Судя по всему, южнокорейский техногигант собирается выпустить преемника топовой модели Galaxy Watch, которая была представлена около полутора лет назад. Согласно предварительным данным, основанным на официальных сертификационных документах, это будет наиболее оснащённое носимое устройство из когда-либо выпускавшихся под маркой Samsung.
Старшей 45-мм модификации пророчат титановый корпус, обновлённую аппаратную платформу с удвоенным объёмом постоянной памяти (8Гб против 4Гб в предыдущем поколении) и удвоенный объём ОЗУ. Разумеется, будет версия со встроенной eSIM-картой и поддержкой LTE (модель SM-R855 предназначена для стран, где мобильные операторы поддерживают технологию eSIM), что позволит пользоваться часами без привязки к смартфону.
Учитывая прогресс Samsung в сфере отслеживания физического здоровья человека, следует ожидать наличия таких важных функций как мониторинг кровяного давления и ЭКГ.
Самым дискуссионным пока остаётся вопрос наличия (или отсутствия) в новых Galaxy Watch механического безеля, который являлся эксклюзивным решением для носимых устройств Samsung премиального уровня. В последние дни появилась информация, что вращающееся кольцо управления всё-таки появится в предполагаемых Galaxy Watch 2.
Конечно же будут выпущены и более доступные по цене варианты меньшего размера с применением более дешёвых материалов корпуса (сталь и алюминий) и без наличия LTE-модуля.
Ожидается, что Galaxy Watch 2 на новой версии операционной системы TIZEN будут представлены в ходе августовского мероприятия Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020.

Samsung is preparing to release new the TIZEN-powered premium smartwatch

Apparently, the South Korean tech giant is going to release a successor to the top model Galaxy Watch, which was introduced about a year and a half ago. According to preliminary data, based on official certification documents, this will be the most equipped wearable device ever produced under the Samsung brand.
The most expensive 45-mm modification will receive a titanium case, an updated hardware platform with twice the amount of read-only memory (8GB versus 4GB in the previous generation) and double the amount of RAM. Of course, there will be a version with a built-in eSIM card and LTE support (SM-R855), which will allow you to use the watch without synchronization with a smartphone.
Given Samsung’s progress in tracking human health, you should expect important features like blood pressure monitoring and ECG.
The most controversial issue remains the presence (or lack of) on the new Galaxy Watch mechanical bezel, which was an exclusive solution for premium Samsung wearable devices. In recent days, information has appeared that a rotating control ring should appear in the alleged Galaxy Watch 2.
Of course, smaller options with cheaper housing materials (steel and aluminum) and without the presence of an LTE module will also be released at a lower price.
It is expected that the Galaxy Watch 2 on the new version of the TIZEN operating system will be presented during the August event Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020.

С сегодняшнего дня владельцы смарт-часов серии Galaxy Watch и Galaxy Watch Active смогут пользоваться всеми новыми функциями интерфейса новейших Galaxy Watch Active 2.
Обновление откроет ещё больше возможностей для кастомизации циферблатов: 24 новых хронографа/виджета, помимо 17 доступных ранее.
Также следует выделить добавление настройки циферблата с новой функцией My Style (автоматический подбор циферблата к одежде), дополнительные возможности управления экосистемой интернета вещей SmartThings, новый интерфейс Touch Bezel для обладателей модели Galaxy Watch Active.
Владельцы упомянутых выше носимых гаджетов также смогут осуществлять подробный мониторинг своей физической активности с помощью функции Daily Active и запускать отслеживание тренировок посредством виртуального голосового помощника Bixby Voice (последняя функция ограничена на территории России, так как Bixby ещё не получл поддержку русского языка).

New Galaxy Watch and Watch Active UX Offers Users Enhanced Features Found on Galaxy Watch Active2

The Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active users will soon be able to enjoy all the user experience functionality found on the Galaxy Watch Active2 thanks to a new software update. Samsung Electronics is bringing a range of dynamic updates to its earlier-generation watches, including enhanced Samsung Health features, Bixby features, and customization options.
Once Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active users download the latest software update, they will be able to take fuller advantage of what Bixby has to offer, including using Bixby Voice to start exercise routines, find out time differences between places, and easily control their SmartThings ecosystem. Not only does Bixby learn from your routine and become more helpful over time, but its newly expanded language capabilities include British English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
With this latest upgrade, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active users will also be able to customize their Watch faces more than ever before. Across all of our Galaxy Watch models, users will now have access to 24 new sub-dials and complications, building on the 17 already available, making the watch even more customizable, so users can access exactly the information they want, where they want it. And notably, the improved UX will bring our new My Style feature to Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active for the first time.
The new update brings several new UX features to both the TIZEN-powered Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active as well, significantly streamlining the user experience. Icons for in-use apps have been moved to the bottom of the watch face, helping users keep track of and quickly access any apps with in-progress tasks, such as outgoing calls. Additionally, the current time will now always be displayed on-screen when the stopwatch app is in use or users are on a call, and users can more easily customize the icons in their quick panel thanks to a change in layout. Other UX benefits include a clearer graphic UI, easier user interaction, and new emoji offerings in a range of diverse skin tones. For Galaxy Watch Active users, a new Touch Bezel interface is included in the upgrade, allowing users to navigate using finger swipe actions around the bezel.
The new UX also features a number of new capabilities for Samsung Health. Users can now keep track of their fitness goals through the Daily Active feature, as well as track lap times while running or cycling. And as part of the expanded heart monitoring suite, Galaxy Watch will now support a Low Heart Rate Alert.
Beginning today, Samsung will begin to roll out the update region-by-region. The new software update will offer Galaxy Watch users even more tools for taking ownership over their health, more opportunities to make navigating your Galaxy Watch easier using Bixby Voice commands, and more ways to turn their favorite watch into a statement piece.

По неофициальным данным, исходящим от сотрудников магазинов, собирающих предзаказы на новые носимые устройства Samsung в России, их количество держится на рекордном уровне.
Похоже, что Samsung становится серьёзным конкурентом Apple в сегменте премиальных смарт-часов, внедряя самые передовые решения, которые позволяют  с достаточно высокой точностью мониторить физическое состояние владельца, а также предоставляют широкие возможности в плане коммуникаций.
Ожидается, что в следующем году, после программного обновления, Galaxy Watch Active2 позволят их владельцам снимать электрокардиограмму, что до последнего времени считалось эксклюзивной опцией конкурирующих Apple Watch.
Благодаря этому часы смогут предупреждать своих обладателей о возможном сердечном приступе, а также самостоятельно отправлять сигнал о помощи, если зафиксирует падение и потерю сознания. 
Также ожидается, что благодаря разработке более совершенного сенсора, отслеживающего состояние здоровья, новые смарт-часы от Samsung позволят получать данные об артериальном давлении пользователя (предварительно будет необходимо измерить давление обычном тонометром и внести его показания в память часов, чтобы специальная программа опиралась на эти данные для дальнейшего автоматического мониторинга).
Напомним, что предзаказы на несколько модификаций модели Galaxy Watch Active2 (кроме LTE-версии, которая не поставляется из-за фактического запрета технологии виртуальных карт eSIM на территории РФ), открыты с 17 по 26 сентября. Старт продаж намечен на 27 сентября. Тем, кто успеет сделать предзаказ, в качестве бонуса будет предложен внешний аккумулятор со встроенной внешней зарядкой, стоимость которого в местной рознице составляет 4.000 рублей.

The number of pre-orders for the TIZEN-powered Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 has reached a record level in Russia

According to unofficial information coming from stores employees accepting pre-orders for new Samsung wearable devices in Russia, their number is at a record level.
It seems that Samsung is becoming a serious competitor to Apple in the premium smart watch segment, introducing the most advanced solutions that allow monitoring the physical condition of the owner with fairly high accuracy, as well as providing extensive communication capabilities.

Pre-orders for several modifications of the Galaxy Watch Active2 model (except for the LTE version, which is not supplied due to the actual prohibition of eSIM virtual card technology in the Russian Federation), are open from September 17 to September 26. The start of sales is scheduled for September 27.
For those who manage to pre-order, an external battery with built-in external charging, the cost of which in local retail is 4.000 rubles ($62), will be offered as a bonus.

Технический обозреватель CNN считает новые TIZEN-часы Samsung Galaxy Active достойным соперником Apple Watch и Fossil

На сайте американского новостного телеканала CNN, который является наиболее известным в мире, опубликован подробный отчёт о тестировании новых смарт-часов Samsung Galaxy Active  техническим экспертом Джейкобом Кролом.
Это вовсе не рекламный материал, спонсированный южнокорейским техногигантом, а совершенно независимое мнение обозревателя CNN.
После двухнедельного тестирования Крол весьма лестно отзывается о новинке и считает, что Samsung сделал сильный ход в борьбе со своими ближайшими соперниками в лице Apple и Fossil на рынке носимых устройств.
Несмотря на отсутствие фирменного вращающегося безеля для навигации по меню, который стал визитной карточкой смарт-часов Samsung последних поколений, обозреватель довольно быстро освоил изменённый интерфейс и нашёл его не менее удобным, чем прежний. По мнению автора, прежняя модель Galaxy Watch была для него слишком велика и он постоянно опасался повредить механический безель во время интенсивных тренировок, а также не решался оставлять часы на руке, ложась спать, лишив себя возможности мониторинга качества сна.
С Galaxy Watch Active таких опасений не возникает, поскольку часы более компактны и "монолитны" благодаря толстому защитному стеклу Corning Gorilla Glass. Отсутствие механического безеля теперь не сдерживает даже любителей "жёстких" тренировок (например, боксёров) и они гораздо меньше беспокоятся за их сохранность.
Дисплей новых смарт-часов от Samsung как всегда оценён очень высоко. Автор обзора хвалит его сочные цвета и отменную чёткость. Всё прекрасно видно даже при очень ярком солнце.
Как следует из названия, Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, прежде всего, ориентированы на любителей фитнеса и спортсменов, а функции смарт-часов здесь идут в качестве дополнительного бонуса. Естественно, "большие" часы серии Gear S3 или Galaxy Watch предложат вам больше "умных" функций, включая LTE-связь и возможность телефонного разговора, но Galaxy Active стоят гораздо дешевле (всего 199 долларов США), предлагая, тем не менее, солидный набор услуг, вплоть до поддержки мобильного платёжного сервиса Samsung Pay (NFC).
Гораздо более дорогие Apple Watch 4 якобы могут осуществлять "снятие кардиограммы" (пока функция действует лишь на территории США и проверить качество работы этой опции у нас невозможно), но и Galaxy Watch Active тоже имеют кое-какие "крутые фишки" в запасе. Samsung обещает в одном из последующих программных обновлений открыть функцию измерения артериального давления, что в обычной жизни гораздо более актуально. В настоящее время, по заявлению производителя, ПО дорабатывается и проходит тестирование в медицинских учреждениях. В любом случае это идёт впридачу к уже имеющимся базовым функциям Samsung Health типа мониторинга тренировок, замера частоты сердечного ритма, расхода калорий, напоминаний о необходимости прервать работу за компьютером, чтобы отвлечься на разминку и т.д.
Несмотря на малый размер аккумуляторной батареи в Galaxy Watch Active, часы уверенно держатся 1,5 дня на одном заряде даже при интенсивной нагрузке. Это достигнуто благодаря отлично оптимизированному ПО на базе TIZEN OS 4.0.
Обозреватель CNN считает платформу TIZEN очень качественным продуктом и отмечает, что Samsung будет продолжать вкладывать средства в её развитие.
Навигация по меню Galaxy Watch Active очень удобна, всё работает без каких-либо задержек, интерфейс интуитивно понятен и отличается приятным дизайном.
Набор фитнес-опций у новых смарт-часов Samsung более чем достойный благодаря наличию собственных качественных приложений, а также возможности установки стороннего софта от именитых партнёров типа Strava, Endomondo, Spotify или Smart Caddie.
Выбор электронных циферблатов просто огромен (более 60.000 в официальном магазине; как платных, так и бесплатных). Кроме того, часы позволяют управлять "умным домом" благодаря приложению SmartThings.   
Разумеется, наибольшей отдачи от новых смарт-часов вы сможете добиться, если они синхронизированы со смартфонами Samsung Galaxy. Чуть меньше возможностей получат владельцы Android-смартфонов других марок, а самыми обделёнными окажутся владельцы iPhone, поскольку Apple не позволяет Samsung реализовать все функции на своих устройствах по причине жёсткой конкуренции с южнокорейцами на рынке носимых гаджетов.
Напомним, что по итогам 4-го квартала 2018 Samsung вышел на 2-е место, показав самый большой рост в этом сегменте, а на недавно прошедшем в испанской Барселоне Всемирном мобильном конгрессе (MWC19) Galaxy Watch были  отмечены высшей наградой выставки и названы "Лучшим носимым устройством".

Samsung's slim $199 Galaxy Watch Active doubles down on fitness (CNN review)

At $199, Samsung's new Galaxy Watch Active manages to undercut the consumer favorite Apple Watch, Fossil's sport entry, and the original Galaxy Watch. It's sleeker, slimmer and lighter and runs the same operating system as other Galaxy Watch models.
Samsung has stripped out some features, but that's all right. The Galaxy Watch Active is mostly a fitness tracker with light smartwatch features thrown in. After a week with the Galaxy Watch Active, I'm pretty confident that this is the go-to watch companion device for Galaxy owners.

A straightforward design that's really simple

Samsung took a step back with the Galaxy Watch Active. It's a super slim and lightweight, mostly bland smartwatch. You can get it in your choice of black, green, silver or rose gold (although the green looks more like a blue). Either way, you'll get a smaller 28.1-millimeter display that retains a wide bezel around it, but the physical rotating bezel of the old Galaxy Watch is gone with the wind.
More importantly, though, the display is beautiful. Samsung has managed to pack in a Super AMOLED panel with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass for durability, so it should be able to handle a few dings. In my testing, it was easy to read in sunlight (even on a very bright day) and got bright.
The Watch Active is just 10.8 millimeters thick and weighs in at a light 25 grams. One of my complaints with the old Galaxy Watch was its size. It was tremendous and could get in the way with some activities. For instance, I would never try sleeping with it on or bringing it to the gym. This model, however, is sleek and comfortable on the arm. It feels like a Fossil Spot or Apple Watch model.
The primary control will be with your finger as you swipe, tap and flick your way through Tizen OS. There are two physical buttons on the side for power control and Samsung Pay access. Inside, the watch only has NFC or near field communications, so it only works with select payment machines. On the back, you'll find some regulatory information and a heart rate sensor.

Full-throttle fitness

As the name suggests, the focus of the Galaxy Watch Active is fitness. This really can be seen as a successor to the Gear Fit 2. It's more powerful in every way, and cheaper. It's running the same TIZEN OS (version 4) as other Galaxy Watch models, and it performs well here.
Swiping to the right of the watch face will bring you to the health screen, showing you three core trackers. You get Activity (calories burned), Workout (active minutes), and Move Hourly, which aims to get you up and moving every hour. It's very similar to the rings on the Apple Watch, but it gamifies the experience of getting fit,so chances are it will help you to be a bit more active.
I like the fact that it doesn't just remind you to stand - it gets you to do a different quick activity. For instance, the Galaxy Watch Active had me doing torso twists, which, believe it or not, is a great way to break up writing on a laptop at my desk.
Another neat feature of the Galaxy Watch Active, thanks to TIZEN and Samsung Health updates, is that it can pick up and automatically start tracking activities like running or using the elliptical. It comes in handy if you tend to forget to turn tracking on. GPS is on board as well, for easy route tracking while running or biking.
You can track about 39 different activities ranging from biking to running, so it's an impressive array. Samsung is trying to build out its tracking options so you won't need to go to a third party.

Basic heart rate tracking is here

If you're looking to be able to do an electrocardiogram on your wrist or be warned about irregular heart rate, then the Galaxy Watch Active is not for you. You're better off looking at an Apple Watch Series 4 in that case.
The Galaxy Watch Active can handle basic heart rate tracking, both when you ask it to check and with background readings. It's generally on par with my Apple Watch and manual testing, but at times can register one or two beats higher than the reality.

The TIZEN OS experience

I was a little skeptical of a Galaxy Watch without the physical bezel, but after a few hours of use I really didn't miss it, and after several days I like the finger swiping method better. If anything it feels like I have more control over the experience.
TIZEN OS on the Galaxy Watch Active is nice, and it's a piece of software that Samsung will keep investing in. Out of the box you have several watch face displays to choose from, and via the companion app for Android or iOS, you can add additional faces. Keep in mind though that similar to Galaxy Themes, not all of these will be free.
Swiping to the right will show you all the notifications the watch has backlogged. Many of these you'll likely find are not actionable, and the ones that are will be a pleasant surprise. For instance, you can reply with voice dictation to a text. However, you can't interact with an Instagram or Twitter notification. A majority of these notifications are meant to be quick ways to see what is incoming on your connected device. If you're pairing the Watch Active with an iPhone, this experience will be even more limited.
Swiping to the left will bring you to many app experiences, like the health tracker or the heart rate tracker. You can also glance at your calendar or pump up the jams with Spotify. The latter is a nice experience to have on your wrist, and yep, it works with the Galaxy Buds. Pulling down from the top of the watch face will pull down a mini settings panel, which lets you quickly toggle on or off different features.
Overall, it's a pleasant experience that is smooth and well thought out.

Battery life is long and charging is easy

Smaller and sleeker might have you thinking that battery life might be short, but I've consistently gotten around a day and a half with the Galaxy Watch Active.
I think even with a few workouts, several texts, music streaming and sleep tracking, it should last the day and likely through the night. Samsung includes a wireless charger in the box, but you can also charge the Galaxy Watch Active with Wireless Power Share on the Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+.

A perfect companion for your Galaxy phone

For what you're getting, the $199 price point of the Galaxy Watch Active brings a lot of value when paired with a Galaxy phone. It integrates quite well with Samsung's One UI and natively will work with the Galaxy Store for extra apps and watch faces. You'll be able to see notifications on your wrist, control music playback through Spotify and maybe even get a little more active. The biggest surprise will be how you may not even notice it on your wrist, thanks to it being so slim.
Samsung did an excellent job with the Galaxy Watch Active, and I think it's a great companion for your Galaxy smartphone.

Интеграция позволит владельцам носимых смарт-устройств Samsung получить доступ к основным функциям Calm из приложения Samsung Health. При первом запуске понадобится войти в систему или создать учётную запись сервиса. У обладателей Galaxy Watch Active появится возможность управления сеансами медитации с помощью часов.
Начиная с 4 марта сервис будет доступен для владельцев смартфонов Samsung с ОС Android Pie, включая новую линейку Galaxy S10, на 10 рынках: Австралия, Гонконг, Индия, Новая Зеландия, Филиппины, Сингапур, Южная Африка, США, Великобритания, Ирландия. Интеграция Calm также будет доступна пользователям Galaxy Watch Active. Позже распространение сервиса начнётся и в других регионах мира.

Samsung Teams up with Calm to Provide Better Mindfulness and Wellness Experiences

Samsung Health users are able to easily access Calm features, such as guided meditation, sleep programs and exclusive services, straight from their Samsung device

Samsung Electronics announced the company is working with Calm, the number 1 app for sleep, meditation and relaxation with over 40 million downloads1, giving consumers seamless access to the service via Samsung Health. The move reinforces Samsung’s commitment to working with best-in-class health and wellness organizations to improve users’ entire wellbeing – mentally and physically.

Expanding the Samsung Health Platform

Since its launch in 2013, Samsung Health has evolved into a comprehensive health and wellness solution. Now with over 60 million monthly active users, it includes interactive health and mental wellbeing features across a broad range of Samsung devices and third-party devices. By integrating Calm into the Samsung Health platform, Samsung is providing consumers an easy, intuitive way to manage everyday stress.

A Seamless Calm Experience

The setup is easy, and only takes a few clicks. All consumers need to do is tap the “Mindfulness” icon in their Samsung Health app, follow the steps to sync or create their Calm account, and enjoy a wealth of personalized features, designed to help reduce stress, anxiety, insomnia and aid relaxation and focus. With this integration, consumers benefit from the seamless experience, for example, by ckly accessing their favorite Calm meditation programs through Samsung Health on their smartphones2, and using the new Galaxy Watch Active to pause and play meditation sessions and track their stress levels after a session ends.

Availability

Starting from March 4, the service will initially be available with Samsung smartphones running Android Pie OS, including the new Galaxy S10 line, in 10 markets: Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, U.S., U.K. and Ireland. The Calm integration will be also available to Galaxy Watch Active users.
