Платформа передаёт данные в диспетчерский пункт ЧС, чтобы там было принято решение о дальнейших действиях.
Новую платформу теперь можно запускать на высокоскоростных устройствах Samsung Galaxy практически в любом месте. SDC19: Samsung and IBM Bring 5G and AI-Powered Mobile Solutions on IBM Cloud for Enterprises

Joint innovations help governments and enterprises improve safety for first responders, on factory floors and for manufacturing plant workers

Samsung Electronics and IBM announced at the Samsung Developer Conference, a new joint platform leveraging IBM Cloud and AI capabilities, and Samsung’s mobile offerings. The collaboration between the two companies brings together IBM’s capabilities with the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem for today’s enterprise customers.

Safety Platform Powered by IBM Cloud, AI and 5G

Today’s announcement is designed to bring together IBM’s cloud innovations and Samsung’s Galaxy devices ecosystems, including Galaxy Tabs, Galaxy smartphones, and Galaxy Watches. This is designed to help improve the work environments for police officers, fire fighters and other first responders.
According to the International Labour Organization, nearly 3-million deaths occur each year due to occupational accidents. Governments and enterprises have an increasing need to build systems which track the health vitals of workers in remote or high-stress environments.
Built on the IBM Cloud, the new platform will now allow clients to track a worker’s vitals, including heart rate and physical activity, to determine if that person is in distress and automatically dispatch help.
For example, equipped with Samsung’s Galaxy Watches with biometric sensors and Galaxy smartphones enabled with 5G capability, first responders will have their safety and wellness indicators shared on this platform in real time. The solution constantly tracks their vital signs and other key indicators to instantly alert emergency managers if there is a change in any of these data points, which may indicate the responder may be in danger of a heart attack, heat exhaustion, or any other life-threatening event requiring immediate attention. The platform transmits the data to emergency managers to provide insights for their decision-making.
On this new platform, Samsung’s high-speed Galaxy devices can now be used at scale almost anywhere. These devices can be customized to withstand intense environments, such as those encountered by a soldier in the field, power plant employees working in harsh weather conditions, an emergency worker responding to a disaster or a worker in a mining plant.
Currently being piloted by multiple police forces, this new solution provides real time health and situational awareness insights on first responders to reduce operational risks in the field.

Поскольку Samsung Developer Conference ежегодно проходит в США, то внимание программистов было сосредоточено, в большой степени, на создании приложений для местных служб, заинтересованных в применении продвинутых электронных девайсов. Это ведёт к тому, что РФ будет катастрофически отставать от цивилизованного мира, всё больше замыкаясь внутри своих границ по северокорейскому образцу.

Google нервничает: Samsung открывает платформу TIZEN для сторонних производителей смарт-телевизоров и TV-приставок, ослабляя позиции Android TV

На проходящей в Сан-Хосе (штат Калифорния, США) конференции разработчиков ПО SDC19 произошла своего рода сенсация, хотя для инсайдеров IT-отрасли это не было откровением: Samsung объявил о том, что открывает для сторонних производителей телевизоров и ТВ-приставок свою смарт-платформу на базе TIZEN OS.
Некоторые эксперты склонны полагать, что это первый серьёзный шаг к прямой конкуренции с Android TV, которую продвигает холдинг Alphabet/Google.
При этом Samsung сделал эффектный ход, объявив на вводном мероприятии SDC19 о значительном упрощении создания приложений и сокращении сроков их размещения в библиотеке TIZEN Store.

Нет необходимости лишний раз пояснять, что это очень мощные функции и привилегии, которые значительно сокращают сроки разработки и развёртывания приложений. Более того, объявлено о глобальном запуске бесплатного фирменного сервиса Samsung TV Plus, открывающего доступ более чем к 70-ти популярным вещательным и сотням стриминговых каналов.
Вдобавок ко всему, Samsung получил приоритетную поддержку от наиболее влиятельных платформ потокового вещания, в том числе от новейших Apple TV+ и Disney+.
Ничего подобного платформа Android и более мелкие конкуренты предложить в обозримой перспективе не смогут.
Samsung также активно инвестирует в технологии 8K. Топ-менеджеры корпорации отмечают, что благодаря AI ScaleNet появилась возможность транслировать высококачественное 8K-видео в сетях с относительно низкой пропускной способностью. "Samsung вот уже 13 лет подряд является мировым лидером в производстве телевизоров, причём не только благодаря хорошему качеству изображения, но и мощной программной платформе, которую выстраивает с 2012 года на базе TIZEN OS. Первые телевизоры с предустановленной TIZEN были выпущены в начале 2015 года и с тех пор неизменно получают высокие оценки за качество не только аппаратной, но и программной части. Иными словами, владельцы устройств марки Samsung могут не беспокоиться о проблемах из-за возможной несовместимости программно-аппаратных платформ, поскольку производитель позаботился об их полной адаптации благодаря внедрению единого протокола обмена данными.
При этом Samsung также открыл возможность контроля за "умным домом" с помощью TIZEN-телевизоров сторонним производителям, устройства которых поддерживают соответствующие протоколы. Samsung's TIZEN OS now open to third-party Smart TV manufacturers, offers multiple options not present in Android TV

Samsung has always invested in developing its own operating system for its Smart TV lineup. Samsung believes in the potential of TIZEN, a lightweight operating system platform designed, developed and optimized for electronics with limited hardware capabilities.
Now the Samsung’s TIZEN-based Smart TV OS is available to other OEM Smart TV manufacturers. This means OEMs who are interested in moving away from Android TV OS or simply want an alternative, can integrate the versatile Smart TV platform within their own TVs.
The company is offering some key features and options to developers and OEMs that Google’s Android TV OS or the Android OS ecosystem in general, may not allow.
Speaking at the Samsung Developer Conference 2019 (SDC19), DJ Koh, President, and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics, indicated the company wants to explore new ways its platforms will enable developers to introduce simpler, more powerful experiences to consumers around the world. As part of the initiative, Samsung is making TIZEN TV OS available to third-party TV makers for the first time.
The TIZEN OS is basically a Linux-based mobile operating system. It was first envisaged and conceptualized as a versatile, lightweight OS platform for ultra-light mobile and portable electronics like smartwatches and health-focused IoT devices. Given the immense potential of the TIZEN OS, Samsung began experimenting with the same for other electronics that need computing power which is not resource-intensive.
Now Samsung appears to be reattempting to increase TIZEN TV OS market penetration through third-party participation. The company has essentially opened the doors to OEM Smart TV manufacturers. These third-party TV makers can experiment with TIZEN TV OS.
The company did indicate that TIZEN OS power over 100 million Smart TVs. Moreover, the company announced several new developer tools to bring new apps to these Smart TVs. It is apparent the Smart TVs powered with TIZEN OS may not have direct and integrated access to the Google Play Android app store. However, both Android and TIZEN being Linux-based, it is quite likely that apps designed for Android TV OS will work well on Smart TVs running TIZEN OS with minimal engineering.
In order to boost the adoption of the TIZEN OS, consumers and even OEMs will require reliable access to a large repository of apps. The Android TV ecosystem already has access to the millions of apps that work well on Android. For TIZEN OS to increase adoption, Samsung is offering some impressive privileges:

* Wits platform automatically uploads a code edit to the TV, so developers can see their update almost immediately, significantly trimming development time.
* EasyST makes testing content playback much easier because developers don’t need to build their own test app to make sure their content is streaming as intended.
* TIFA (TIZEN Identifier for Advertising) gives consumers the option to limit ad tracking or opt-out of targeted advertising.

Needless to add, these are some very powerful features and privileges that significantly cut down on the app development and deployment timeframe. Moreover, the primary segment of apps for any Smart TV involves the reliable streaming of high-bitrate content.  Samsung is also investing in 8K technologies. With AI ScaleNet, Samsung claims it can stream high-quality 8K videos on networks with lower bandwidth capabilities, Combined with rapid development and investment in emerging technologies, such as IoT, AI, and 5G, Samsung hopes to offer developers, manufacturers, and consumers a stable and reliable platform for Smart TVs to enable high-quality multimedia content streaming without lag or excessive buffering.

Новые возможности с открытыми, масштабируемыми платформами AI и IoT

Для того, чтобы помочь людям открыть для себя новые способы взаимодействия с интеллектуальным голосовым помощником Bixby, в начале 2019 года Samsung запустил Bixby Marketplace, где разработчики могут представить собственные капсулы Bixby миллионам пользователей. Для развития решений сетевого образа жизни разработчики получили возможность масштабировать свои приложения и сервисы с помощью платформы SmartThings. Новое в работе со SmartThings:

Новые возможности пользовательского интерфейса

Samsung Electronics today announced, at the Samsung Developer Conference 2019 (SDC19), new ways its platforms will enable developers to introduce simpler, more powerful experiences to consumers around the world. Samsung shared its vision for the next era of mobile and connected living, offering inspiration to developers, enterprise leaders, and consumers through innovative experiences with the devices they rely on every day.

Creating Opportunities for Developers through Open, Scalable AI and IoT Platforms

To help consumers discover new ways Bixby can work with them to get things done more quickly and easily, Samsung launched Bixby Marketplace earlier this year, creating a way for developers to introduce their Bixby capsules to millions of Bixby users. In the past six months, the size of the Bixby developer community has doubled. And starting in 2020, the Bixby Marketplace will expand gradually, enabling developers to offer their services across more Samsung devices.
To make it easier for developers to create new experiences on its AI platform and ensure consumers have more intuitive experience, Samsung announced enhanced capabilities in the Bixby Developer Studio at SDC19.

* New Bixby Templates makes it easy for developers to create capsules using pre-existing forms so that they don’t have to start from scratch.
* Enhanced Bixby Views enable developers to build capsules with a consistent design even beyond smartphones—to televisions, tablets, smart watches and refrigerators.
* Developers can now register their capsules under Natural Language Categories. When users ask Bixby for help related to a category—such as radio, news, or navigation—Bixby suggests a capsule that can help them get what they need more quickly and easily, even without having to call out exact name of the capsule.

More consumers than ever are seeing how seamlessly connected devices and services can make everyday life easier. Developers can scale their device and service offerings through Samsung’s IoT platform, SmartThings. Already, developers and partners have brought connected experiences to more than 45 million monthly active users and thousands of compatible devices, and the platform is expected to grow further with the Work as a SmartThings Hub (WASH) program, which allows partners like network operators to embed SmartThings Hub software into their devices.
To help developers build on and integrate existing devices with the SmartThings platform, Samsung announced new capabilities for developers:

* The new Rules API brings to life more automated smart home experiences to reflect individual daily routines across a broad range of SmartThings devices.
* Samsung is launching the SmartThings Device SDK Beta program in early 2020 to enable more third-party manufacturers to create SmartThings-compatible devices.

Samsung continues to invite developers to actively participate in its ecosystem and supports the developer community with several incentive programs—including the Best of Galaxy Store Award, the Samsung Mobile Design Competition, Bixby DevJam and the Samsung Mobile Security Reward program.

Inspiring Developers with New Experiences Across Devices

Samsung continued to refine the mobile experience to allow users to focus on what matters most to them. One UI 2 includes new features that declutter the user interface—making it easier for people to interact naturally, while also making it easier on their eyes. And now, to make both the developer and the user experiences consistent across devices, Samsung is expanding the use of One UI 2 beyond smartphones to tablets, wearables, and new form factors, including foldables.
With the launch of Galaxy Fold, Samsung designed a first-of-its kind mobile experience that is much more than a foldable device. Samsung, alongside hundreds of developers and partners, created an entire foldable ecosystem that continues grow and opens up new possibilities to the mobile experience. As promised at SDC last year, Samsung will continue to explore a range of new form factors in the foldable category. And at SDC19, Samsung invited developers and users alike to join the exploration of exciting new use cases and user experiences.
To deliver the best possible TV viewing experience, Samsung is also investing in 8K technologies. With AI ScaleNet, Samsung has made it possible to stream high-quality 8K videos on networks with lower bandwidth capabilities. Samsung has also announced new tools that make it easier for developers to bring new experiences across the nearly 100 million Smart TVs that are powered by TIZEN.

Wits automatically uploads a code edit to the TV, so developers can see their update almost immediately, significantly trimming development time.
EasyST makes testing content playback much easier because developers don’t need to build their own test app to make sure their content is streaming as intended.
TIFA (TIZEN Identifier for Advertising) gives consumers the option to limit ad tracking or opt-out of targeted advertising
Samsung is making TIZEN TV OS available to third-party TV makers for the first time.

End-to-End Security Built in Every Solution and Experience

Emerging technologies, such as IoT, AI and 5G, are bringing new capabilities and opportunities to the developer landscape. For Samsung, it means providing the community with the tools and programs necessary to deliver secure and reliable solutions.
Secure Development Lifecycle delivers systematic reviews at every phase of the development, supply chain, and manufacturing process. Terry Halvorsen, CIO and EVP of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, will be joined onstage by Samsung’s Principal Engineer on the B2B Service Team, Seungyun Lee. Together, they will address the importance of security in today’s hyper-connected world, and how developers can benefit from new technologies incorporated into Samsung Knox, which is setting the bar for security.

Sang Kim, VP of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, will highlight how, as the global leader in Smart TVs, the company is constantly innovating to introduce new capabilities, and along with them, developer-friendly tools that enable partners to build, grow, and extend business opportunities. In addition to introducing new tools, he will share how the company is building and expanding the Tizen ecosystem.

Sally Jeong, VP and Head of Framework R&D Group, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, will share the improvements integrated into ‘One UI’ and how it’s designed to provide easy-to-use, intuitive experiences for the users across the Galaxy ecosystem. And Hassan Anjum, Head of Product, Mobile Computing, Samsung Electronics America, will highlight Samsung’s vision for mobile computing to provide enhanced portability, connectivity and productivity.

Additionally, Taher Behbehani, SVP and Head of Mobile B2B at Samsung Electronics America, will kick off Day two with a discussion on the opportunities for software innovators, entrepreneurs and enterprises to partner with Samsung. Special guests will join him onstage to demonstrate how enterprise developers are delivering next generation social and business apps and services in rewarding ways. And Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, will follow onstage for a fireside chat on the development and challenges of creating his open source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform and share his advice for developers.

SDC19 is set to be one of Samsung’s most inspiring and hands-on events yet, featuring technical sessions by industry leaders and fun networking activities. Samsung Electronics to Present Blockchain Strategy to Smartphone Developers in U.S.

Samsung Electronics will present its blockchain technologies at the SDC Developer 2019 in San Jose, California, in October.

Samsung Electronics will share the trends of next-generation smartphone technologies with developers from around the world in the annual conference, which will be held at the San Jose Convention Center on Oct. 29-30.
Samsung Electronics has held SDC in San Francisco every year since 2013. The company will disclose its blockchain technologies, including Samsung Blockchain Key Store, during this year’s event, which is held at a place where Apple has held the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
Samsung Electronics introduced digital asset services such as “Samsung Blockchain Wallet” ahead of Apple through the Galaxy S10 launched in March. The company will directly introduce “Blockchain Key Store and Wallet” on the home ground of its chief rival.
"Samsung Electronics has been a latecomer in mobile operating system (OS) and app store ecosystems, although it has been a strong player in the hardware market including smartphones. But it is seeking to beat its competitors in the dApp ecosystem based on blockchains,” an industry insider said. "Recently, Samsung Electronics expanded software development kit (SDK)’s support areas for the blockchain Key Store to include Ethereum and Bitcoin and even Kakao Klaytn. The move was made for the popularization of dApp services."
