Сегодня корпорация Samsung Electronics представила обновлённый PC-трансформер «2-в-1» Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019) под управлением ОС Windows 10.
Базовая модель оснащена 13-дюймовым экраном, но также появился и 15-дюймовый вариант с тем же разрешением Full HD (1920×1080). Обе новинки используют для работы процессор Intel Core i7 8-го поколения.
При выборе 15-дюймового варианта Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019) клиент получает конфигурацию с графическим процессором NVIDIA GeForce MX150 с 2Гб видеопамяти.
Как следует из названия девайса, его спецификации, как и прежде, включают стилус S Pen, что делает ноутбук хорошим выбором для дизайнеров, художников и представителей других творческих профессий. В официальном пресс-релизе вендор сообщает, что обновлённая версия S Pen превосходит предыдущую модель по скорости отклика в 2 раза.
Любители путешествий наверняка порадуются увеличенному времени автономной работы, которое у Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019) составляет около 15 часов. Кроме того, батарея поддерживает технологию быстрой зарядки.
Больше подробностей о спецификациях этих устройств можно будет узнать на январской выставке CES 2019, где Samsung традиционно представляет свои новые модели персональных компьютеров.
На сегодняшний день известно, что обе модели обладают небольшим весом - 1,12 и 1,56 кг у 13- и 15-дюймового варианта соответственно. Обе новинки оснащены PCIe NVMe SSD, имеют на борту адаптер Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 (Giga Wi-Fi), порты Thunderbolt 3 (2), USB-C, слот для карт памяти формата UFS и microSD combo.
Для идентификации владельца устройства используется дактилоскопический датчик. В налчии также имеется инфракрасная камера с поддержкой функции распознавания лиц Windows Hello.
В продажу Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019) поступит в следующем году на рынки Северной и Южной Америки, а также некоторых стран Азии. В обнищавшую Россию самые надёжные на сегодняшний день ноутбуки поставляться не будут, поскольку местный рынок PC уже практически полностью захвачен дешёвыми "китайцами".

Сценарий применения кажется вполне логичным: одно устройство может выполнять роль ноутбука и большого дисплея/телевизора в полностью в разложенном состоянии.
Это позволит предложить пользователям действительно новый сценарий использования и вывести на рынок принципиально новое гибридное устройство, которое может подстегнуть продажи таких ноутбуков.

Samsung confirms it's workong on a foldable screen laptop

While the concept of a foldable phone sounds laudable, reports say Samsung might be looking beyond just Foldable smartphones. At a launch event held recently, a Samsung executive confirmed that its company is developing a new form factor for laptops that could align it with changing market dynamics for mobile devices. While not much has been revealed about the said foldable laptop, the top Exec said the foldable laptop display will not just simply fold in and out but create new value and user experience, amid the changing market trends for laptops.
Samsung probably might briefly showcase the device later in November at its developers’ conference coming up in a few weeks time.

Сегодня на специальном пресс-брифинге в Сеуле представители Samsung рассекретили дизайн нового семейства ноутбуков, получивших название Flash. Новые портативные PC отличаются необычным визуальным решением, которое не пересекается с прежними линейками подобных устройств.
В частности, покрытие рабочей панели имитирует структуру ткани, а круглые кнопки выполнены в стиле клавиатуры печатной машинки. Иными словами, Flash действительно отличаются от других моделей на рынке. 
Компьютеры позволяют очень быстро загружать файлы по Wi-Fi со скоростью до 1,7 Гбит/с благодаря наличию беспроводного адаптера Intel последнего поколения. Также в наличии имеется сканер отпечатков пальцев, порт USB-C и  IPS-дисплей с диагональю 13,3 дюйма и Full HD-разрешением. Об аппаратной платформе в предварительном анонсе умалчивается, но с большой долей вероятности в компьютерах серии Flash используются процессоры Intel Core последнего поколения. Также, скорее всего, в аппаратах установлены SSD объёмом 128-512Гб и 8-16Гб ОЗУ.
В Южной Корее стоимость минимальной конфигурации определена в $715. Поступят ли Samsung Flash на зарубежные рынки, пока точно неизвестно. Но если учесть, что рекламный промо-ролик новинок появился на международном сайте корпорации, почти наверняка можно ожидать поставки в Северную Америку и некоторые другие регионы. 

Samsung Electronics showcases new laptop Flash

Samsung Electronics Co. on Monday introduced a new laptop named the Flash, which incorporates Intel Corp.'s latest wireless lan card for a faster Internet experience, along with a retro-style keyboard.
The South Korean tech giant said the new laptop boasts an Internet speed of up to 1.7 gigabytes per second, allowing users to download large files and enjoy high-resolution video content online smoothly through its 13.3-inch Full HD display. The product is customized for network services of KT Corp., South Korea's No. 2 mobile carrier.
The new Flash laptops, available in the colors white, charcoal and coral, also come with a unique look through the retro-looking keyboard, making them stand out from other rival products in the market.
Another notable feature of the latest device is the security system built under close cooperation with Microsoft Corp.
Running on the Microsoft Window 10 operating system, the laptop is installed with a fingerprint screening sensor. Samsung's secret folder also helps users keep confidential files safe and protected.
The Flash laptop also boasts improved connectivity with other devices and supports the Universal Flash Storage cards, which are five times faster in terms of reading speed compared with existing Micro SD cards.
Samsung said it was able to make a new laptop that boasts faster Internet and stronger security under cooperation with Intel, Microsoft and KT, and claimed the sleek design will especially attract millennial consumers.
The price tag of the Samsung Laptop Flash has been set at 810,000 won (US$715).

Компания RESCUECOM, занимающаяся сервисным обслуживанием компьютерной техники в США, опубликовала обновлённый рейтинг самых надёжных компьютеров 2018 года. Продукты от Samsung Electronics были признаны самым надёжными, обойдя всех конкурентов, в том числе Apple.
Пресс-релиз RESCUECOM содержит такой вывод: "В прошлогоднем отчёте компьютеры Samsung Electronics уступали по надёжности решениям Apple, но в этом году ситуация поменялась. По итогам 2018 года Samsung претендует на корону поставщика самых надёжных компьютеров.
Samsung опередил не только Apple, но и всех остальных производителей по надёжности. Это наилучший вариант, который предлагает больше самых современных технологий по меньшей цене".
Согласно данным RESCUECOM, в настоящее время Samsung контролирует 6,4% рынка компьютеров США, в то время как на долю Apple приходится 12,7% рынка.
Специалисты RESCUECOM определяли процент поломок на каждые 100 аппаратов той или иной марки, так что первенство Samsung в плане надёжности невозможно оспорить тем фактом, что компьютеров марки Apple продаётся больше, и, следовательно, их чаще приносят в ремонт.

Samsung beats Apple in US computer reliability report

Samsung Electronics’ computers are considered to be more reliable compared to its archrival Apple, US computer repair service provider RESCUECOM said in its latest report.
“Previous RESCUECOM reports have shown Samsung falling just short of Apple, but no longer. In the 2018 holiday season, Samsung can now claim the crown for most reliable computers,” RESCUECOM said in its latest announcement.
“Samsung continues to impress, making significant investments in quality improvement. Apple, the trillion-dollar tech behemoth, has been the longstanding leader in quality and innovation. Everyone else is fighting to stay relevant,” the organization added. 
RESCUECOM said Samsung’s computers takes up around 6.4 percent of the US market, and its products accounted for 1.63 percent of its repairs. The figure compares to Apple, which takes up 12.7 percent of the market, while accounting for 8.7 percent of the total repairs.
“Samsung beats everyone, including Apple, in reliability this holiday season. It is the best choice for anyone’s computer needs and a great value, delivering more tech for less money,” it added.

Samsung объявляет о выпуске более продвинутой версии версии портативного компьютера Chromebook Plus V2. Его предшественник вышел всего 4 месяца назад, и в нём были произведены заметные улучшения по сравнению с базовой моделью. В частности, платформа ARM твм была заменена на x86.
Последняя же модификация внешне и аппаратно мало отличается от "4-месячного" собрата, но зато она получила встроенный LTE-модем. Согласитесь, не так много относительно недорогих "хромбуков" способны работать в сетях 4G, а ведь это важно для людей, ведущих активный образ жизни и часто путешествующих.
Конечно, такие опции достаются не бесплатно, и за Chromebook Plus V2 (LTE) надо будет заплатить на 100 долларов больше, чем за предшественника (а именно $600).
Новинка будет доступна на американском рынке уже со 2-го ноября и поначалу будет продаваться через официальный интернет-магазин Samsung, оператора Verizon и крупного онлайн-продавца Best Buy.

Samsung added LTE to the Chromebook Plus V2

Back in June, Samsung launched a follow-up to the Chromebook Plus, replacing the original's ARM processor with a faster Intel chip and equipping it with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Now, the tech giant has introduced an upgraded version of that upgraded version, giving it the ability to connect to the internet on its own even in the absence of WiFi or a device with hotspot. Called the Chromebook Plus V2 (LTE), it's still the same premium device released a few months ago, except it comes with LTE connectivity.
The 2-in-1 functions as a laptop or as a tablet, with a design that's comparable to other premium Chromebooks, such as HP's x360 14 and Lenovo's Yoga laptops. It also has a built-in pen, a 1-megapixel front-facing camera, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. You'll be able to buy the LTE V2 from Samsung.com, Best Buy and Verizon starting on November 2nd. However, it'll set you back $600, which is $100 more than the non-LTE V2's price at launch. If you need to be connected wherever you go and think V2's LTE connectivity could be a good backup for your phone's mobile data, then that extra $100 might be worth it.

На днях отделение Samsung France раскрыло часть новаций, которые принесёт на смартфоны лидера мобильного рынка обновление Android 9.0 Pie. Например, вскоре можно будет получить доступ к учётной записи Samsung Cloud в вэб-браузере стационароного компьютера или ноутбука, в то время как раньше доступ был возможен лишь с мобильных устройств.
Для входа будет достаточно отрыть в браузере соответствующую страницу и ввести данные учётной записи. Затем можно просмотреть все данные, сохранённые в Samsung Cloud. Большую часть данных, включая сообщения и контакты, можно по желанию удалять прямо из браузера, а фото из синхронизированной галереи можно даже скопировать на ПК.
Такие действия Samsung указывают на то, что южнокорейский техногигант постепенно формирует альтернативную экосистему, которая не зависит от экосистемы Google.

Samsung Cloud management possible in a desktop browser

Over the weekend, Samsung France revealed some of the features and changes that Android 9.0 Pie will bring to Samsung smartphones. One interesting little nugget in there was that Samsung Cloud can be accessed in a web browser. It’s unclear how long this has been available, but you can now manage your Samsung Cloud data using a browser on a desktop PC or laptop.
It’s simple, really. You just visit this website and then login with your Samsung account credentials to see all the data saved on Samsung Cloud. Much of the data, such as messages and contacts, can only be deleted from the browser. You can, however, download items such as your synced gallery pictures. Samsung’s 15GB of free storage isn’t great for backing up photos, but if you have opted for paid higher storage plans, you might like the idea of being able to download some or all of those pictures on your computer.

Samsung отмечает, что она на 10% производительнее версии Max-Q.
Объём ОЗУ типа DDR4 можно расширять до 16Гб, а для хранения данных используется SSD объёмом до 1Тб.
Samsung особо выделяет систему охлаждения ноутбука. Она включает испарительную камеру, что в подобных девайсах встречается редко, и вентиляторы Z Blade Blower.
Набор портов: USB 3.0 (x2), USB-C, USB 2.0 и HDMI. Габариты равны 375,6 х 255 х 17,9 мм.
Samsung Qdyssey Z поступит в продажу на территории Южной Кореи и Китая до конца этого месяца, а в США летом. В Россию Samsung свои компьютеры не поставляет уже довольно давно из-за низкой покупательной способности основной части местного населения и его ориентациии на дешёвую китайскую продукцию.

Девайсы рассчитаны на выполнение повседневных задач и будут оснащаться процессорами Intel Core 7-го или 8-го поколения. В аппаратной части также используется ОЗУ DDR4, объём которой зависит от модификации устройства.
Семейство Notebook 3 включает модели с 14- и 15,6-дюймовым дисплеем. В первом случае разрешение составляет 1366×768 пикселей (формат HD), во втором случае также доступна панель с разрешением 1920×1080 точек (Full HD). Для старшей модели будет предлагаться графический ускоритель NVIDIA MX110 с 2Гб памяти (помимо интегрированного контроллера Intel).
Компьютеры серии Notebook 5 оснащены 15,6-дюймовым дисплеем Full HD с большим углом обзора и графическим ускорителем NVIDIA MX150 с 2 Гб памяти.
Все новинки могут комплектоваться жёстким диском и твердотельным накопителем. Аппаратная часть также включает вэб-камеру и адаптер беспроводной связи Wi-Fi 802.11ac, а ёмкость аккумуляторной батареи составляет 43 Вт·ч.

В рамках выставки потребительской электроники Samsung анонсировал обновлённый портативный компьютер-трансформер Samsung Notebook 7 Spin (2018). Ноутбук отличается от других устройств на рынке откидной крышкой (равно как и его "старший брат" Notebook 9), которая позволяет устанавливать аппарат в нескольких позициях для удобного использования в разных сценариях. Сенсорный экран можно отклонять до 360°, благодаря чему ноутбук превращается в планшет с большим дисплеем.
Notebook 7 Spin (2018) спроектирован для профессионалов, студентов и пользователей, которые ищут новые возможности для развлечений. Компьютер поддерживает работу со стилусом и получил мощную «начинку» для эффективной работы в многозадачном режиме, а также ряд функций для защиты персональных данных.

Диагональ сенсорного PLS-экрана Samsung Notebook 7 Spin (2018) составляет 13,3 дюйма при разрешении Full HD. Внутри установлены 4-ядерный процессор Intel Core i5 8-го поколения, 8Гб ОЗУ, SSD на 256Гб, сканер отпечатков пальцев, фронтальная камера VGA с поддержкой Windows Hello. Гаджет также получил аккумулятор на 43Вт*ч при толщине корпуса 18,5 мм. Ноутбук весит 1,53 кг, что позволяет носить его с собой в сумке.
В корпусе предусмотрены разъёмы USB Type-C, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI. Клавиатура обладает встроенной подсветкой.
Samsung Notebook 7 Spin (2018) будет доступен в ряде стран уже в этом месяце, включая США. Стоимость должна быть озвучена в ходе официальной презентации на СES 2018. Желающим иметь активное перо придётся докупить его отдельно.

Новость для коллекционеров ретро-электроники: в Южной Корее будет продан с аукциона самый первый компьютер, который был произведён нынешним гигантом мировой индустрии Samsung Electronics. Аппарат SPC-1000, выпущенный в 1983-м году, появится на аукционе в Сеуле. Торги состоятся в среду 25 октября, а потенциальные покупатели смогут осмотреть раритет уже с понедельника.
Любопытно, что 34-летний компьютер до сих пор работает и вообще находится в хорошем состоянии. У него отдельный большой монитор, информация записывается на компакт-кассеты. Изображение может передаваться в чёрно-белом либо чёрно-зелёном вариантах. Прилагается оригинальная коробка, а также инструкция по использованию.
По сообщению интернет-портала газеты The Korea Times, аппарат имеет большую историческую ценность. По оценкам специалистов, его стоимость на торгах может составить не менее 4-5 тысяч долларов США. Аукцион начнётся в 15 часов по местному времени по адресу Suwoon Hoigwan (6th floor), Gyeongun-dong, Seoul.
Напомним, что подразделение электроники конгломерата Samsung было открыто в в 1969-м году как относительно небольшое совместное предприятие с японской компанией Sanyo. С тех пор всё радикально изменилось. Samsung превратился в крупнейшего поставщика электронных изделий на мировой рынок, а некогда известная марка Sanyo теперь памятна только людям среднего и старшего возраста.

Samsung's first PC up for auction

Samsung Electronics is now famous for a wide array of slick and multifunctional high-tech devices. But the tech behemoth had a humble beginning. 
And one of the "relics" that can bring up black-and-white memories of that time will soon come into the auction spotlight. 
According to Newsis, a news wire, Samsung's first commercially developed PC will be put up for sale at an auction house in Seoul on Oct. 25. 
The SPC-1000 was released in 1983 and used widely for computer education. Unlike today's PCs, the model, which still operates, has a separate cathode ray tube monitor and main body. The monitor can show letters and simple pictures only in black, white and green. Its body also evokes bygone days with its cassette tape-shaped data reader. 
The PC will be unveiled to the public at 1 p.m. , Oct. 23, at the auction house on the sixth floor of Suwoon Hoigwan in Gyeongun-dong, Seoul. The auction will begin at 3 p.m. on Oct. 25.

Samsung выпускает приложение для TIZEN-телевизоров, позволяющее запускать игры для PC

Счастливые обладатели смарт-телевизоров Samsung на операционной системе TIZEN (модельный ряд 2016 и 2017 года), получили возможность воспроизведения в потоковом режиме игр со своего домашнего игрового ПК по Сети. Для корректной работы перед установкой приложения необходимо обновить прошивку телевизора до актуальной. После этого пользователю смарт-ТВ от Samsung не потребуется приобретать устройство Steam Link от Valve, чтобы запускать по локальной сети игры из своего каталога Steam на большом домашнем экране по Ethernet или Wi-Fi.
Поддерживается как официальный котроллер Valve Steam, так и игровые манипуляторы Xbox 360 (проводные и беспроводные), Xbox One (проводные) и Logitech F510/F710.

Samsung Electronics Brings Steam Link Game App for Smart TV Users

Samsung releases Valve’s Steam Link app for its Smart TVs for the first time in the TV industry, allowing users to enjoy thousands of PC games through big-screen TVs

Samsung Electronics announced today the expansion of Valve’s Steam Link to all of its 2016 and 2017 Smart TVs, including the recently released QLED TV line. Samsung is the first TV manufacturer to have this application live on its Smart TVs.
Instead of connecting Steam Link hardware to the TV, this technology enables users to stream their favorite games from their in-home PC directly to their Samsung Smart TVs via an app in the Samsung Smart Hub. If users connect the in-home PC and TV and run a Steam Link game service on their PC, they can play the game on their Samsung Smart TV screen via the Steam Link app.
The Steam Link app, which was previously available as a free beta version in the U.S. market, is now available in 55 countries, including the U.S., the U.K. and Korea. It supports full 4K streaming on 2017 TV models, and allows Samsung Smart TV users to enjoy thousands of PC games through their big-screen TVs.
