров Samsung будут предоставлены услуги потоковой передачи музыки непосредственно с серверов Samsung. Загрузки или другие платные услуги не включены в версию для смарт-телевизоров.
Корпорация заявила, что график запуска будет зависеть от конкретной модели.

Samsung Music app of Galaxy to be available on smart TVs

Samsung Electronics Co. said Sunday its own music applications installed on Galaxy and Samsung Z (TIZEN-powered) smartphones will also become available through its smart TVs later this month.
The South Korean tech giant said its smart TVs released after 2016, which run on the TIZEN operating system, will also introduce the Samsung Music application within this month. Samsung's smart TVs currently support various music services, including Melon, Bugs and Spotify.
Users of Samsung TVs will be provided with Samsung's music streaming services. Downloads or other paid services are not included in the release for smart TVs.
The company said the detailed schedule of release will vary depending on models.
Samsung's 2018 edition of smart TVs, which come standard with its artificial intelligence platform Bixby, are able to understand users' commands, such as "Please turn on songs from Samsung Music."
Industry watchers said the scope of services supported by Samsung Music is expected to expand down the road as the company also plans to release an AI speaker later this year.

Challenges Faced by Developers

Do you familiar with the situation when you are interested in something, determined to try yourself in some new area, but after the first steps you’ve realized that this may bring you more difficulties than advantages. And you decide to quit, have not even actually started. Unfortunately, this is the case for many programmers who are beginning to develop on TIZEN.
That is why a team of engineers from Samsung R&D Institute Ukraine decided to create a resource that would help promote the platform among local developers community and reduce the entry threshold for future TIZEN software engineers. Our goal is to create a foundation for the development of a self-sufficient ecosystem for the TIZEN operating system.

What Have Been Done?

Our team of Tizen enthusiasts has created a set of lessons in English, Ukraine, and Russian languages for those who want to start developing native applications for wearable devices, running on TIZEN - https://developer.tizen.org/dev-guide/training/native-app

Samsung выпустил приложение SeeColors для своих TIZEN-телевизоров

Samsung объявил о выпуске специального приложения для страдающих дальтонизмом SeeColors, которое можно устанавливать на смарт-телевизоры последних поколений, работающих на операционной системе TIZEN.
Новый программный продукт специалисты называют настоящим прорывом в оказании помощи людям, лишённым возможности правильно воспринимать цвета. Отныне сотни миллионов людей во всём мире смогут увидеть, как выглядит окружающий их мир на самом деле.
Ранее Samsung уже выпускал бэта-версии таких приложений, которые создавались в тесном сотрудничестве с ведущими офтальмологами разных стран. Теперь окончательный вариант приложения доступен всем желающим. Любопытно, что SeeColors также доступно и для владельцев смартфонов Samsung. Принцип использования программы предельно прост: перед началом просмотра видеоконтента зрителю предлагается пройти специальный тест на синхронизированном с телевизором смартфоне марки Galaxy, что позволит автоматике определить, какие именно цвета воспринимаются неправильно. После этого смарт-телевизор получает информацию со смартфона и производит автоматическую коррекцию цветовой гаммы, чтобы максимально адаптировать изображение для конкретного человека. Изменения заносятся в память устройства, после чего в любой момент дальтоник может быстро переключить Samsung Smart TV в нужный ему режим. Иными словами, настройка производится один раз и страдающему этим заболеванием не придётся проходить тест перед каждым просмотром.
Функция SeeColors была высоко оценена специалистами-офтальмологами, после чего южнокорейский техногигант собрал массу престижных наград за своё изобретение.

Samsung Launches SeeColors App for QLED TV to Support People with Color Vision Deficiency (CVD)

The SeeColors app, compatible with all QLED TVs, allows viewers with Color Vision Deficiency to truly enjoy the experience of seeing more optimized colors through their adjusted displays

Samsung Electronics announced today the launch of SeeColors app for QLED TV, which is compatible with all Samsung QLED TVs. The SeeColors app* for QLED TV helps people with Color Vision Deficiency (CVD) identify their personal visual deficiencies through the app. Based on the individual’s results, QLED TVs, featuring 100% color volume, adjust the color settings on the display, allowing viewers with CVD to enjoy a viewing experience with more optimized colors.
“Samsung is committed to making people’s everyday lives smarter and more convenient through technology and innovation,” said Hyeongnam Kim, Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “The launch of SeeColors for QLED TV embodies this mission by providing users with a way to address one of the world’s biggest optical challenges through the latest technologies and visual displays.”
Nearly 300 million people globally have CVD, with approximately 8% of men and up to 1% of women affected**, based on a representative survey conducted in Europe and North America. However, the majority of people with CVD are unaware of their condition and the impact it has on their quality of life.
Through the SeeColors app on the TV, users can identify the type and level of their CVD then directly recalibrate their QLED TV screen based on their personal results. To offer an easy method for people to identify CVD, Samsung Electronics partnered with Professor Klara Wenzel who heads up the Department of Mechatronics, Optics and Mechanical Engineering Informatics at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, to adopt the Colorlite Test, or C-Test, for TV and mobile devices. C-Test, developed by Professor Wenzel, is a digital test that uses the concept of color filters and mathematical modeling to identify CVD. Adopting the C-Test through the SeeColors app has resulted in a simple solution which gives people with CVD the opportunity to see the world through their QLED TVs in more optimized color.
The SeeColors app is available for download from the Smart TV App store. Users can also download the app to conduct the test through Google Play and the Galaxy App Store for Samsung Galaxy smartphones S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, S7, S7 edge and S8 devices. Once users connect their Galaxy smartphone to their QLED TV, the TV will automatically adjust the color setting based on the user’s results.
The SeeColors app is created in partnership with Colorlite®, a Hungarian company that applies certified technology based on 20 years of scientific research to lenses to help people address CVD. The SeeColors app marks the first time Colorlite® is being used on TVs and smartphone devices.
Samsung Electronics has committed to providing a wide range of accessibility features via its innovative products, and its efforts have been recognized with CES Innovation Awards in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
